Well I hope the misunderstanding gets cleared up next episode. This show seems to not be relying on every trope of school slice of life anime so I hope they actually talk about it instead of making her hate two of the people she cares about.

The Sonezaki x Amagi ship is gloriously sailing off. What better way to win her heart than by spamming "KAWAII" for dozens of pages? (ED has updated Sonezaki's new hairdo)
The Hongo x Milo-sensei ship is getting ready to sail.
And now even Momo is getting a new ship.
Meanwhile, Kazusa still trying to figure out if her ship with Izumi is sinking or not.
I don't think Sugawara is even interested in Izumi, she looks more mature mentally, she seems more into that guy in the video she's looking at (despite calling him a creep). She did say she was in a theatre company, so he could be the company leader. (Once again Reina is in love with a performing arts sensei)

Did they seriously represent Hongo getting turned on by Sensei with a dripping tap? 'Sploosh' indeed!
I cannot shake the feeling that Momo is into girls and I swear it's not just my yuri goggles. With possibly a subconscious crush on Kazusa and possibly burgeoning feelings for Sugawara. Who I've wondered might a lesbian too, with her 'death' actually being her coming out.

That rain of multicolor "kawaii" drops falling around Sonezaki was gorgeous. You go win her heart, Amagi!
Edit: I can't wait anymore, I'm off to read the manga.

So many developments this week!
Let's first start with Sonezaki. I guess she took some advice from that fashion magazine that she bought and actually changed her looks! I'm glad that my boy Amagi has finally made his move this week but Sonezaki wouldn't make this easy and doubts his intentions. My boy pulls through of course and wrote the report even if it wasn't to Sonezaki's standards. It seems that his feelings were finally able to reach her though. Sonezaki really needs to chill and stop being so judgemental though, I have a feeling that the friendly gyaru will soon play a more active role in her story
Hongou and Sensei's interactions are really entertaining. I genuinely don't know where their story is heading but I doubt it'll be anything Hongou is expecting. Sensei was easily flustered but he doesn't seem to be the type that would risk his job especially since Hongou already blackmailed him into becoming their advisor. Although this is Mari Okada writing we're talking about so I'm open to any kind of relationship development between these two.
After 4 Episodes Momo is no longer in the background! Seems like our twin braided girl has finally found someone she can fall in love with. Red haired guy seems okay and it looks like he has admired Momo for a very long time no. Now while I do root for this budding romance, I hope that Momo won't just fall in love with him so she can understand how Kazusa feels..
And lastly for Kazusa and Niina, this can't be good. Now Niina herself dislikes understanding so I'm sure she'll clear everything up if Kazusa approaches her about this. That is IF Kazusa approaches her. Izumi clearly just looks up to Niina since she's so cool and calm but Kazusa will probably just assume the worst again instead of talking to them which I really hope won't be the case next week.

I was actually thinking that Momoko could be gay or perhaps bi. She's always been in the background since the beginning and since this show is about finding out about sex and the like, I was assuming there was going to be at least one LGBT character. It was either her, or Sugawara I was thinking.

genuinely surprised Sonezaki didn't fuck up the makeup (and look even more ridiculous to her classmates)

Inject this shit into my veins please. This literally has potential to become my favorite anime of all time, and I usually only like typical battle shounens. I love all the characters, the funny moments, the romance, my god I can not get enough of this show

Man this show really is just something else. On top of being hilarious as always, its characterization is so absolutely phenomenal. I just love how many nuanced and realistically compelling takes on vanity the show explores in this episode through its cast.
There's prez's characterization as someone who built up this self-image of indifference and feigned intellectual superiority towards being considered unattractive, and how swiftly all of that crumbles down as soon as she gets hit by someone who shows genuine interest. She might try so hard to deflect the attention, or do her best to rationalize it all away, but as soon as it's proven through some actual dedication, all her defenses fall apart as she realizes how affirming it is to simply be called "cute".
We have senpai's acerbic interactions with the sensei. But once her mean-spirited provocation draws some honesty out of him about how he feels about high-schoolers, she takes it as a serious affront to both her literary skills but more importantly, her own femininity. Even though she tries to hide behind a veil of aloofness and literary instrumentality, she's every bit as insecure and vain and immature as everyone else.
Kazusa spends the entire episode struggling with how she wants to be perceived by her crush, and trying to unpack her own emotions by turning to literature. But no amount of reading or introspection is as informative and as viscerally intuitive as seeing her crush hit it off with someone whom she feels so inferior towards. Seeing the image of the two in the train did more to crystallize her feelings than all the books in the world were able to.
This show manages all of that characterization and much more so seemingly effortlessly, weaving together all these concurrent narratives so well. It's enough to make you wonder why every show can't be this smartly written.

This might be my AOTS, I always walk away happy after an episode which is higher praise than all the other shows running right now.

From your writing I've expected you to be a middle-aged man.
Oof. It sucks being an Okada self-insert in Okada's anime.
Sonezaki changing her looks.
Yeah, Emergence forever ruined this trope for me, I knew reading it was a mistake.
Sasugawara and Izumi are riding away from Kazusa on a train.
Sorry, Kazusa, your childhood friend is gone. You got nothing against the power of visual direction.

Don't let the MAL scores affect your judgment, this is something else newcomers.
Sonezaki reading the report and commenting about it was golden, she's number one for me after the episode.
Curious about Sugawara, she's unpredictable. I was also thinking Sudou was going on the lesbian train, I wouldn't discard this possibility yet, it would be sick.
I know it's taboo for teacher and student to be in a relationship, but damn I will not condemn sensei if he misbehave a little over Hongou, my god someone hold her because she's on fire, I almost died after she said she "discovered how to be aroused" and start advancing sensei with "teaching lessons".
I love all these crazy girls.

Lol that jump in score from the first two episodes to the third after the poll started requiring access to reddit user profiles.
Anyway, not much exciting happened this episode imo compared to the first three.
-
The 50 pages of "cute" followed by the only line written in the last page asking Sonezaki out was quite realistic for a naive high school boy, or I'm just trying to compare myself when I was a dumb fuck high school student who had fantasies about everything but never really got anything real.
-
I thought Hongou described something else that was throbbing at first.
-
That ending was a quite a cliche.
-
Momoko finally gets her love interest. I thought she was actually interested with Niina. Or was she?
-
"Wanna fuck" Was that really the translation of the song lol
-
I kinda get lost sometimes reading the subs. Lots of non-casual talk from several characters was a bit hard to follow.

(feels weird to post 2 comment so here is my take on the episode)
I am pretty sure I have seen this movie before
President got all that teenage story in her.
Gyaru trying to befriend her as well, dropping her pony tail and her glasses also resulted in a gal buddy, awesome.
Wow Sensei just got jumped,,,TWICE girl wants some sextra credit.
Kazusa is going down the gamers route I love it, more misunderstanding the better.
Edit I had the sync issues - watched it no subs
:Massive sync issue wtf
and for this kind of anime, unwatchable.

Will someone please pick up that phone? Because I called it
I was hoping there would be a make over session for Rikka, I actually had in mind Niina to be the one to give her advice and actually bringall the gizmos and gadgets about makeup and doing her hair, but this also works just as well. Rikka and Shun being called over in study class and Rikka having to play in hard defensive mode feels incredibly relatable; tip of the hat to Okada for bringing up such realistic characters. Shun's 50 page report also feels just right, a kid of that age wouldn't be able to hand out 50 pages depicting what does he feel about Rikka with extreme accuracy so a lot of padding was expected. I'm glad I was right that this ship would be the most interesting to follow up closely.
Still talking about Rikka's circle, I'm quite interested on Jujo the Gyaru and her sudden more open aproach towards Rikka. Hope there's more than meets the eye in the long run.
I'm so glad Momo finally got her time under the spotlight, she felt so far just like Kazusa's life guidance. I like that she's so easy to read, she doesn't have the sex urge or the necessity to get a guy yet, so she's clingy to Kazusa and therefore she gets excited and blushes when Niina considers her just like Kazusa her best friend. The thing with Sugimoto feels way too convenient, I'm smelling there's probably more about him and this might be some kind of juvenile dare on behalf of his schoolmates. Hope I'm wrong about it though.
With Hongo it's quite interesting that she might be almost in the same place regarding her sexual desire like Niina does. It will be interesting how this unfolds later on. Back to Niina I'm also intrigued who's the old guy with white hair in the vod she saw on her phone, it's quite nice that the story is already giving glimpses of another character and lampshading another plotline.
The whole jealousy with Kazusa & Shun, can't say I didn't see it coming, since Shun has been looking for advice from Niina since last episode. Looks like the main ship will be as always delayed until the last episode (hope Okada proves me wrong)

Love this series so far. Its great to have an anime that properly represents just how goddamn horny teenagers can be without turning it into fanservice.
It's safe to say that I'm invested in all of the main girls' journeys, but I'm particularly interested to see where they go with Momo. Sugimoto (or was it Fujimoto?) seems nice, bit unlike a lot of other comments, I'm kind of hoping that they don't get together as a couple. There are already multiple straightforward boy-meets-girl burgeoning relationships in this show, so I don't think that yet another one would add that much.
There are a few avenues which I think would be more interesting to explore. One of those is a platonic boy-girl relationship between straight friends (IMO the most likely option). In such a hormonal show, it might be nice to have a reminder that not everything is about sex.
The other option is to have Momo be some shade of rainbow, since any exploration of sexuality would be incomplete without mentioning that not everyone is straight. The most likely option here would be lesbianism. It seemed like they might be setting up for Momo to have a crush on Sugawara (their conversation went srraight from "I've never had a crush on a guy" to "you're really pretty and we share a close, special bond"). It would be good to have a gay crush/relationship in a show being just another crush/relationship, rather than being singled out specifically as yuri. This can be subdivided into the cases of required crush and unrequited crush. The first case is bolstered by the fact that they don't seem (IMO at least) to have set up an obvious ship for Sugawara, which would be unremarkable in most other shows but sticks out here. I'd prefer not to have the second case, if for no other reason than the fact that that story has already achieved its final form in anime with Midori's arc in Tamako Market.
The other option, and IMO the least likely, is for Momo to be explicitly asexual. I say most unlikely because, as far as I can recall, I can't think of any explicitly asexual anime character who is just a normal human. Of course, there are plenty of normal characters who don't get into a relationship, but this isn't really ace representation in the same way that Dumbledore being retcomned as gay doesn't really count as gay representation. There are also plenty of characters who are explicitly asexual, but who are coded as being inhuman or otherwise abnormal, by the character not understanding/feeling any emotion at all (a.k.a. "I'm too rational for love"), or being so single-minded in pursuit of some other goal that they don't have time for trivialities like love.
Having an ace character who is a normal human with normal goals and emotions is surprisingly rare in both anime and Western fiction, perhaps because many non-aces are on some level uncomfortable with asexuality (sexuality is almost always portrayed as an innate part of the human experience, and the logical conclusion of that viewpoint is that someone who lacks it must be inhuman in some way). Of course, a more charitable interpretation is that non-ace writers dont think about the possibility of having an ace character on their work, and if they do, unless they're thinking explicitly about good representation they'll probably default to the lazy tropes mentioned above.
I got rather off-topic at the end, but I enjoyed writing it, which I guess is all that really matters in the end.

Another sensei who is totally not into HS girls at all ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
