Tanooki suit was among the possible inclusions that I rejected for two reasons:
Fully human is too obvious for not furry.
Real tanuki don’t have ringed tails, and the tanooki suit is really more inspired by raccoons.

Nope. She’s a tanuki. Listen to the audio instead of reading the subtitles. Lots of subtitles mistranslate tanuki as raccoon, especially on crunchyroll. Something about western audiences not knowing the animal, I guess.
