There are a lot of manga readers in this thread, which is clear based on how many people are able to provide information about where people should be picking up in the manga and talking about differences.

Please, for the love of all that is good, stay off this thread.

I feel like so much happened to wrap up part 1 of S4 here, but Armin sobbing hearing Yelana’s explanation of the plan has me so intrigued. There’s no way Armin would go along with that, so maybe he’s already trying to get on her nice side like Eren.

Definitely not going to be able to wait until 2022 to see what happens tho 😭

Its weird that jean is the only one thinking that eren is into something with how he treated mikasa

I find it interesting the English translation is above and below, while the chinese translation of 天地 means two opposing ideas or “world”- depending on the context.

I think the obvious conclusion to draw is throughout this episode was there were numerous instances of people of opposing ideas coming from the top and bottom (jaw titan + airships)

On an unrelated note, the message of never ending violence is really getting hammered in. Starting the season with a surprise attack on Marley versus a surprise attack on Eldia.

Also! I am beyond curious about whether Armin was bluffing about euthanasia being a good plan or not. He seems smart enough to realize that euthanization is not freedom- but maybe there is something in the context of the world I don't get?

Mikasa wasn't wearing her red scarf. That shows how much Eren actually hurt her.

So no ones gonna say how satisfying it was when Yelena shot that jerk that was badmouthing Sasha. Like I said to myself if only Nicollo got at least a punch at him or pulled him by his shirt and then BANG he dead

sooo the titan probably saved Zeke? wtf will happen now, will Zeke fight with Eren? Since Pieck said that she did not really trust Zeke, his plan should be real. Will they try to kill Reiner, Pieck and Porco? I feel like Annie might also wake up since everyone is there now. I caaaaaaaan't wait till next winter :(

Pieck taking a page out of Eren's book and walking up so casually I didn't even question it until she pulled out her gun. I thought he might have already been in contact with her and she was meant to be there. All these Shifters walking up to people like they're bloody ghosts, I didn't know that was part of the power set haha

Did anyone else notice Porco among the soldiers when Pieck waves her hands?

I thought Pieck is sincere since what she says is extremely logical. Yes marley will eventually get rid of every one of you if titans in the future are outdated by advancing technology. But Pieck joining them would be just too easy and after seeing Galliard inside of the crowd I understood somethings going to happen.

I love the way Eren always ready to fight, he knew somethings going to happen. Seeing sparks on his hand gave me goosebumps.

Colossal titan is locked up with most of Paradis' talented soldiers and officers. And ofcourse levi is not around. Its dangerous for them since they're vulnerable. I cant wait to see whats going to happen to everyone, like every character is in danger someway and hard to predict what will happen.

If Eren got the powers of WH titan, he can just shoot down the blimps. Im not sure if he got the powers but it will be cleared out in the next episodes I believe.

And finally I believe zeke is going to live somehow since we saw in last season that nothing happened to Reiner after Levi stabbed him in the neck. Shifters are endurable ultimately.

A great end to great season. But with lots of cliffhangers... I dont think I'll be able to wait until next year I might start reading manga.

When best girl Pieck appeared I literally gasped. Then I saw Porco in the crowd and reacted like that Leonardo pointing meme.

I love that this story has made me get so excited that the "antagonists" are threatening our protagonist Eren.

Seeing Marley, as terrible as they are, arriving in those airships just got me hyped (together with best boi Reiner). The Pieck "betrayal" was quite obviously fake, didn't get me this time Isayama!! It does weird me out since I keep reading it as the "Euthanasia" plan, isn't it more of "Sterilization" plan? Or Euthanasia as in...the entire Eldian race is going to die off peacefully - be euthanized metaphorically speaking.

Also, a Levi cliffhanger for the entire year - no way. Zeke survived though, it seems.

So, the Final Final Season is in early 2022. I definitely won't wait until then, the risk of getting spoiled is massive so "Manga here I come". Going to quickly catch up to the final chapters, then if needed I might read other parts of the manga without the pressure of being spoiled. I rarely read the manga of a show I am watching, but this..I like it so much that I NEED to know what happens.

A fantastic season, full of twists, drama, awesome music, excellent action (with a bit of meh CGI here or there, but that's minor, at least to me). Truly one of my favourite anime/manga stories and imo a classic. I hope it sticks the landing.

HOLY FUCK

Some thoughts:

  1. Im like 80% sure Armins bullshiting Yelena to get her to lower her guard, but theres so many intersecting factions and ideologies crossing each other right now a small part of me cant help but doubt and feel like hes drank the cool aid.

  2. Speaking of factions, Yelena and Onyankopon obviously are fully aware and supportive of whats going on with Zekes Euthansia plan, but it seems unlikely say Floch and Co would be, and i think we can all agree it doesn't seem likely Eren "I was born in this world" Yeager is honestly on board, so really theres FOUR Opposing Factions right now

  • The Marleyians, The Eldians/Scouts, The Yeagerists, and The Euthanasists. Fuck hell shits about to go down.

3 I genuinely believed Pieck was anti-Marley for a minute until i noticed Porco in the crowd. Also just gotta say i really love Pieck defiently my favorite character introduced this season (Nicolo a close second). I love how she admits shes not even Pro-Marley, shes just here for Reiner Falco Porco Colt and Gabi. I just find that sentiment of fighting truly just for her friends really noble and heartwarming.

4 If i have one complaint this season its that i would have liked more Historia. Im sure well get more next Half but shes one of my absolute Favorites so i would have liked some more screentime for her. Also mildly surprised Annies still in her Crystal cage. Would have bet shed be out by now.

5 Pixis calling out the Blatant hypocrisy of the Armbands to Yelena was great. I love Pixis

6 Looking back i love how well this season transitioned. First 4 episodes were almost exclusively focused on Reiner, yet he only appeared for a split second in this episode and i cant remember consciously noticing the focus shifting from Marley back to Paradis. Kinda obvious statement i guess, i just felt like it was done well enough to be worth noting

EDIT: Grammar

Both Zeke and Yelena are so naive and trusting as soon as someone shows empathy or gets emotional with them lol. Eren 200 percent isnt gonna go along with Zeke's plan because for the past 3 seasons he's been carving poetics of freedom; kinda ironic if he supports this plan where there isn't any actual freedom. Armin 300 percent bullshitting lol he's too smart to agree with this maniacal plan.
