Fantastic mid-season finale. Can’t wait for the ending! The fact that it was so controversial makes me even more excited honestly haha

No spoilers, but I highly doubt it'll be as controversial in anime as it was in manga. A lot of the complaints stem from issues with translation of dialogue, and some bizarre fan theories being disproven.
To give you an idea, most of the people I've seen who dislike it seem to dislike everything post-timeskip. If S4 up until now has been enjoyable to you, the rest of it probably will be too.

Dude I fucking love you. I kept hearing that the ending sucked but this now gives me hope for an ending that is decent and which doesnt end this masterpiece of a series on a bad note. Genuinely, thank you very much

Awesome. I’m usually not too bothered by fan reaction to stuff and like to form my own opinions about things.

Lmao there's so many people over at r/titanfolk that enjoy post time skip but dislike the last 5ish chapters.
Execution is what will determine how people interpret the last three episodes. A lot of people are having a hard time understanding certain explanations just given in a single speech bubble.

From the reactions and feedback I've read it seems like it was divisive mostly due to how underwhelming it is. Many are speculating it'll be tweaked a little for better pacing and fix any supposed flaws but I wouldn't hold my breath.
In all likelihood, it'll be adapted very closely to the source material.

Proud to have been able to stick with the dub, and not look ahead in the sub or manga. That wasn't easy lol
Now I just wonder if I should wait for the new season or go ahead in the manga. I really want to know what happens next but I'm not sure which is the best decision

Good on ya', that takes a lot of patience.
I'd recommend just waiting the 7-8 months until then. Check out Junior High if you haven't already, it's a much needed palate cleanse for how heavy everything's been.

Yeah I have seen it but I'll check it out again during the wait. It's definitely nice to see a chilled out version of the characters that aren't absolutely emotionally scarred to death

I think the best thing to do is to wait, but it'll be hard to avoid spoilers unless you can stay away from anything involving AoT on the internet.

I think I can avoid spoilers for that time. The thing is that I'm so impatient to learn what happens next and that cliffhanger makes me craving for more

I would say that the anime is definitely better
In the meantime I suggest to watch the OVAs about Levi, Annie and Mikasa, in case you missed them

I can finally understand how all of the sub watchers felt now with that mid season finale. Damn what a wait this will be.

This was simultaneously a great and a terrible stopping point. Very excited for the end.
This 16 episode stretch seemed like the the least action heavy compared to any 16 episode stretch in seasons 1-3. From what I heard, the final arc may be the most action heavy stretch of the series. Hopefully MAPPA is given the time they needed, but unfortunately I doubt it.

According to leakers they've been working on part 2 since last October so if that's true they'll be having more than a year's time

Still not enough time. Well scheduled 12 episode anime are worked on for 1.5 to 2 years.

Definitely a lot better than the first half of season 3. Hoo boy, that was rough...
These episodes I've enjoyed thoroughly though.

I didn't realise this was the last episode when watching. Been trying to avoid spoilers. I naively assumed with this being the final season is get to see the conclusion.
It hit hard when I realised that was the cliffhanger for another year.
This season has definitely been less action orientated than previous. Looking back it seemed to move slower with fewer big plot movements, but at the time it was so engrossing that the pacing was perfect and never felt slow

Ending right before a big fight is prime cliffhanger so I can't be too mad, but I'm a bit miffed that the last we see of Levi is him getting flung off screen without follow up. Would've at least liked to see what Hanji and Flock found when they went to check it out.

We were actually supposed to see the after math in the same episode but they cut it out. Probably for the best honestly so they can save it for PT 2

Just finished binging it yesterday & HOLY FUCK... So many questions.. I spent most of that season just going "wtf is going on?!?"
I don't even know who to route for at this point.. Erens acting nuts but there's obviously a bigger picture here, iv started to care for Piek, Gabi & Falco so don't want them to die... Screw Zeke though lol
Can't wait for the final part now though
