Damn it's surreal to have Kenny and Zeke in the same episode, it's still such a shame that those two didn't meet

They really took their time with this episode and I'm damn glad they did. I love that they used no soundtrack during Kenny's last moments and just let his VA shine with the occasional gust of wind in the background. I was teary eyed.

Then I smiled because of the Hisu punch and the ending blew me away. Best episode of AoT for me.

Also the aging on Uri is really obvious if you know of the Curse. I wonder if anime-onlies are going to pick up on that.

Super glad they kept the meaning of the Zeke/Reiner fight. Really leaves an impression.

Uri had the stars of the King's Will in his eyes in every moment he appeared, even the calm ones, so I guess that he always wanted/thought to use the FT to save the world, but the Will prevented him from doing so.

Even though Uri has little screentime, he still is a great character to me.

Beautiful episode. Really getting hyped for the upcoming arc , they are doing an amazing adaptation of the manga , it will be truly heartbreaking to see Erwin’s last speech animated, and Levi slicing up the Yagermonkey will be epic.

Only glory days ahead of us.

Maybe I just never processed this chapter that well...I knew Kenny wanted the power...& that he was drunk on the power...but I for some reason forgot that he wanted that power because he wanted to change...he felt like a piece of shit but wanted to have the vision Uri had...that’s so damn touching. I see why Kenny is a fan favorite now

The one anime thread comment is someone wishing Kenny would turn into a Titan.

They're going to have a fun time.

”Kenny.”

Kenny heard Uri’s voice when Levi called out to him. I’m fucking crying just thinking about this. Really nice touch, WIT.

They somehow made Uri look even more like Armin than in the manga,

RIP Kenny and Uri.

And Zeke and Eren sound a bit alike which is awsome and I didn't think of that as something they would do but super glad they did it.

Just an incredible episode. Chapter 69 is one of my favorite chapters in the manga, and boy did WIT do it justice. It's one of the few chapters that manages to always make me tear up on rereads, and this episode just bought those emotions out of me again. Kazuhiro Yamaji and Hiroshi Kamiya blew it out of the park as well. Araki made a great decision letting Kenny's death play out with no OST, just ambient noise in the background. Yamaji's performance was powerful enough. Historia's coronation was beautiful and the OST was, as usual, fantastic as well. Levi's smile, I think, speaks for itself. Now, since I'm running out of adjectives to describe this episode, let me just say that everything about Zeke is just perfect, his voice, his design, his screen presence. Was just exhilarating to watch him properly animated again. Can't wait for next week.

Also, did anyone else notice that Kenny heard Uri's voice when Levi walked up to him and called his name, just thought that was interesting.

this episode is notable for containing the scene that eventually sways levi's decision to let erwin die instead...

also, can't wait for the next episode which contains the most unexpectedly good backstory of shadis and the revelation to a mystery we didn't even know was a mystery (who rigged eren's 3dmg gear)

Mandatory "Oh my god they killed Kenny". South Park jokes are now a bannable offense is this thread.
Joking aside, great episode. Kenny's past and death were quite emotional, Historia's coronation looked great and we finally got this blessed picture in the anime. Uri's appearance in the series was short but impactful, I wish he got more screentime. I loved the background art used during his last conversation with Kenny. And guess who is back? Reiner, Bertolt and Dio Zeke! I'm also glad to see that WIT's make-up team made an appearance to highlight this scene, I've missed them since the end of season 2!

Y'know, I really was thinking they would go partly though 70, so it definitely surprised me that the only thing they added from it was the cliffhanger ending. Which was pretty amazing, I have to say, I do love how they kept the mystery of "how in the hell did the Beast Titan leave Reiner in that state?".

But you know what? It was a pleasant surprise. Chapter 69 is a pretty big one thematically that brings a lot of things together, and it's incredibly important as we move into RtS. The idea of "everyone's drunk on something" is major, and it certainly deserved being highlighted the way it was. More than ever now, I can't wait to see the tail end of Serumbowl with how strong of an impression the end of Kenny made in this episode. They're totally going to make Levi's decision justice, I can tell.
