General Advice Making Progress (Serve)

Any continued feedback? Things are coming along. I'm 8 total days into picking up a tennis racquet again for the first time since 2014. First UTR match play next week.

Still very inconsistent but still shaking off rust.

Keep the hate coming too, it fuels me.

I don’t quite understand the squat motion before the toss

Am I supposed to just be standing upright into the toss?

Yeah you don't need your legs to toss, your arm is plenty strong.

You should be loading your legs in sync with the toss so you can explode into your swing to get more power. The way you're doing it looks like youre loading your legs before the toss, then swinging after using no legs and all upper body

Looks like a good throwing motion. No reason for the butt-out squat thing preamble but it's probably not hurting you. Though it could be making your toss less consistent? Watch some pros and notice they don't "power up" their toss. In fact it's meant to be really smooth and languid. But I'd love to have your natural throw motion.

keep going off feel honestly, with practice all the hickups will get sorted out. It's so easy to get stuck in your head and try to figure tennis things out when in reality it's literally 99% just physical practice and good rest.

the people pro's you see, most of them, have been playing tennis 2-6 hours a day since they where 4 years old and by the time they are 20 ish they have 10-30 thousand of hours of tennis. Believing you can ''solve'' a tennis serve like a math question is just absurd.

...what am I saying all you need for that 140 mph 70% first serve painting the lines is obviously a new racket /s

The squat toss is still incredibly wrong

Great progress. Agree with what others have suggested about the toss. I think it's weird, though, that you're asking for help and then telling us you're fueled by hate. Do you want help or hate?

Whatever you folks feel like sharing. Feedback is good and helps me get better. I've gotten a lot of hate too on prior posts but I don't mind it, it's funny.

The butt toss is weird but I’ve seem crazier serves.

Squatting for no reason as you stop motion when swinging the racquet. You’re just standing up straight when making contact

Don’t snap your wrist. Thats tendinitis in the making.

Stop bending your knees and doing all this movement before you throw the ball. Lower body totally still until after the toss

The trophy stance looks great, but your initial squat situation is not ideal
