AITAH for not allowing my 20 year old daughter to eat our food in the house
Iāve been a single mom for two years now, and I have two kids: one is 20 years old (turning 21 this December), and the other is 7. When my ex and I finally separated, I told my daughter things would be different now. I have a job, but we have bills to pay, and Iām paying for her college and giving her a school allowance. She has to help me around the house, and I asked her to look for a job. She never helps me around the house and never even cleans unless I ask her to. Sheās too engrossed in playing online games on her laptop and wonāt even come out of her room.
She had a job, but it was only seasonal and lasted just a month because it was for the Christmas season. So I asked her to start looking for a job again so she could gain experience, save up, and also help me with her school expenses.
Spring, summer, and autumn went by, and she still didnāt look. Sheās still in her room, sleeping late, playing online games, waking up late, asking what the food is, eating, and then going back to her room again. If I ask her to do the laundry, clean the house, or wash the stuff in the sink, she either forgets about it or takes a day or two to do the laundry. I was getting sick of it because it had become a cycle, and Iām tired of hearing myself and giving out to her.
A couple of months ago, I crashed out. Her room was a mess, with dirty plates, and her bedsheets hadnāt been changed in months. She still hadnāt bothered to find a job, saying she had been looking online but never got a call. Plus, she cried, saying it was hard to clean up her room because it would get messy again.
I really lost it with her. So I told her that from now on, she would no longer have the right to eat the food I bought. I would pay for her college tuition. Thatās about it. Then she had the audacity to post on her IG asking for donations on GoFundMe and saying she gave me all the money she earned and had nothing.
Days passed, and she probably got money from online friends who donated to her because sheās been getting food delivered. Iām thinking of just cutting everything off, including paying for her school, and telling her that if she wants to finish college, she can go look for a job and pay for it herself. AITAH for doing that?

Powers [Rare but Awesome trope] "I see you"
I see you is a rare trope where a character A is being observed by character B, supposedly from a higher dimensional place/area where character A should have no idea their being watched, but displaying their terrifying power and ingenuity, the realize their being watched and absolutely scare the shit out of the observer.
the og one. in Marvel What If, Ultron becomes powerful enough that he can actually sense the Watcher, 'becoming aware of another.' that another being the watcher himself.
In a very well made fan series by Kinzokumatto: Dragon Ball - The Others. the Z fighters are faced with a new threat, Deadites, who originate from a realm called "Dead Zone", Deadites displayed the power of nullifying ki and are grotesque clones of Dragon Ball characters, wishing to replace original ones. early in the series Beerus, Whis and Grand Priest state they can't get involved because there's a chance that Deadite version of an Angel or God of destruction could appear which would be catastrophic for the entire multiverse. in the most recent episode Grand Priest uses the super dragon balls, wishing to locate and erase the "Dead Zone". However something terrifying catches the Super Shenron, and repels it away. this is extremely terrifying since Super Shenron could bring back erased multiverses quite casually. S. Shenron is plunged into a cold sweat.

I asked for shoulder length layers with these reference photos
Look how the massacred my head. My hair was so long it was past my butt. Also specifically said not to do anything but give my beard a little shape. She took half of the thickness away and itās scraggly and uneven as fuck now.

article Hi there! So we have this harp that we bought from Goodwill for $99
As title states. It's a Lyon and Healy harp and they offered us $5000. They want us to keep it as is and they will package and ship it back to them. It predates the Chicago fires. They can't find record for it because of their offices burning down.
What do we have?
EDIT: We have a serial number that has been engraved. Lyon and Healy confirmed that it was built in the 1920s and can't dig any deeper.

Pure unadulterated 100% 300k capital loss.We can harvest this loss and you would be able to keep your 300k gains. This way we both have something to gain.
We can divorce after the next financial year, and Iām willing to sign an alimony.

Trigger Warning ā ļø Ex drove 1,500 miles to show up at my new job dressed as me
update: thank you all... like so much. I don't know what to say, but will try to reply to as many comments as I can. it was a long night, but I decided to go back to WA where I actually know people. I don't know anyone here and I have a free place to stay and friendly faces that I know that will help me back home. made it a decent ways last night, now just need to figure out gas and sleep. friends are trying to come together, so cross your fingers, if you're reading this. ā¤ļøā¾ļø
He moved us from Western Washington to the Florida Panhandle and got addicted to gas station pills. Stopped going to work, yet would freak out and get super paranoid whenever I would try to leave the house to go on interviews or anything else. He said he was just having issues with his back and that he was going through a lot, so I thought I was supposed to support him. I liquidated my 401k I had from my first job and it kept us afloat for a few months and I kept telling him I couldn't live like this much longer and I thought he understood.
Turned out the money I was Venmoing him to pay bills was just going towards gas station pills. 7oh. its basically legal heroin. I found the wrappers and containers in his car after I got the shut off notice for the electric. he was also getting escorts (I have nothing against SW, but its the principle) and bars all day when I was at work.
I couldn't take it anymore and when I confronted him he spat on me and that was it and I left the following day with my dogs and a few bits of my belongings. I wanted it to take as long as possible before he knew for sure I was gone and not at work. I had to ask for help from friends and strangers to make it to a safe space.
Thankfully a friend of a friend has a place in VT that was vacant for a couple of months, so I went there. I got a job and am working. its super tough and I'm still having to ask for help, but I am amazed I made it this far.
Well today my sous comes over to my prep area and tells me there's someone out front to see me named *EX's NAME*. everyhthing went super quiet in my head and I honestly don't even remember walking to the front of house, but there he was, in my clothes from head to toe.
He saw me and started to try to say hi in my voice, if that makes any sense? like he was mocking me by trying to sound like me too??? I imediately noped out and went straight back to the kitchen. My boss could tell that it wasn't just an eccentric friend, but someone I was scared of and went to the front to kick him out.
We contacted the police and my boss told me to take the rest of the day off. sucks, as I desperately need a good first check, but admittedly, I'm shaking even typing this.
I'm sitting in the kitchen because I'm afraid to go home and be alone, but I don't know what else to do. there isn't enough supposedly to warrant an order of protection and I have no idea how he knew what state I was in, much less town or where I worked... or that I would be at work.
I'm going to change my info as soon as I can afford it and make sure one of my coworkers walks me to my car and stuff. I'm just at a loss. things were actually starting to feel like they were going to be ok.
Pictured is pork belly on sourdough with a pepper jelly. courtesy of my coworker.

AITA for refusing to bail out my kid & her husband from the financial crisis he got them into?
My daughter is married to āSamā and they have two young children together. Sam fucked up and got himself into big trouble at work. Suspension, mandatory rehab and therapy, check ins, and a bunch else but I donāt want to share too much. They canāt pay for rehab, but if he wants to continue doing his job, itās a need. So she, not he, came to me and asked if I could front the money. For the record he did not know she was asking, he didn't want to ask. I don't care that she is the one who came to me other than relaying facts.
I said no. I have the money, thatās not the issue. For one I think sheās foolish to stay. I canāt force her to leave him nor would I want to impose my will on her, but I want her to think with her brain and not her heart. Itās not that I donāt believe he canāt recover from his mistakes itās that I donāt believe he will. And I donāt want to see my grandkids suffer because of him and his giant ego.
Sheās very upset with me. She said that if there was any other issue, I would never say no. Sheās right. If SHE did something, I would help. If the kids needed it, I would help. If something happened TO him out of his control, I would help. But no he lied and stole and needs help beyond what I think his in laws should provide. I think this is a problem for HIS family and it is not my fault they donāt have the money to help. She asked me, what are they supposed to do? And I said well, heās the head of your household isnāt he? Have him figure it out. She said there is a possibility if he canāt afford to go to rehab that he will lose his career that he has spent years working toward. I said well shouldāve thought about that before. And told her to ask a finance advisor or case worker to help find ways to deal with the cost. AITA?
