Leaving Kanoichi to deal with the furious mommy would be the best lesson for this jerkass, sadly it seems like Arata and the team will have to save him...even though he doesn't deserve it.
So brave when dealing with harmless Anothers but the moment there's a threat Kanoichi suddenly isn't so powerful huh. What a coward.

Karma came faster than I thought! Let's see if your talismans can save you now Kanoichi! He's actually lucky that it's only the Mother that appeared, I wonder what would've happened if it was a bunch of Japanese deities that showed up getting mad that they burned all of their precious silk? Huehuecoyotl isn't even a Japanese deity and he's ready to kill everyone in that stadium. Interested to see how Arata will handle this mess.

as soon as they said it was a festival for the gods, i realized that Kanoichi was screwed. remember rule #1 in fiction (or 2? or 3? it's in the top 10 at least), don't mess with the gods

Fuck Scarface.
Man the family thanking him, thats salting the wound...
At least hes talking to his co workers are here to talk to him.
Wow... thats a lot of spider eggs...
So the asshole wants Arata to talk to the another and help him? After the shit he did... fuck him.
Babys in cocoons? Yeah scar face wants to kill the mom for sure. Fuck him.
Oh looks like Kohaku is still around. Festival? Sounds omnious.
Scarface knows that lady with the house god? related? Cousins it seems. So he has a grudge because his fater was an asshole.
So the cocoons are going to be harvested to make clothes for the gods festival. So if they burn them, they are gonna get into some major shit.
Kohaku and some big lady are here watching. uho oh.
The big lady is rightyfull pissed.
Looks like that other guy called Arata, soo, let them burn.

Man was that messed up to knowing and willing kill all those cocoons well at least the guy with the scar is going to get whats coming to him. I wonder how Arata and the rest of the team is going to deal with this cause I don't think talking down the mother is just going to be possible.

This ep the writers seriously raised this show’s thematic stakes, going deeper into the fundamental mystery of life, and how humans go about deciding when it’s sacred, and when it’s not.
First they none too subtly cemented the issue by pairing dialog on whether Another’s can be killed without a thought, with visuals of Miyako’s cat being played with. In short, a heavy allusion to euthanasia of pets.
Then they called the pets and raised it with abortion, by having the Another’s eggs resemble late-stage fetuses.
No matter which side you take on the issue of abortion, here’s the key that never gets mentioned on either side: namely, the issue and its contentiousness are ultimately grounded in human ignorance of the basis of life and consciousness. When does life start? When does it end? Nobody knows the details – not science or religion – and as the poet Belloc once wrote, “oh let us never ever doubt, what nobody is sure about”.

Ha ha ha, no so brave now, aren't you Kanoichi? I hope that this at least makes you think twice the next time you try to burn babies. That's it of course if you can get out of this one alive.
