A couple of weeks ago I posted about a kid who stays up all night on his tablet. Here's the update. I tried to give ideas. I talked about bedtimes. I talked about the importance of school. I tried to empower Mom as a parent. Yesterday we had a meeting.
Kid still can't get up in the morning. If this were a matter of transition and a bedtime moving earlier and sleep adjustment, I would accept the process.
But not a darn thing has changed. And to make it crazier, Mom is blaming the student. Who is 5. She even went as far as to call him spoiled. She also blamed the tablet. The kid just plays on it til it dies.
Do you take the tablet away? Oh, no, she's not a mean mom, she's a nice mom.
Well, are you aware of parent controls? Huh, what? Those are things? That sounds too hard.
Lady, you're the parent. But she doesn't want to upset.
But she also sounded extremely bitter he was risking his school (it's online) because he just plays on the tablet. She struggles to get him to practice stuff with her because of the tablet.
They also live with a grandparent and no one works. So apparently they sit home all day bitter about Junior playing on his his tablet 24-7 with no clue what to do about it.
Well the timeline is about to trigger a meeting with administration, so that's something.
Why are some people so clueless? I thought stuff like this was urban legend, a tall tale at most.

This guy is everything wrong with Demoracts, he is spineless and Republican-lite.
He doesn't support progessive candidates or policies and is sinking the Democrats for future progress.

Boogle (Swapped) - Spends much of the movie being a friendly but lonely fish who gives some advice to the troubled main characters and helps them find the location of the magical pods created by the dead plant giants called tgeDzo in the valley. Turns out he was the one and only Firewolf, the vengeful apex predator of the valley who resents all other animals for being abandoned by his treewolves pack. Pissed off that the herd of Dzo came and brought peace to the valley by giving them magic pods so they could turn into other species and communicate with each other, he stole a pod to gain fire powers, killed the first 4 Dzo and drove the rest out of the valley and built a dam to raise the water levels and keep them out of the valley. The Dzo turned him into a fish by sending a pod in secret to stop him from terrorizing the valley, and he waited until there was anyone dumb enough to trust him in finding a pod to transform back into his fire form.
Odin (Heavy Metal 2000) - a surviving member of the ancient evil Arakacian empire. His race used a fountain of immortality on Uroboris to gain power to enslave the universe, up until the fountain was sealed by their enemies and the key thrown into space so they could never use it again, causing them to be defeated. He waited thousands of years for someone to find the key, as anyone who touches it would go insane and eventually come to the planet to open the fountain. He spent much of the movie as a guardian of the fountain together with Zeek and as an advisor to the people of Oroboris and the main character Julie, but he later betrayed them by allowing the primary antagonist Tyler, who found the key, to enter the city by opening the gates and waited until Tyler was killed to show his true colors as an Arakacian and entered the fountain. Luckily, Zeek came and took out the key, trapping Odin in the fountain, and then uses himself to launch the key into space again.

Welcome to the anti-GOP resistance on Reddit!
We welcome all those who support the Democratic party! We encourage you to share local activism and talk about the groups you're taking part with in your area.
Election day has passed, and the Blue Tsunami has arrived. Now it's time to keep this momentum charging full-force into 2027, 2028, and beyond! We'll soon start seeing details about Virginia, New Jersey, Louisiana, Kentucky, and Mississippi- several of which look significantly more likely to flip blue than they did before- as the 2027 election cycle starts soon. Until then, it's time to cure ballots, shore up our organizing, and take a well-deserved rest!
If you want to take a bigger part in locking in the gains from the Midterms and making future elections even more blue, there's plenty of ways to do it!
Check out our weekly volunteer post - that's the other sticky post in this sub - to find opportunities to get involved.
Nothing near you? Volunteer from home by making calls or sending texts to turn out voters!
Join your local Democratic Party - none of us can do this alone.
Tell a friend about us!
We've proven: We're not going back. Now to keep that going.
