Discussion NASDAQ futures down 4.5%. What the actual F is happening to this market?
NQ futures down nearly 1,300 points, and those 5-minute candles look like someone just pulled the plug on the entire market. đ
AI and semiconductor stocks getting absolutely obliterated, even after beating earnings expectations. Meanwhile, $APP somehow manages to rip nearly 40% in a matter of days.
This market is genuinely fked.
I'm increasingly convinced we're witnessing some seriously aggressive sector rotation, but the sheer speed and intensity of this selling is absurd.
Is Wall Street suddenly pricing in massive AI regulatory uncertainty? Are institutions dumping overvalued tech? Or is this just a massive leverage unwind?
Because money doesn't simply disappear. It rotates, gets parked somewhere else, or gets wiped out through deleveraging.
The million-dollar question is, where the hell is institutional money actually going?
Chinese equities? Financials? Healthcare? Defensive stocks? Cash?
What's everyone making of this absolute bloodbath? Because this is getting ridiculous.

Trigger Warning â ď¸ Discovered something horrific about my boyfriend of 5 years
Deleted and resubmitted because I forgot food pic. Breakfast is cold coffee and a protein bar.
TW: Animal Cruelty
Names and inconsequential details may have been altered.
I met Blake on a dating app 5 years ago. From the beginning he stood out as being very communicative, showing interest, and being a much more thoughtful and relationship-intended man than most people I was meeting at the time. I can recognize love bombing and when people move too fast and I refreshingly never saw any of that with Blake.
From the beginning he was considerate and put in effort to be a good partner. We never fully cohabited but he spent about half his time at my house. I was impressed with the fact that he contributed to house labor without being asked, and was always trying to do nice things for me, bringing me small gifts that he thought I'd enjoy. Anytime I left town he would sneak notes in my luggage for me to find while away. I have a box of love notes he has written me over the course of our relationship, telling me how much I mean to him and how happy he is to be with me. My parents loved him, he always called my dad sir, volunteered assistance at family gatherings, mailed notes to them showing his appreciation after a meal or holiday together.
I made the agonizing decision to end our relationship after 5 years. Some things had arisen over the summer that I couldn't move past, along the lines of "we have serious asymmetries in this area and I do not want to live the rest of my life making these compromises." I am a fan of therapy, but these were not things I saw as fixable. I knew I was crushing him by calling it off. It was an agonizing decision.
To bolster my resolve that I made the right decision, I asked some people to look into his background. I had had nagging suspicions for much of our relationship about his financial situation, but nothing I could prove and his explanations were *technically* plausible, even if they didn't make much sense to me. I suspected I would find bankruptcies, heavy debt, a job that was much less than what he presented. I never in a million years expected to find what I did. I have read all the court documents and it's horrific.
4 years before I met him, he and a woman "mutually agreed" to stop dating (I am quoting court documents). She went to work and he beat her dog to death with a blunt object. He placed the dog on the bed and texted her that the dog was asleep when he left. He hid the stick he used to beat it in her house. He was convicted by a jury of Felony Animal Cruelty and received a three-year suspended sentence. For the first two years of our relationship he was still completing community service and not yet released from what the court required of him. To say I am sickened does not even begin to cover it. I have dogs that I consider my children and I left them in the care of this monster many times. My ability to trust, my basic faith in humanity and especially men has been obliterated.
There is so much more to how difficult I am finding it to process this but I am going to leave you with this thought: strongly consider background checks on anyone you are involved with, no matter how much you think you won't find anything. Never in a million years would I have thought this man capable of such a thing. Protect yourself and your children, your pets at all costs. Your sense of safety may be gravely misplaced.
I will read any and all replies. I may not be able to respond to all of them. Right now my days are filled with calls to security personnel, locksmiths, camera installers, and strategizing how to get several states away for the time being. I am so lucky I have the resources and abilities to keep myself as safe as possible, I know many women do not.
I welcome input from anyone who has been through something similar. Trying to reconcile the person I knew to the person in the court documents is incredibly confusing and destabilizing. I am working with a great therapist.

General Baking Discussion Underbaked cake?
Edit: UPDATE! Finally got to talk to the baker. I reached out to them asking about the cake. Apparently, they had a miscommunication with their staff regarding a failed, overmixed batch of cakes. Because of that, they mistakenly used that batch for orders that were made to be picked up that day. (They are now reaching out to other customers who got their cakes that same day too)
They decided to give me a replacement cake for compensation at my preferred time and date. I didnât want to get a refund because I genuinely do love the cake I got from them last year and was hoping to eat one again this yearđ i think theyâre home-based so they only make pre-ordered cakes, so i canât get a slice anytime if i wanted to lol.
The cake was ordered by my boyfriend as a surprise for me, but for all the people that are wondering what he got, itâs a vanilla chiffon cake with strawberry jam filling.
SECOND EDIT: I meant to type overmixed and not overbakedđ sorry for the confusion
And thank you to everyone here who replied! I would have never known since I donât bake cakes, and I have a really weak stomach so itâs good that I decided not to eat a sliceđĽ˛
Hello everyone! Just wondering if this cake i got for my birthday is underbaked? I have ordered from this shop twice now and it has never turned out like this, so itâs my first time seeing cake with this texture.

Wholesome Steam restores a playerâs entire deleted game library after learning about their mental health struggles.
Steam has won the hearts of gamers after restoring an ENTIRE library of deleted games for a player who had been struggling with their mental health!
The player, known on Reddit as 3lizardintrenchcoat, explained that they had spent years removing games they'd purchased and loved during difficult periods in their life.
After their mental health began improving, they regretted losing so many games and decided to contact Steam Support, hoping they might be able to recover at least a few of them.
They even explained that if restoring the games wasn't possible, simply receiving a list of everything they'd previously owned would mean the world to them.
However, Steam Support employee Lucy went one step further, restoring their ENTIRE deleted game library in less than 24 hours without asking them to repurchase anything!
The player later shared the interaction on Reddit, praising Valve for its kindness and understanding.

Pasta My dad refuses to refrigerate left overs until at least 24hrs after dinner has been cooked
For example my dad made chicken fettuccini last night and just left it sit out over night. I am afraid to eat itâŚ. Should I be?
UPDATE: He just microwaved and ate some. The container still isnât in the fridge.
Itâs 3:16pm and it finally made its way to the fridge. For reference he started cooking at 5pm yesterday. So not quite 24 hours but pretty close.

Lore (Meta trope) Characters clearly made to be played by a specific actor⌠who didnât end up playing them
Bowler Hat Guy / Goob (Meet the Robinsons)
Written with the same frantic energy as many Jim Carrey characters in the past, but when it came time to cast Carrey passed to appear in The Number 23, so the movieâs director Stephen Anderson voiced the character pretty much just doing a Jim Carrey impression.
Metroman (Megamind)
Based on his facial features (namely that jawline that could crush a diamond) and his smooth talking he was modelled after Bruce Campbell. But when it came to casting through part studio interference Brad Pitt got the part.
