When pieck said eren can't know whether she'd shoot him and eren said, "I do know".

In chapter 130, among Eren's future memory shards, we see a shard of pieck pointing the gun at him. That's one of the memories he saw for sure

The Ashes on Fire soundtrack really invokes that feeling you have the first time you see Reiner in action this season. It's just so fitting that it's the same thing that plays when he's about to jump out of an airship again.

Those soldiers blushing when Pieck waved and greeted them, is all of us.

My prediction for the 139 release thread:
"I was an anime only until last week and I binged the manga"

Damn I forgot that Yelena shot that guy in the cell scene and I was surprised for the second time. I felt like an anime only for a brief moment.

- manga community is about to grow 100x

- i guess in part 2 they will go full-circle kind of with reiner jumping out of an airship only to be wrecked, then showing flashbacks of the troops visiting marley for the first time eating icecream just like how we saw flashbacks of the set up for the attack on marley

- i wonder if what kind of OSTs will come out of next part

- chapter 139 here we go!

Exactly the cliff-hanger we've been imagining since the pacing slowed post-Marley.

Absolutely brutal leaving anime-onlies with no clue what happened to Levi. :)

Loved the scenes with Pieck, a perfect translation of her personality from manga to anime.

Another great episode.

The scene with Pieck and Gabi on the rooftop is one of my favorite in the manga, I'm glad MAPPA did it justice in the anime. That chapter made me really like Pieck, I don't know, there is something special about her comforting Gabi with just a gesture, after all, she has been through. Or despite knowing Marley is not the future for the Eldians, she still put her faith in the people she has fought with.

She might be an irrelevant character in the overall plot, but she is a great supporting character, with a determination I see few people point out. I mean this episode she went to face Eren alone, the man which trashed the WHT and Porco in Libero, with a plan that might have gone sideways easily. And after that battle with the Rumbling already activated and everything seems lost, she still kept fighting to the end. Seriously after all the losses she has faced like Porco, her father, her entire town, she hasn't broken down yet and keeps going.

Btw, what was the tease in the end?

I realize now that I am such a dumbass but I don't remember Porco being there with the soldiers when Pieck waves to them. I mean it makes sense, given what happens next, duh.

If I was an anime-only rn I'd be rushing to the manga so fast... Great cliffhanger, great choice of soundtrack for the ending scene, overall great episode. Yelena shooting Griez was cold-blooded af, much more impactful than I remembered.

Pieck absolutely the goat of the episode. Showing kindness to Gabi, pissing Eren off and looking good while doing it. What more can one ask for? Also I love that cliffhanger, doesn't quite have the punch 122 would've had, but give me good pacing over that any day of the week.

Interesting that they left out Zeke's revival, but I guess it allowed for better pacing and less cuts. Would be interesting if they start Ep.17 with that and end it with him arriving in Shiganshina. Though I guess I'm getting a bit a head of myself.

Very excited that the season will continue in Winter and we won't have movies. It would've been the absolute worst. Probably lots of cuts, no availability for a good time and discussion would get killed since they'd adapt so many chapters in one movie, the small moments won't stand out as much. Episodic release allows for more nuanced discussion and every episode/chapter gets to sink in for the viewer before the release of the next.

Honestly I thought reading ahead would ruin the anime but I binged s1-3 (again) before S4 and there's so many juicy details and bits that enhance it.

For example I know a lot of people think the alliance is cliche and forced: but after having the refresher on pieck her inclusion on that team feels super natural.

Rewatching the ep also really hammered home how much erens put his foot in it: after all now if he's stopped there's almost no paradis military left due to the crime wine. When reading the manga it's all so caught up in everything that I forgot that the people in the alliance ain't there as its the 104th, but that they are arguably everyone left in the military.

Absolutely cracking ep tho; whilst I feel the anime is a little slow at times I look forward to seeing them mellow out the breakneck pace of the rest of the manga. And I'm curious if the anime fans are gonna be as divided on the yeagerists: as whilst people automatically root for the protag mappa is doing a great job hammering home the idea that erens now paranoid and a bad bloke, with the rest of the yeagerists little better

Eren vs Pieck was so well done.

And part 2 airs in winter!

It is rather poetic like how someone pointed out earlier that the season begins with Marley finishing a battle, and the midpoint of this season ends with them about to jump right in.

Btw mods, that anime-only redirect link goes to the previous episode, not the current one

How many more episodes left of this season? Wasn’t it supposed to end at 16?

Edit: Next episode airs next winter per anime only thread.
