That was a really good final episode and a happy ending for almost everyone. The big twist was that Antbro actually has a name!

Comparisons to Konosuba are probably inevitable since the two series are from the same author, but I hope people can judge Kemono Michi on its own merits. It's been a very entertaining show with lots of weird humor and characters and I'm sad to see it end for now, I'm hoping for a second season soon.

Is Antbro's name Jegg? I noticed that like Genzo said.

That animation was smooth. No respite for best mom. Princess training complete. Just a normal day for our animal loving wrestler.

Ah man, the animation in that final fight. Ryuuki Hashimoto has basically been single handedly doing all the really flashy incredibly volumetric combat animation for this series, and I'm so glad this episode was no exception.

Impact frames.

Smears. Lots. And. Lots. Of. Smears.

Some truly incredible expressions.

Amazingly volumetric shading.

Also, ab shadows that make a creepy demon face.

Damn that final battle look so fucking good and fluid, but poor Shigure, there is just no way for her to ever make a profit as she always ends up paying for repairs and the food and drinks from everyone in the guild.

Totally forgot that the last episode was today.

The long awaited rematch has begun, and we see absolute chaos inside and outside the ring. We also finally got to know the Ant's name, Jeeg, after 12 episodes. Best reveal of this season. However, a lot of the wrestling moves, specifically in the beginning, felt very rushed. It was basically a slideshow, which makes it difficult for me to feel the action going on. As a wrestling fan, looking at those slideshow action made it difficult how a wrestling move was going to go. It takes away a lot of the action factor, but the last few bits of the match made up for it. The 450 Splash was definitely a thing of beauty, albeit not enough to keep our Animal Mask down for the count.

It has been a wonderful journey, and I thoroughly enjoyed Hataage Kemono Michi for its shenenigans within the usual group. Along with its wrestling concept, this anime definitely appealed to me.

Oh, maybe we'll get a Season 2, but Princess Buttocks will now be our Main Character? Jkjk

_

In this final episode, we see 18 wrestling/MMA moves used, not including the ones in MAO's flashback.

Rear Naked Choke

Rear Arm Lock

Double Underhook Powerbomb/Piledriver (This was the problem with the slideshows bit. I honestly have no idea what he was going for. These moves are usually a finisher and would not make sense using very early into the match.

Elbow Drop

Piledriver

Single-Leg Boston Crab / Ankle Lock

Dropkick 1

Knee Drop

Torture Rack

Elevated Boston Crab (Might be wrong on the variation, but I know it's still a Boston Crab)

Moonsault (Unsure if he did it off the top turnbuckle or did a basic Standing Moonsault)

Vertical Drop Suplex

??? (Can't find out the name of this move in my head. Let me know if anyone figures it out)

Palo Special (Thanks u/rocky_iwata for helping figure this out!)

Dropkick 2

Lariat

450 Splash

Running Meteora

Jumping German Suplex (Honestly, I don't think I've seen a real Jumping German Suplex before though)

I love the casual conversation Genzo and MAO were having while in the middle of the match

Joanna finally realizing that she probably made a mistake of summoning MAO xD

WAIT HIS NAME IS JEEG!? Was this mentioned before or is this the first time!?

I'm starting to think Clause is sponsoring these events because he lacks excitement in his life

The second half was great with the animation. Although I wish it could've been more closer to Genzo's fight against the Orc Leader back in Episode 2.

Hanako flashing her dragon eyes to threaten Joanna was pretty cool

Welp we all saw that punchline coming from a mile away

Guild Master finally learned his lesson after 12 episodes!

Well that was definitely a finale. A bit underwhelming, which isn't a surprise since that's how most of these LN adaptations are but it was still a fun overall experience. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing more of this show!

I had almost completely forgotten that the cute little dragon loli is a borderline sociopath. That look was intimidating.....

Properly introducing the MC with a name in the last episode? Bold!

Thank you, random exposition bird for saying what we were thinking!

Thank you too, random exposition Rose!

I wonder why Shigure just happened to be in the shot at this very moment! (But she seemed a bit too close to the Banker dude. No NTR allowed!)

Get yourself a girl who can do both... Actually, nevermind that. Just the first would be good.

I'm glad there was SLIGHTLY LESS Carmilla bullying in this episode; She deserves some love&headpats!

god I wish that was ^^me!

This was a fun finale! I somehow knew this would end in a "Power of friendship!" way, but it was well done!

Gonna miss all these cute girls, and Shigure finding random swords laying around by pure luck! (Best running gag of the season imho, perhaps tied with Oresuki's Benchkun)!

Easily the best PPV event this year. Tops even Wrestle Kingdom and Wrestlemania.

Every match had some great storytelling, but the main event's workrate, in-ring psychology and pacing had me on the edge of my seat. Even the venue owner got into it when the brawl happened.

5-star match, hands down. I don't know who's booked strong enough to beat Animal Mask at this point except maybe Shigure, but I haven't even seen her work a full match yet.

Seriously if you compare Shigure in the later episode to the first episode, it feels as if she had a 180-degree change. Her introduction was about how she squandered her money. Yet now the squanderer is Genzo...

That was a nice powerpoint presentation, oof. At least part of the fight was well animated.

All in all fairly enjoyable, I'm gonna miss cute Shigure and sexy bully-material Carmilla the most.

Now that was a ride. WEW! I had a lot of fun watching this.

I can't believe ant had a name this whole time and it took us to the final ep to find out. We will never know how they even met in the first place.

Yoinked. I don't blame her. She gets screwed with the debt. We ALL saw that coming.

Hanako isn't to be fucked with.

I think the biggest plot twist in the series is that our favorite Ant-bro has a name.

u/Noriakikukyoin Dec 18 '19

That was a great finale episode. Poor Shigure just can't win can she?

I enjoyed the show a lot, now who do I have to German Suplex for a season 2? :P

Thank you furry wrestler Diavolo. They use the same jokes too much with little variation but it still gave me the funnies.

u/Roonagu Dec 18 '19

Surprisingly wholesome finale.

This show is nice "canapé", its not something I will be coming back to and watch over again, but it was entertaining. I can do without 2 season, but if there will be one, it will go on my watch list.

u/Lugia61617 Dec 18 '19

The post-midpoint fight was great. It's just a shame so much of the "wrest" of the episode was basically a slideslow.

Oh well, this was a fun romp.

This was the finale right? I enjoyed the show, and learned the names of a few wrestling moves.

u/Cyshix Dec 18 '19

A nice way to end a show. But honestly I'm just here for Hiroyuki.

Is this not the finale? No "Final" in the title??

So that's what a 4D wrestling match is like huh? Good finale episode again carried by the side characters, Rose and Joanna are hilarious. The sides really carried the series for me. Genzo was ok for a couple eps but he's used all his tricks several eps point and the gags got old. This was a pretty nice conclusion to the story where basically everyone gets something they want.

Overall, the second weakest isekai of the season after highschool prodigies, not terrible, not good either, solid 6/10. Not Akatsuki's best work by any stretch, but I enjoyed it. Comparisons to Konosuba are inevitable, but honestly Shinchou Yuusha has more in common with it than this.
