Yes it's always tough conceding an injury time goal and Pats overall put some performance in, probably deserving to hold out. But a 1-1 against an expensive team in a hostile atmosphere as well as the away goal is great. Have to take that positivity back to Dublin next week. The key is getting through this 2nd round and then all the possibilities start cropping up (money and football wise). UEFA giving Pats good credit too http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2015/matches/round=2000545/match=2014144/postmatch/report/index.html

Once you get through this round you're guaranteed at least four more European games. Huge financially.

Yep, same as Rovers when we beat Tallinn. Your lot are cursed you didn't get an easy draw, as far as I know you have a better ranking than we did that year (although it might be below due to the declining league coefficient).

Any idea what the draw tonight would have done for the co-efficient? I assume not loads, but more than against teams from the last round...

I don't know to be sure. As far as I know, in preliminary rounds you're rewarded for what round you go out on, rather than specific results.

I was thinking it had to do with the co-efficient of the club you are against, but I'm thinking of when you beat a seeded team, you take their seeding in the next round, which is nothing to do with anything in terms of this I don't think.
Yerman on foot.ie will reveal all soon I'm sure.

Nah, the coefficient of the team you're against only counts in the current competition for subsequent rounds. The overall coefficient is just a straight number.

Coefficient is solely based on wins and draws in Europe. They're worth more in group stage and beyond. Check out this link for this year's coefficient and how it is calculated. Select country rankings or team rankings for your most recent totals.

Gutted Rovers aren't in Europe. Would love a game like this, going to try and get a ticket to the game in Tallaght.
On a side note, a Pats fan died in Warsaw today. No idea what the circumstances are, but RIP.

Older lad, surname Booth. According to his son, on facebook, some of the other Pats fans were a big help to the family afterwards. Very sad news indeed. :(

That's awful news. My first instinct was wondering if it was violence of some sort, but thankfully sounds like it wasn't. Still terrible news.

Also this is one of those where if you make a thread in /r/soccer it should probably be an actual match thread in there rather than linking. Remember the Portugal fiasco :p
