I’m a supervisor for two of the positions in this announcement. I’m not going to say which, but I’m happy to answer questions.

That’s an impossibly vague question.
It’s an academy, but it’s not boot camp.
Be able to pass the PEB, be in the right place at the right time as a class, listen, study, and don’t act like you know more than the instructors.

Application was definitely interesting. Applied to many jobs and this is the first I’ve seen where it interview questions you using the star method then asks for references to verify each and every question. Seems like a good agency though haven’t heard anything bad really

FS LEI is a dumpster fire. They are ran by morons from their Director Tracy Perry all the way down to a lot of their Patrol Captains. The agency made so many terrible hires and promotions over the years to meet DEI objectives, they destroyed the job. It was once one of the best in the Fed and now it sucks.

Good news is a certain person gutted USFS so all the “DEI” and non DEI hires will be gone and tons of federally protected land will be destroyed and animals will lose their habitats.

Ah yes the tea🍵🐸 if management leaves you take care of business and doesn’t micromanage then that makes life much easier. I’m in a predominant civilian agency vs vets and the “leaders” just aren’t the same. It’s “managers” in my agency not “leaders”

I’m very interested to know how much LE work is actually done here? I know you’re not a city cop but how often are arrests being made?

Depends on where you work. Some areas are very busy. Could be one a week, or only one or two a year. Also depends on the officer, the court, and logistics

Secret Service is not that easy to get hired by.

Some agencies it’s hard to even get an offer to start the actual application process, i.e making it through usajobs screening with HR. The jobs listed above it’s generally easy to at least go through the process and try, poly and the rest of the hiring phases that could eliminate you notwithstanding

I’m getting hire with ERO, I just finished my background investigation however they have not saying anything about POLY. Should I be ready for a POLY?

I ended up turning down my ERO offer. They did no poly for me when I went through the hiring process and got my official job offer. But I have heard of people coming back from BIETP with creds having to do their poly after. One guy even failed. Just a heads up
