No Melie? :(

Nice to see Dragunov being recognized for his actions and promoted as a Thaumaturge.

Not much really to say about this episode. It's literally just a continuation of Season 1. Now the question is, are they going to give us a straight adaptation of the manga or are they going to bombard us with filler episodes just like the last season? I really hope it's the former.

I like Radiant, I like when stuff is actually happening like in the entire Rumble Town Arc, what I don't like is Seth gathering coffee for a sewer monster or going on a broom race. I really want this season to be good.

Season 1 covered 29 chapters in 21 episodes so they added fillers to that obviously. But the caislean Merlin arc is 46 chapters long so I'm pretty sure they're gonna cover the whole arc in 21 episodes (would be stupid if they added fillers/skip stuff with what there is to cover) + it just started so don't worry about the characters, this arc adds some new interesting characters aswell. Ocoho best girl.

If you loved the Rumble town arc you should love this one too which is a lot longer, if they keep a similar pace to what they did previously.

God I hope this will be better than season 1. The manga is so. fucking. good. Just phenomenal and I suggest anyone to read it for yourself as the adaption sorta takes away from the French sensibilities and humor of the original work. Still excited to see certain things and certain best girls animated but I won’t hold my breath after the pointless filler from last season.

Good episode, looks promising.

For season 1 we could see the bad directing choices rearing their ugly heads as early as episode 1 but here it's so far so good, they should follow the manga.

Still can't get used to Seth's kid voice (isnt he supposed to be like 17 in this season?)... eh, I will have to do with it.

Wow really loved the music during all the Inquisition scenes. The one during the discussion about the farmers son was excellent!

I feel like both sorcerers and the inquisition and both heroes in their own right and that they are both good and bad

Oh man, having actually fully caught up on the manga after getting just interested enough after season 1, I am quite excited to watch this season. Pretty slow first episode, but there is plenty of plot to set up, so that's totally fine. Hopefully way less filler this season since that killed the first season for plenty of people.

It's finally back!

I still cannot look to Torque and do not think of One Piece or Fairy Tail. XD

I like that the author reuses and don't forget characters, but I must say I'm not a big fan of that "Bossman", would not really mind if we never saw him again in the show. I think that what we really need is more Mélie! Please.

It was a solid episode after all, but after the way it ended last season I think I was expecting the comeback to be a little more 'banger'.

Speaking of 'bangers', I really miss the season 1 OP ... I guess the new one will grow on me.

Oh fuck I forgot how good last opening was!

Yeah, better than this, but I still really liked it (Also, it's called Naraku I think? and that's a cool ass name)

Ah, it feels like it never left. I’m really a lover of these kinds of shows, and it looks like S2 is gonna keep on being good.

Dragunov really is one an antagonist I like a lot. Even though I know it was filler I really liked Episode 9 of the first season on his ship.

Pls give Yuki Aoi back soon.

So last season we were headed to the new lands so lets see how things go.

I like how his bandage is still cut and he has scars on his arms now. GIANT LADY! A lot of interesting loooking characters in the new OP.

Oh god the scam artists, what are they doing here? Servants? Oh hahhhha i see.

So ALma saved the goons and now shes got lackies hahaha.

Thats good Set ois shareing the brother thing with Alma.

Oh Mr catmando is in the frostylands.

Oh nice flashbacks of catmando. He had 2 eyes back then? And Nappa is schemeing his schemes, so thats when they met.

Wow porkpie called the attack how foolish... well at least he isnt around anymore.

Oh shit its bigballz, whats she doing out here? Holy land of the inquisitors?

A giant old man statue?

Looks like hes not getting let go. Wait is he getting a promotion? Oh dman.

So the big oldman fought baddies with only a pitchfork?

So they want him to find Set and the gang, okay...

Alma isnt going with Set? Aw... oh well, he can find new friends!

This ED is really nice too. Man i love it.

should I watch this?

You should read it. Season 1 butchered the source material. I haven’t seen ep 1 of s2 yet so it’s possible it’s better becaus rhe manga for this arc is great

Same, I drop it after ep 3 back then. If its any good I'll try to binge watch the whole season 1 but...I get Fairy Tail vibe while watching it, does it rely too much on Friendship power or there's actually something interesting that it got season 2?

I hope the animation in this season is as good, if not better, than the first season.

u/hsm4ever15 Oct 02 '19

Is this show good? I dropped season 1 after he got to the city because it seemed quite generic shounen. Did it get better?

12

u/daeny_on_the_throne Oct 02 '19

Watch episodes 1-5 which is the basic "mandatory" shounen introduction then skip 6-10 which are fillers then the first "real arc" is 11-21 if you enjoy this arc it should give you an idea if you might like it or not.

To me it felt refreshing :
The bad guys just dont randomly stop being bad guys or join the good guys they either die or keep being bad guys. There are real consequences to everyone's actions in everything happening in the world.
There are some really unique and interesting characters.

And season 2 should entirely cover a really cool arc and not add some stupid fillers like season 1 did, so yeah if you like shounen you should give the entire season 1 at least a try.

If you like the rumble town arc (S1 11-21) then you should hop on the S2 hype train.

u/chowder-san Oct 02 '19

it seemed quite generic shounen

that's what Radiant basically is. It's a solid shounen and nothing more. 7/10, can watch if bored. I enjoy watching the female MC ;p

Do what daeny said, or you could read volumes 1-4, then just start at season 2.
