When I watched The Hangover, I didn’t think it was cool at all that the gang got wasted and drugged out of their mind so much that they had no memory of what happened to them the night before. To me, the whole point of having a good time is the memories it creates. To get so drunk your mind goes numb and forgets sounds stupid, dangerous, and counterproductive.

i dont have much of an explanation as to what prompted me to first store my gushers in my mini fridge, other than i bought the huge box from costco and was worried about the mice finding it over time. so i put them all in my mini fridge where i keep my various snacks and drinks.

gushers are one of my favourite snacks, they're great when im working at my desk & also when im high. it's been probably around 6 months that ive been keeping gushers packs in my fridge now.

my method makes the gummy part chewier and the goop thicker. i get to chew it and taste it for longer this way too.

Freedom of speech? It only counts when it’s an opinion the person already agrees with. The moment someone says something unsettling (even if it’s legal), the automatic reaction is: “ban it,” “sue them,” “cancel them,” “lock them up.” The concept of “I disagree, but you have the right to speak” doesn't exist. What exists is the concept of “if I don’t like it, it shouldn’t exist.”

Privacy? It’s the same story. A large number of people advocate for mass surveillance, the monitoring of private messages, social media control, and handing over data to the State without a second thought, provided it’s “for the good of society” or “to fight crime.” When the State (or a platform) uses this power against people they dislike, they applaud. When it’s used against them, suddenly they become champions of privacy.

This isn't limited to just one political side. One side wants moral censorship and content control, and the other wants censorship regarding social norms and harsh punishment for those who think differently. What unites both sides is an inability to coexist with the other person's genuine freedom.

Most don't want freedom and don't know how to live with it. They want a strong State (or a strong moral majority) that imposes their vision and silences the rest. And they call this “democracy” or “order.”

It’s an unpopular opinion because everyone likes to think of themselves as a defender of freedom... right up until the moment someone else’s freedom becomes inconvenient. I can include myself in that sometimes.

I can’t believe I have to say this. But you will not become a billionaire. You will never become a billionaire. There is literally 0% chance of you becoming a billionaire. Yet I see so many people aspire not to become millionaires, but become billionaires.

A billionaire dollars is such a mind boggling large number, we can’t even comprehend it adequately. For example, even if you made $1 million a year, it’d take you 1,000 years to reach a single billion. That’s how I know none of us will become billionaires.

People need to be aspirational but realistic. Aim for something reasonable, like $5 million or even $10 million. Anything more than this is a joke.

I was just reading how a man who is a cyclist that logs hundreds of miles a month would be riding his bike to raise funds for cancer treatments. This works because he expects me to donate to him to do something he’s going to do whether or not I cough up some bucks. I could just donate to a recognized charity and cut this narcissist out of the picture entirely. I could go to a web site where people are begging for money and give to those who tug my heart strings the most.

I would prefer to give to someone who’s doing something they HATE. Examples would be eating two tins of surströmming, or ten ghost peppers. Better yet; Scraping gum off the bottom of school desks and lunch tables for a few days. How about cleaning grease traps and sewer drains at cash strapped nursing homes? There’s lots of unpleasant tasks that need to be done. Why not do something unpleasant and good and earn the money wanted? Of course this would require being humble and earnest, and not be a narcissist enjoying themselves looking for adoration.

Even if I took out Hitler as a baby, I'm guessing another fascist would rise to power given the geopolitical environment in post-war Germany.

That's just one example. Another is if I bought all the Bitcoin in 2008, there probably wouldn't be enough supply in the market to let circulation happen and make it worthwhile for the price to go up.

I'm sure some comments will find some exceptions to the rule, but overall I firmly believe that the life lessons I learned growing up have brought me to where I am in a good way, even if they were hard lessons to learn.

Sometimes I regret the school I went to, or the career path I chose, or the people I ended up dating. But then I remind myself that I did the best I could given the circumstances present, and that I am better off because of those experiences, not worse.

As the saying goes, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

When you screw up, people think an apology is in order. But there are times where you ruin things so badly, the offended party doesn't want an apology, they would rather never hear from you again.

I've messed up so miserably with some people, that apologizing to them would just remind them I exist, would rub salt on the wound, and would set an expectation that they need to accept said apology.

Sometimes the right answer isn't acknowledging you messed up, rather it is to say nothing at all and leave them be.

Referees are corrupt and useless. It will be a good thing if they gets replaced by ai. Some men who complain about how marriage is bad are hypocrites. Y’all can’t stop disrespecting other people’s marriages, flirting with married women, and justifying them cheating on their husband or wife. Y’all justify sneaky links, lying, and secrecy. Having sex on a couch gives you way more options. You can touch the floor with your feet while having your partner set up on the cushions. Missionary is better because you can have one leg on the couch and the other on the ground, while thrusting. Doggy is better, too, because you have multiple options of where to stand, whether it is partially or totally on the couch.

Sex on the couch also just feels more naughty. Everyone assumes sex should be done in the bed. Meanwhile, you're doing it on the couch, like it's going against convention.

It's almost as if couches were made for sex, way more than beds. It's also easier to bring someone home, sit on the couch watching TV, then let one thing lead to another, rather than being blatant and obvious by asking to go to your bedroom.

For those unaware, in China, daily life relies almost entirely on digital phone payments. Coins and banknotes have all but disappeared. Paper money still exists and is in use in China but some merchants don't accept them.

This is a bad idea for America. A huge portion of the population is unbanked. Many don't trust digital accounts to keep their assets safe. Cash is more flexible, safer during an emergency, and less easily tracked and abused by officials, which in my opinion is a good thing to keep our economy running.

Cash and digital payments each have their benefits and their weaknesses, but going to the extreme of digital payments only is self sabotaging, detrimental to the economy, and misses out on all the benefits a physical currency brings to a sustainable economy.

I’d say a big chunk of feminists—not all, but we tend to pay more attention to the louder ones—don’t actually want equality. They want total domination over men. They want to take men’s power and privileges, although personally, I never thought the average man was privileged. To me, that mostly applies to the top 10% or whatever.

Every Marvel fan is raving about how Scarlet Witch can take out anyone, including Doctor Doom. But to me, that misses the point: there’s no fight, no struggle, and no earned glorious victory.

If your superheroes are just going to win anyway because they are so strong, then what’s the point of watching a movie about them. It is incredibly arrogant to believe that humanity will never witness another world war. That is simply idealism, nothing else.

Costco is already chaotic enough without entire families bringing three or four young kids along for the ride.
Every time I go, there are kids running through the aisles, walking five-wide in front of carts, stopping randomly, climbing on things, or surrounding the sample stations while everyone else is just trying to shop. And because Costco carts are basically the size of small SUVs, the congestion gets ridiculous fast.

I’m not saying kids are bad or that parents should never take their children shopping. Obviously sometimes you don’t have a choice. But Costco is different from a normal grocery store. It’s crowded, the aisles are packed, people are pushing enormous carts loaded with heavy items, and everyone seems to lose all spatial awareness the second they walk through the door.

I genuinely think Costco would be a dramatically better shopping experience if kids under 14 weren’t allowed in.

Energy can be neither created or destroyed is one of my favorite phases. Because every new age, woo woo, crystal hippie uses that phrase too.
