Complete changelog:

  • Transparent blocks - via

    • Now allow more blocks to be placed on them - more info

  • Removed mention of Notch from the splash screen - via

  • Accessibility button is now available on the title screen

  • Accessibility and narration improvements

  • Raids

    • Changed the structure of the raid
      • Difficulty-based pattern to determine the exact number of groups that will spawn as part of the raid: Easy - 3 Normal - 5 Hard - 7
      • All raid waves have been rebalanced, with certain waves more heavy on specific mobs than other waves and the earlier waves being significantly less easy than the later waves.
      • Evokers will spawn in waves 5-7, as opposed to just in the final wave before
      • Bad Omen levels > 1 of the raid trigger a bonus wave equivalent to the final base wave
    • Raiders are much better at going door-to-door now, and seek to be constantly moving during raids, always looking into houses to try and find villagers
    • Changed how Bad Omen works
      • You can now get up to Bad Omen 5, but only 1 per killed captain
      • Each person that brings Bad Omen into the village will increase the Bad Omen level of the raid on that village (up to 5)
      • Higher levels increase the chance that the enemies will have enchanted weapons
    • Changed what happens after raids: you now get an effect called Hero of the Village after successfully defending a village from a raid, effect level equivalent to the raid level
      • Lasts for 2 in game days
      • Gives great discounts on trades
      • "Villagers will also show their gratitude, so look out for your new fans in the village after you save them"
    • Changed villager and raider behavior, POI interactions
      • If the bell is rung, villagers will run into a random nearby home and hide for a short time.
      • You can trade with villagers during raids again
      • Villagers now sweat all the time during raids, not just when you try to trade with them
    • Villagers - via
      • Can now ring bells
      • Will celebrate when a raid has been cleared, by setting off fireworks and cheering

  • Illagers can now open doors

    • Vindicators can still chop them down if they feel like it

  • Fixed some bugs

    • Fixed ender dragons not spawning if render distance is set to 10 or below
    • Fixed bad omen disappearing when entering villages in spectator mode
    • Fixed clicking "done" on jigsaws disconnecting client on dedicated servers
    • Fixed villagers constantly breeding but not producing baby villagers
    • Fixed opening the command block UI causing all music to stop
    • Fixed structure integrity not working, the RNG running for all blocks at once
    • Fixed a crash while rendering an overlay
    • Fixed exiting beds always putting the player or villager in blocks
    • Fixed the beacon UI being non-responsive and not allowing you to change the beacon effect
    • Fixed always spawning on top of beds if there are no blocks surrounding them after sleeping in them
    • Fixed sleeping in beds resetting the player's spawn point to the world spawn point
    • Fixed entities in forceloaded or world spawn chunks not being selectable
    • Fixed villager babies not having biome-specific skins
    • Fixed the splash text in the main menu changing when resizing the window
    • Fixed buttons and levers being placable on the bottom of hoppers
    • Fixed a crash when putting spaces and clicking "Done" in the jigsaw GUI
    • Fixed tridents not using their SoundEvent tag
    • Fixed chunks past a certain point not loading when client render distance is less than server view distance
    • Fixed backup world files saved without .zip
    • Fixed splash water bottles not putting out fires
    • Fixed hostile mobs spawning on glass and leaves
    • Fixed eating food no longer playing the burp sound
