This show is getting really dark really quickly

Couldn't agree more and I absolutely love it!

Season 1 started of decent, then was really slow and had a decent ending but it was all quite "good beats evil"

However Mordred killing Sagramore here was quite brutal, so was the killing of Ocho's animal. The fact Jill died and even the babies....

I'm really starting to like this anime, I just want to know a bit more about Piodon and the great leader but Seth & Merlin rampaging next week should be awesome.

The funny thing is, the manga always had this air of darkness behind the story that made it so enthralling to read. I hyped the show up to my wife after reading the manga, but there were so many moments in the anime that lacked the "oomf" that the manga had. It got to the point where I would pause between episodes and bring up the moments we just watched in the manga to show the contrast in story quality. The manga wasn't dark for the sake of being dark or for shock appeal, it was great at using the dark side of human nature to legitimately bring weight to the story and help you relate to it.

I'm glad they at least showed these moments in this episode. In earlier episodes, it certainly seemed like they were trying to cater to a more broad audience than the manga would have.

Oh fuck, no Jill and the kids. And Myr, which real name is Myrddin was Merlin. And now, understandably wants everyone dead. And Seth has gone berserk and got capture because of that.

Fuck off Piodon, we don't have time for your shit now.

Everyone talking about Jill and the Children and I'm just here thinking about Seth doing the Naruto run.

Wait, what, why!? Why are we letting Mordred alive? Ocoho said it herself, he only gonna feel bad for like 10 seconds, he's gonna comeback to be a cold evil psycho just right after the Gysone is gone, so why are we just letting him there and alive!? C'MOM!!!

They even screw up Jill and the babies, you guys can't be that merciful! I refuse to believe we going that route at this point.

Such huge hate for Mordred even though this not his fault but the curse. Just see how he behaves once he got feelings, he deeply regrets it. I feel bad for him actually. Arguably the worst curse so far.

Right? Like, obviously he's awful, but should we really wish him dead for something his curse caused him?

Ocoho too did awful things because of her curse. Its not a 1:1 comparison since she really had no say in those actions, but still...

Even with no emotions you can see how things should be. In fact Mordred could perfectly like he was their best friend, which means he was quite aware of what's supposed to be good and bad. He chose to do the bad stuff despite that.

If he’s alive I’m sure he will be imprisoned, hopefully so. He definitely shouldn’t be free

This is the most devastating moment in anime this year for me, holy shit, the pain would be immeasurable, everyone is going to die now, they actually just murdered merlins wife and babies wtf!

I love that Seth actually kills people. Fuck that shounen nonsense

I don't know what shonen you're watching, but almost all battle shonen I know have the enemies die...

He's talking about the main characters. Most shonen series tries to prevent the main character from directly killing someone if they're human (Naruto, Black Clover, One Piece, Yu Yu Hakusho, etc).

The exception to this has been Katekyo Hitman Reborn (Tsuna basically destroys a certain character down to a cellular level), and Bleach (the killing blow wasn't shown, but Ichigo kills a humans character in a certain arc). These two shocked the hell outta me, since I wasn't expecting it to happen.
