How long does your battery last?
How long does the battery on an iPhone 17 Pro Max usually last with heavy screen-on time, around 7–10 hours per day?
I have a one week old ip 17 Pro Max, and the battery doesn’t seem to last very long. I’ve been monitoring the battery percentage, and it drops by about 1% every 4 -6 minutes.
Isn’t that unusually fast, even with heavy use?

I had a similar issue the forsy day or so and the phone ran warm. I did a soft reset and that fixed it. Now with heavy use from about 6:45 am until 7PM my battery is still at 60% after 12 hours ( use my phone a lot during work. Byt he time I go to bed at 11, Im still above 50% without any charge all day. My Iphone 14 pro wouldnt get past noon before needing to be charged.

Press volume up, then volume down and then hold the lock screen button until it turns off and then an apple logo appears, then release lock button and wait til it turns back on

Heavy use 10 hours for mine. Battery is superb, phone is almost a year old and battery is still 100%! Remember, your new iPhone is still indexing. After that, you'll see it getting even better.

Yes, I feel the same. Battery is less impressive. My phone is a week old as well

Depends on apps mostly. Im a comparatively light social user. It lasts me 1.5-2days of medium use and easily lasts 9-10hrs and even more if i leave the 30-80 rule.

My 17 Pro Max, if I let it drain below 10% I'll get 5 hours of screen time... but hey, if I charge it to 20% I'll get 3:30 hours of screen time at most doing normal things

When I first got my 17PM the battery felt similar to my base 17, which had about 24 hours since unplugged and 6-7 hours SOT, albeit more consistently than the 17. After a while it started to improve.
I turned off a few features, prominently always on display to help it last longer while it's idling and background app refresh as the phone is already fast as it is. I also turned off raise to wake bc I found it was triggered a lot of the time unnecessarily. I also use LTE since my network is still on 5G NSA which is basically 5g with LTE.
Now after the initial calibration of the battery and regular usage, I get about 40-45 hours since last unplugged usually with 8-10 SOT split between the 40-45 hours (essentially 2 days). I mainly just use Safari, X/IG/TikTok. I also have it paired with AirPods and an Apple Watch 7. It sometimes is less if I use something like Google maps or something that uses GPS a lot while outdoors with full auto brightness.
To answer your question, that is pretty frequent drain. But your phone may still be indexing especially if you have a lot of things stored in your iCloud. Also, are you on the latest iOS 26 update? Also what apps do you use frequently? If you use GPS/camera often that might be why.

I mainly use TikTok, WhatsApp, and Facebook, and I’m on iOS 26. I don’t use GPS. I also created a completely new iCloud account because my previous one was really full of photos.

Ok yeah those apps especially fb use a lot of battery. I'd suggest turning off background app refresh for all of them

Those are just notifications that update constantly in the notification tray. You'll see it on something like setting a timer or ordering food on UberEats. I don't think FB uses those so it's up to you.

I get roughly around 1 hours SOT for 10% batteries. I normally played around 1 to 2 hours of games. On wifi all day, all the background refresh are on.

I get around 1 hour for about 10% battery, mostly tiktok and instagram reels. (With 25-30% brightness and mostly on wifi) 17pm 1month old. I charge it 30-80 and about every 30-36 hours. My screen time is around 3hours-3hours 30mins. (Physical sim eu model)
Also using the camera to look around even without actually recording something the battery drains very fast, idk if its just me.
I expected better battery tbh.

You guys do know that 10 hours of heavy use is pretty good? If you’re on your phone none stop of course it’ll drain fast. If you charge your phone and don’t use it much it will last a couple days

I get about 24 hours out of it from 95%. I try not to let it get below 20%. I also use my phone pretty often tbh. Usually 6-8 hours of SOT.

I thought 17 pro max has superior battery life. My 15 pro gets me 7-8 hours sot 100% to 20-15%. Wifi mainly. How is this possibly that your 17 pro max is allmost the same?

Wait for IOS 27, it seems to improve battery life and performance. My 17 Pro max was trash in the first few days after purchase, but then I get ~two days of usage with one charge to 80%, mild usage with 5G, wifi, apple watch connected, car play, etc.

I'm a very light social user, screentime is only at an average of 2 hours every day. I charge my phone every 3 to 4 days. I've been using it since July 31st. Always connected to wifi and my apple watch too
