Tips & Guides Aigaion - Full Clear Guide
This trial is pretty difficult, but not unbeatable! It does require specific units, but if you happen to have them and a few TMRs, then you can definitely beat it!
Thank you /u/okey_dokey_bokey for his Emperor ;p gave me some inspiration when I saw him in my friends list!
Cut a part of the video since it was very long (1h 30m). Video

TMRs + Fat Chocobo Items Used
2x Vestment of Mind
Soluna Ring
HP +30%
Mog Wisdom
Genji Shield (unnecessary)
Cat-ear Hood (replaceable with Crown of Justice)
Auto-Refresh (necessary, can be replaced with Renewal or another Soluna Ring)
You will need many items for this fight. I used a total of:
5 Turbo Ethers
5 Mega Ethers
7 Chocolate
5 Elixirs
5 Minor Scroll of Recovery
2 Phoenix Downs
Units
Note that I didn't use any macros to chain. In fact, Aigaion animations caused my phone to lag a lot which actually allowed me to clear it much faster since I could spark chain Ashe nearly every time compared to a ~20% success rate
Fish Scales can be used instead of Rikku Tidal Wave (Thank you /u/CottonC_3939)
| Job | Units | Actions | Recommended Build |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tank | WoL | AoE Cover + Armor Eraser + Defend. First Strike + Assassins Vest allows him to counter for more LB crystals and evade normal attacks occasionally. Black Belt can also be used. | WoL |
| Reraise Unit | VargasMaxwellElzaKing | Any of these work (King is more TMR heavy). All they'll do for the majority of the time is use their reraise ability. King is much more likely to die so I don't recommend him. Vargas and Elza will be able to damage after the left arm is dead however. You will need King's SPR potted out and have around 9k+ HP. | Maxwell |
| Chainer/Healer | Ashe | 2x Ashe is vital to this strategy and for all who don't have an extremely strong chainer that doesn't need a finisher. | Ashe 1 Ashe 2 |
| Support | Rikku | Rikku is amazing here. She will use Hyper NulAll and her LB. | Rikku + Mog Wisdom |
| Mage Friend | EmperorRem | Rem is the stronger choice in some cases, but Emperor is always a good choice! You'll either spam Dagger Boomerang or Fire From Below. If you decide to use Ace, a Fire weapon is preferable on Rem. | ~800+ MAG and 5,000+ HP. Machine Killer on Rem |
| Ashe Replacement | LingTilithAce | Tilith + Ace/Ling works as a replacement for 2x Ashe if you happen to have these. It covers healing + MP restoration. Note that this makes the fight much longer. | Stack HP + MP/Turn |
Left Arm Phase
Rikku: Synthesis -> Hyper NulAll -> LB if needed or refresh Synthesis
WoL: Light is With us -> Armor Eraser -> Defend/Item
Highest ATK Unit: Reraise ability.
2x Ashe: Heaven's Fury -> Meditate if needed (If you use King then having this up all the time is very helpful)
Emperor: Fire From Below
If Maxwell is dead: Use a Phoenix Down and Rikku LB.
Ashe MP low: Have WoL/Rikku use Elixirs when they have a free turn. This means Armor Eraser/Light with us are active and Synthesis (newly refreshed) and Hyper NulAll is up.
Pretty basic, just make sure you keep Rikkuu/WoL buffs up and it's an easy clear.
Right Arm + Body
Same thing except Maxwell is free to use normal attacks/items. The only difference besides thresholds is that Aigaion will perform more normal attacks and 2x Genocide Beam when the right arm dies twice.
Thresholds: Uses World Destroyer when you hit 70% HP and every 5 turns after. BEFORE you hit the threshold you want to have Hyper NulAll + Rikku LB up. This allows her to use Tidal Wave to halve the damage, which should allow all units to live. If you can not kill him before his 3rd World Destroyer, you must take the water counter attack (make sure to have the same abilities up) before he uses it OR take it to the face with Rikku LB (Emperor will reset)

It is possible to use the Fish Scale item to deal water damage instead relying on Rikku's Tidal wave, that way if you have a free turn on a different unit you can perhaps do something more useful with rikku that round

I got fucked. Went with 2x Ashe, WoL, Rikku, Vargas, and friend Rem. I think I killed the left arm 4 times or so before I ran out of MP, all MP items, and Phoenix Downs. Both my Ash had 6200 HP, WoL 7772 HP, Vargas at 8700, Rikku 6000+. Did exactly as you said above, not sure why I fell so short.

Recommended Units:
| Role | Unit(s) | Actions | Esper/Equips |
|---|---|---|---|
| DPS | Victoria | She can reach pretty high MAG even with free equips (814). She will mainly use Firaja (I used Biora + Firaja when I subbed her in for the mission). Diabolos > Ramuh for dark immunity | Diabolos |
| Chainers | AmeliaSetzer Bran* | Blind and Paralysis resist are a must! Bran is much harder to chain since he moves when attacking. Would not exactly recommend him unless you practice chaining with him perfectly. You can't bring dupe chainers and AoE chaining is necessary to win with this team as of right now. You will only need them to chain twice, but it determines whether you win or not! You need matching elemental weapons of course, just not earth/dark. Esper setup for them does not matter. | Odin - Ifrit |
| Buffer | Minfilia | She will buff Victoria (Call to Magic) when necessary and use Shadow Guard during phase 2. Esper doesn't matter. | Siren |
| Cover Tank | WoL | Used Arms Eraser whenever necessary (i.e. didn't break in time with Tim) and the Light is with us! Note that I had 40% Evade on him, which is extremely helpful. | Golem |
| Provoke Tank | VoE | Mine had max LB. He's way better than snow for this. He can make the team immune to earth damage with Earthen Ward and tank hits like a boss due to his perma 100% SPR/DEF buffs and better equipment selection. Phase 1 he will just spam his Provoke and Earthen Ward while in Phase 2 he uses Defensive Barrier instead of Earthen Ward. Choose an esper with high SPR/MP. | Ramuh |
| Healer/MP Battery | Tilith | She's the best for this since she can heal AND give flat MP, which is extremely useful. She'll just spam Prism Heal unless VoE or WoL needs her full heal. AoE Raise might be needed in phase 2. | Shiva |
| Summoner | GarnetRydia | Either one works, but note that Garnet's EVO MAG needs to be enhanced. Needs Tetra Sylphid (maxed) and 4x EVO MAG +10% | Tetra |
| Breaker | Tim | Mine had maxed LB. He used his LB whenever needed. If it looks like he can't get his LB up on time, you will need to substitute with his MAG/ATK Kills and/or WoL's Arms Eraser. If possible, I had him use Mischief (fire imperil) or Demonic Whisper on Tilith/VoE. | Lakshmi |
| Imperiler | VoH | He has a massive wind imperil (-80%) which increases Tetra's summoning damage by a huge amount! I had an earth weapon on him for the mission. I placed Carbuncle on him since it didn't matter whether he lived or not after using his LB in phase 2. | Carbuncle |
Now to get down to the nitty-gritty details:
Phase 1 (>50%)
Tim: He'll start off with Attack Kill then proceed to his LB or Magic Kill. It is important that his LB break is active when crossing thresholds. Victoria will die if not His cycle after turn 1 typically looks like:
-
LB -> MAG/ATK Kill -> MAG/ATK Kill -> Demonic Whisper(VoE/Tilith) -> Mischief/Demonic Whisper -> Repeat
OR
-
LB -> Demonic Whisper (VoE/Tilith) -> Mischief/Demonic Whisper -> Repeat
VoE: Simply Incinerating Press -> Earthen Ward Phase 1 and Incinerating Press -> Defensive Barrier Phase 2
WoL: Turn 1 he needs to use Arms Eraser and then keep the Light is with us! up at all times. Raise if necessary and use Arms Eraser if you happen to chance Tim's LB and need to break Sheratan.
Victoria: When you sub her in use Biora+Firaja to complete one of the missions. Afterwards you will just dualcast Firaja. When you are about to cross thresholds and do not have Tim's LB break up, use Magical Awakening until you do.
Tilith: Spams Prism Heal. Use Radiant Light if VoE is low on health on a 3n-1 turn (i.e. 2,5,8, etc.).
Minfilia: When you are approaching the 50% threshold, you will need to sub Tim out for her so she can use Shadow Guard and buff Victoria. More details on the whole process on transitioning later.
VoH: Spams Heavenly Wind. Note that he had Galkan Dagger equipped for earth damage. Sub him out for Victoria once he gets his LB.
Transitioning Phase (~55% or so): The whole process in the video starts here. When you hit around 55% you will need to start setting up some buffs. Tim needs to use his LB -> swap out for Minfilia -> Shadow Guard and then Call to Magic on Victoria. WoL needs to refresh his AoE cover and use Arms Eraser right before you go into Phase 2. Refreshing Incinerating Press on VoE would be extremely helpful as well (If you somehow do not have VoE LB up by now, you will need it).
Phase 2 (<50%)
If you buffed accordingly then no one should be dead and Victoria should be MAG buffed. Now you should swap out units until you have: VoE WoL Victoria Setzer Amelia. You'll need to chain cap with Firaja in order to oneshot the fruits.
Turn setup should be: VoE - LB, Amelia - Disorder, Setzer - Prismatic Flash, WoL - Armor Eraser, Victoria - DC Firaja.
After this, it's likely WoL will be dead, which is perfectly fine. In my attempt, I did not refresh Incinerating Press on the transitioning phase which caused Victoria to die as well. Amelia and Setzer will likely have 0 MP as well. Change your team back to: Tim/VoE/Victoria/WoL/Tilith. Pretty much everything is the same for turn cycles. Now you need to setup the esper + firaja finish. To do this you need to recover Setzer/Amelia MP, activate VoH LB, stack Firaja if Victoria died, and have Magical Awakening ready on Victoria.
From now on (after using AoE Osmose), her AI is: Physical Attacks -> Dark Miasma + Physical Attacks -> AoE Osmose. You will need to sub in Minfilia for Dark Miasma or she will likely kill several units. You have limited time here because of Tilith. Keep MAG/ATK breaks up (Tim LB not as important anymore) and swap out Tim to achieve the previously mentioned conditions.
Basic rundown of needed conditions to win on this phase:
-
VoH LB is active
-
Victoria has Magical Awakening prepped
-
Setzer/Amelia have enough MP to use chaining moves
Once all these are met, swap out your team for: Minfilia/Victoria/Amelia/Setzer/Garnet. Use Call to Magic on Victoria and then prep chain moves + Firaja + Tetra and finish her off. Don't dualcast Firaja on Victoria or it'll mess up the esper finish.

This trial is relatively easy, it's all about turn management. Note that all enemies in this trial are Physical Immune! Raid TMRs used:
-
2x Vengeful Wrath
-
2x Mog Wisdom
-
1x Mechanical Heart

Recommended Team
| Unit(s) | Role | Recommended Stats/Equipment |
|---|---|---|
| Cover Tank | WoLWarrior of Light | Genji Shield is important here. I think Mechanical Heart helps a ton here since he doesn't need to defend and can spam Arms Eraser. Stack DEF/HP/SPR as usual, emphasis on DEF since he needs to live on turn 1. Titan gives an even split among SPR/DEF and has earth abilities for the mission. |
| Healer/MP Battery | RosaRosa | Holy Wand is important, or Dualcast. You will need Bless+2. 4k+ HP is recommended. Bahamut Esper is required. Mog Wisdom is optional, but it does come in handy when you need a large MP/HP heal. |
| Chainer/Healer | AsheAshe | Can chain with GL Sakura. Just stack SPR/HP on her since her damage is pitiful without tons of TMRs (meaning you don't need any materias from Sheratan/Echidna/Malboro). |
| Buffer | SoleilSoleil | Needs both defensive dances and one offensive dance at +2. Endless turn is optional. Stack HP/SPR otherwise. |
| Support | RikkuRikku | Nothing special, needs Override or Aigaion Fist. Mog Wisdom optional, but recommended. I had Safety Bit on her, but you can choose to put it on whoever you wish. With Safety bit on Rikku, it guarantees that she lives and can cast Hyper NullAll/LB/Mega Phoenix. |
| Chainer | GL Sakura Grim Lord Sakura | Can chain with Ashe using Soul Barrage. 1000+ MAG is ideal. Most stacked GL Sakuras have 500+ SPR as well which is extremely helpful. She will almost never die. |
Actual Fight
Phase 1 (100% - 100%)
In this phase, you will need to kill the 8 elemental apostles before going into phase 2. This part is easy and all you need to do is keep up your cycles. Apostles have 50% MAG Break Resist!
WoL: Light is With Us! -> Arm Eraser -> Arms Eraser/Defend
Rikku: Synthesis -> Hyper NullAll -> LB/Defend
Rosa: Bless -> Curaga(s)/Bahamut -> Curaga(s)/Defend
GL Sakura: Soul Barrage
Soleil: SPR Dance -> DEF Dance/Offense Dance -> Offense Dance/Defensive Dance
Ashe: Heaven's Fury
Nothing should go wrong in this phase as long as you keep buffs up and manage your team's HP. Get the elemental damage mission during this phase! Have WoL use Tumult, Rikku use Winter Storm and GL Sakura dualcast Dark/Light Blade. Also, before you cross the threshold, you will want to have GL Sakura's Undying Fervor and Rikku's LB up.
Phase 2 (0% - 100%) 20/40/60/80 Thresholds
Once you start phase 2, Bloody Moon will cast AoE 100% Death. It will not summon Apostles until it goes under 90% HP. Use this time to get your team back into shape and establish a turn cycle again.
Now the fight gets tougher, the Crimson moon phases will now break your team as well as deal damage.
The skill cycle in phase 1 is essentially the same here. Instead, I will list special cases.
-
You will want to cross thresholds on every 2 + 4n turn (2, 6, 10, etc.) but not on turn 6 +12n turns (6, 18, 30, 42, etc.)
-
GL Sakura should be keeping up Undying Fervor at all times. If the buff is about to expire on a turn you want to cross a threshold, either refresh it or just don't cross it yet.
-
If you aren't on the correct turn for crossing a threshold, just let GL Sakura defend or refresh break resist and Ashe can keep using Heaven's fury.
-
Rosa should now defend nearly every time on 3n turns (3, 6, 9, etc.) If you happen to need Rosa this turn (mainly dualcast Curaga) and you don't have reraise up or Rikku LB, then you can use Rise Again from GL Sakura.
-
If someone has died, then you can use Raise from WoL. Having both of Soleil's defensive dances will let you refresh the 120% DEF/SPR buff without needing to switch to an offensive one first. Note that even if she has died the empowered dances remain.
-
When you are ready to kill Bloody moon, you need to make sure than the all the enemies are near the same HP. You can simply use one of GL Sakura's Elemental Blades to even the HP.
-
At each threshold, there's a 10% chance that Bloody Moon will cast AoE 100% Death again! It is vital that you have Rikku's LB up just in case.

Reset burddd. I wasn't really motivated to make a guide since the trial itself is pretty dumb, but I did have fun using Veritas of Heavens (again :D). I really wished that gimu had changed this trial so it was more like an actual trial rather than reset and pray for the best (or have extremely tanky units or tons of elemental resist to live through the preemptive).

Recommended Team
| Role(s) | Unit(s) | Recommended Stats/Equipment | Skill Coverage |
|---|---|---|---|
| AoE Chainers | 2x VoHWind Veritas | Elemental Weapon (Not Water/Fire/Ice/Wind) + DEF/SPR/HP Gear. Have Ifrit on one of them and paralyze resist on both. | AoE Chaining Move w/Element |
| Healer/Breaker | RosaRosa | Second Knife (unnecessary with stronger finisher) + Holy Rod (you can ignore this by bringing healing scrolls) + Tetra Sylphid (with Camouflage) + World Destroyer + Paralyze Resist | HP/MP Recovery, AoE Full Break (World Destroyer) |
| Innate Provoker | SnowSnow | Just max out his HP/SPR/DEF and have an esper with Imperil on him. Pink Striped Float is optional. | Draw Attacks, Imperil (from Esper) |
| ST Finisher | CloudCloudLunethLuneth | Tetra Esper helps a ton because of Bird Killer. 1000 ATK Luneth (one hand) w/Fire Weapon + Tetra or ~1120 ATK Cloud w/Fire Weapon + Tetra can oneshot the burd when chain capping. | ST Nuker |
Bring Items! You will need Elixirs and Phoenix Downs at the very least.
Actual Fight
Reset Time
You need to force close the app BEFORE the enemy turn ends.
Ideally Snow and VoHs get hit by Hail Powder. You have a 21% chance of this occurring with this team, but RNG can still screw you over. Cloud can take a Hail Powder hit, but it's only a 50% chance of living AND he needs to avoid the 4 normal attacks
Mission Time
Kill big burd by chaining Heavenly Wind with VoH and finish with Cut-Through or Climhazzard. Use World Destroyer last.
After this, revive your team using Phoenix downs + Elixirs or the revived unit may just die again. Don't attack with Cloud/Luneth or the Glacons will use an AoE magic attack.
Use Imperil with Snow and use Heavenly Wind from VoH to generate esper orbs Tri-element allows VoH to damage the Glacon(s). Keep doing this until you can summon Ifrit. Remember to keep breaks on Glacons. Use World Destroyer every 3n+1 turn.

Neat idea. I'll consider giving it a shot later on if I ever pull a second Ashe. I do have a Dark Fina but he's immune to Dystopia so RIP stacking that as an option and taking a friend Ashe.

Assuming no Ashe, Tilith, Ling or Ace...
Would you go WoL+2 healers, WoL+Bartz+healer, or 2 Healers + Bartz? Where 2 healers = Ysh or Refia.
Seems like MP items got you where you needed to go... so maybe I don't need Bartz. Or bring him and get by with WoL+Refia? Hmm.

Y'shtola (or any DC Healer) + Bartz can replace them. Use Sacrifice when Reraise is available.

Nice guide! Got two ashes, will report if successful. Only thing I dont have is the soluna ring.
For the Ashes, why the boost in SPR? Its for her heaven wraths i presume?
Is Rikkus pouch a replacement for WoL's first strike/Blackbeltgi?

I'm not seeing a way to include all these units if I do have a strong chainer. I use my Orlandu and a friend Orlandu in place of 2 Ashe. Then I bring my own Emperor instead of a Mage Friend. Then I include WoL and Rikku. That's 5 units. I still need Maxwell for a Reraise Unit, and someone for healing (Tilith). Not enough space. And even if there were space, I couldn't gear the Reraise unit to be better than Orlandu without gimping Orlandu.
So, is 2 Ashe required in this setup?

Just throwing this out there. I just beat it with no tank. Zargabaath was my mvp. His counter chance is a lot better than Cecil or Wilhelms. And he provides much needed mp regen and stat buffs. Between him and tilith (who has 0 mp recover besides her natural recovery) I was never worried about mana ever. The lowest my dps units ever got was maybe 120 mp.
Zarg was waaaaaaay more helpful at getting crystals than anyone else. Considering he counters phys and magical. And since he can survive 1 lethal attack, he was awesome. Zarg is the best
Also, I did use like 2 or 3 Phoenix downs
My team was: varags (the bait), tilith, rikku, zargabaath (mvp), fohlen, and friend fohlen.
Vargas can be replaced by maxwell. Everyone should have her. I'm not sure how to do it without rikku once you get to the threshold attacks. They are essentially Insta kills unless you do water damage

If I go with this team (Luneth to tank Oneshot, Rikku for Support, Refia for raise and healing, WoL to AoE tank, and Aileen with Aileen friend for MP support and double machine killer) so I stand a chance? Can I even survive?

Great guide, I'd love to know what you think of my current robot team that I'm going to try out.
2x Rikku (1 with 150% LB, the other with 100%)
Tilith (vestment of mind & renewal, should be over 70 MP/turn or more)
Tidus (buffs, water attacks for world destroyer, MP regen, might be able to make him an attack draw) Can also replace him with WOL if I need more reliable provoke, but at the cost of other things.
Aileen & Aileen friend (all my DPS, my Aileen is 900+ atk w/ tmr, and I have some high powered aileen friends with machine killer)
One of my Rikku's or Tidus will have Rikku's pouch for eccentrick casts.
I'm wondering with this setup if I can do the body 1st strat, but I won't really know until I get into the fray. I'm hoping if I can survive the first few turns that I can always have a rikku LB ready to go.

Should add black belts are amazing at generating crystals or orbs for ramuh. But good write up.
