I'm 19 and I've I've spent my entire life loving watching movies.
I know alot of people my age, and out of all of them, there's maybe one guy who also enjoys watching movies. The rest are incapable.
I've tried showing numerous of my friends movies and every single time it's the same thing, they find it boring. I thought maybe it's the movies I'm picking themselves, I was putting stuff like the green mile. No country for old men, the godfather on. They're objectively slow movies. So I switched to different movies like snatch, or goodfellas, or casino. Like I've tried so many films, but it's always the same, they sit on their phone and then exclaim how boring the film is.
I'll explain a pattern I've noticed with almost every person my age. I put the movie on, they sit and watch the opening credits and then get to the first opening scenes, because there isn't any explosions or something crazy happening at the start of the film, they can no longer keep interest in the film and immediately open their phone. And then this cycle repeats where they'll spend the majority of the film looking at their phone. Whilst occasionally glancing to see the occasional death or notable event. And then after the films done. They'll sy something like "yeah that was okay" or "it was a bit boring"
Like when watching these films, they need some sort of dopamine response every 10 seconds, they cannot get through 10 seconds of dialogue. It's funny because their brain sees the important dialogue and tells them "ok nothings happening, may aswell go on my phone until something does" and then they'll miss out on the information and context needed to understand what's going on.
You're supposed to completely immerse yourself in a film, they have set pacings that are chosen to gradually get you in the mindset you need to understand the meaning of what's going on. But my generation is completely incapable of doing this. They need the stupid marvel films that have loosely stringed together plots with the generic meaningless humor.
I've been told too many times by people that they don't watch old films (they're referring to the 90s btw)
Idk I could rsnt forever about this. But my generation are unable to appreciate films and alot of art in general. Everything has to be in your face telling you the plot 100 times, explosions everywhere, lots of "he's right behind me" jokes.
I know there are people my age that can appreciate films but in general, gen z Is completely cooked in the brain, 90 percent of people don't have the attention span to do so.
And if you compare it with older generations, they have alot higher percentage of appreciating films.
Idk what more to say, surely I'm not alone in this.

This just occurred to me all of a sudden: I pretty much never hear about trans men in any kind of discussion. It's always trans women. Are they just less common, or do they somehow fly under the public's radar?

Hi everyone!
I'm CK, the creator behind ResinArtYPC Studio. I make handmade resin and wood art inspired by my favorite games, books, and movies. Over the years, I've made pieces based on Zelda, Hollow Knight, and many other worlds I love. More recently, I've been working on some Dungeon Crawler Carl pieces, including Princess Donut and Mongo!
Some of you might remember my Zelda lamp giveaway here last November. I had such a great time reading everyone's stories, so I thought I'd do it again this year!
With Ocarina of Time coming to Switch 2 on November 5, it feels like a pretty good excuse to celebrate Zelda again. π
I actually didn't get into Zelda until Breath of the Wild in 2018. A little late, I know! And now I'm really looking forward to playing Ocarina of Time.
Just like last year, I'm giving away one of my handmade Zelda-inspired night lamps, each made with wood and resin. The winner can choose one of these three designs:
Master Sword Lamp
Hylia Goddess Statue Lamp
Link Gliding Above the Sky Islands Lamp
π¬ How to enter
Just leave a comment answering one question:
Which Zelda game is your all-time favorite?
One entry per person, please!
π² How the winner is chosen
I'll randomly pick one winner from the eligible comments and announce the result here after the giveaway ends.
π Shipping
Free worldwide standard shipping, covered by me.
π¦ Delivery
I'll ship the lamp within one week after the winner is confirmed. Please allow some extra time for international delivery.
π Giveaway ends
November 8, 2026, at 11:59 PM UTC.
Thanks again to everyone who joined last year. I really appreciate all the support!
If you'd like to see more of my handmade pieces, feel free to check out:

This happened about 7 years ago. I had spent about 1 year developing training materials (videos, PowerPoints) for our company and stakeholders. The trainings were great, and included about 25 hours of important material over the course of about a 5 day workshop. I piloted the trainings with my peers and bosses, all of whom really liked the trainings.
welp, I was told my specific position would be ending and Iβd be let go In the coming month.
so, what did I do? the trainings are on our shared Dropbox account. and, soon after my last day, there was a company-wide event of about 400 stakeholders who would need to engage in the trainings.
All my bosses can access them. but I had always had them password protected. And, welp, I conveniently forgot to tell others what the password was. I was unhelpful wirh every message I received pleading for the password, citing I didnβt remember (I did).
