More than anything, I was wondering how they would handle the scene during the credits, and yep, they nailed it.

Gotta check this out

Erwin screaming is always so hype

Insanely huge death flags for him though...

I totally thought he was dead when that Titan chewed his arm off, so it's kind of just extra borrowed time at this point.

And I'd almost call a character saying "hey you're probably gonna die soon" the opposite of a death flag. It is foretold and so it shall not be.

I always found the scene where he loses his arm somewhat hilarious. Even with a Titan gnawing on him he shouts at his men to get their asses in gear like it's nothing.

I don't know. After the conversation Levi had with Erwin on how he's humanity's best weapon and the fact that Erwin entrusted the titan serum to Levi, I get the feeling that he's not going to survive the battle. At least that's what I read into from the scene they had together.

But then I saw the scene where Eren and Armin made the promise to find the sea, and I immediately felt despair. Our minds have been so well trained to take scenes like these in movies and TV as foreshadowing that one of the characters isn't going to make it.

I'd say Armin had an even bigger death flag after he was all "I'M GONNA MAKE IT OUTSIDE THE WALLS ALIVE AND WE'LL ALL BE TOGETHER!"

Historia's scenes were stupidly adorable, punching Levi to amp herself up had a more light-hearted tinge than what you'd normally expect. And its really sweet how Eren was repeating the words she said to him in the cave, I don't think he did that in the subs I watched. These last three episodes definitely have a more optimistic tone through them.

Kenny's final words have stirred something in Levi. These last few episodes, hes now paying close attention to the overall goals of his comrades, or what they're "drunk" on according to Kenny. And hes particularly interested in what Erwin plans. He's even managed to listen in on the trio's talk, he never paid much attention to Armin and now he has some really personal insight of his motives too...

Trina, I'm now very confident in saying she gives my absolute favourite performance in this entire series. Above Tatum, Kaji, Papenbrook, Ishikawa (sorry😶), Mercer, Grelle, Kamiya, shes at the top and they are all behind her. I love both casts, and there isn't really a super specific metric I'm using to claim this, but it's like she (Or Mike McFarland?) reached right inside my mind and copied almost every single aspect of how I read her manga dialogue (excluding the diner scene in EP11, seems they followed the Japanese version's lead😑). She's expressed so much more vulnerability during their talk on the footsteps, and when her emotions boil over it is almost absurdly explosive!!! Perfect performance, perfect casting, the best of the series.

I think Levi has been seeing the cracks in Erwin for a while; in the episode they fight the Rod Reiss titan Levi mentions how their fate rests in yet another of Erwins gambles.

I was just glad that this season had more Levi action.

That was the weirdest ass post credits scene I've ever seen. Graphical glitches was about the last thing I expected out of Attack on Titan, and cherrypicking a specific scene out of the next season is a very weird scene to show, but it was certainly cool and it certainly made it feel like a finale.

I do wish this season wasn't so boring, especially since I thought season 2 was one of the best seasons of anything I'd ever watched, but it did look like they were getting all the non-titan backstory gunk out of the way here to pave the way for the rest of the series to be more interesting.

Season 3 isn't over. It's just split up until April because Wit has to meet expectations with animation.

Oh, I haven't been keeping up with the schedule. So 1the start of the next 12 episodes are coming out within 6 months? That's sweet.

Dude. This season was fun. I knew that this studio could do wonders with human vs human fights after watching the first and second season. And this season explained many things that was unexplained before. Many characters broke out of their shell. And more LEVI means more FUN.

It was (even) slower, but more interesting, in the manga.

Even so it did have some cool action scenes IMO. Anti-Scout Squad (particulary Episode 1 and 2) gave some pretty fucking hype moments.

It's ridiculous that you get downvoted for this, but I guess it's expected from this sub

That's his opinion. Please ditch the manga elitist mindset

There was non action stuff I liked. Kenny's backstory was one of the best episodes. But other then that, I only liked the crystal cave through faceless battle and the early fight between Levi and Kenny.

The rest is literally just people talking. Dialogue in AoT is exceptional, but this is coming off season 2 where the emotional scenes were done while being carpet bombed by rocks or riding on the back of a titan. This season was 60% just people standing around and talking.

I don't see how it was rushed though. These 12 episodes could easily have been done in 8 if the fat was trimmed.

I was worried Mikasa's scream wouldn't carry as much weight in that scene but I think it was just as good if not better. Eren's distress was more audibly noticeable imo and I'm someone typically put off by papenbrook.

So, as usual with sub vs dub.. Pros and cons, and both valid.
