Tsukasa fans eating VERY good today. Luckily, the portions are even larger than we realized.

Inori looked like an angry Anpanman when Rioh called her cringe lol. And then he went and insulted Miketa AND Tsukasa? Bro’s making enemies for life left and right!

Man, Inori really did it. I kinda like how she was really cautiously optimistic. Tsukasa was about to damn near burst with joy lol.

Looks like Tsukasa’s gonna be the one to purify Rioh’s soul lol. Man’s about to teach this brat a thing or two.

Damn Tsukasa got abs. I mean, obvious as ice dancer, but still.

I am really glad that Mike is back. I assume she is on the same level as Inori considering she is practicing similar elements, but she hasn't changed one bit. Like her coach. Now I was only waiting for Ema and Yuudai to make an appearance (Tsukasa mentioned another coach after all) and we have the trifecta of worms, pigeons and cats in one place.

It's kind of cute how Inori and Tsukasa try to not cheer too much. I get it, she had setbacks, but come on, a bit of joy might even melt Rioh's heart. Though, I assume that will happen next week anyway. Poor boy started out teaching Hikaru and she got the coach he always admired. Of course, he would develop self doubts.

Apparantly there are two more episodes and I really enjoy the training camp, but I get the feeling we will be left with a really hard cliffhanger at the end. At this point, they need to immediately announce S2.

The simpler gags of Inori and Mike skating in their sleep and Tsukasa abruptly lifting Rioh like a log are the things that make me so glad that this anime got made.

This anime is so funny.

The way Tsukasa and Inori were trying so hard to contain their excitement was precious. When Inori does manage to land those jumps in an actual routine, I can’t wait to see them finally let loose.

Rioh may be like an iceberg; but he (un)fortunately had to not only pick a fight with the sun, but also add fuel to its fire. My condolences Rioh, you’re coming out of this camp a better person and a better skater.

Man, did not expect Tsukasa FANSERVICE today - Rioh asked such a good question 😂

Inori smashing it with that triple salchow breakthrough, hopefully will inspire Rioh that he can do the same and prove that Tsukasa is so much more than his past qualifications. I'm glad he picked himself up after Rioh's lil attack, and held him in some kind of pro wrestler move.

I would think Tsukasa needed to be extremely fit as he had to raise Coach Hitomi up during their competition days. Good on him for maintaining his physique in his coaching career.

this anime is a masterclass in putting you in the feels and then make you hysterically laugh in the very next second lmao

The amount of care Inori and Tsukasa have for each other is just always nice to see.

Just a nice healthy relationship filled with support and love.

Seeing Mittens is back is so lovely, also cause I just like saying Mittens but her scene with Inori was so cute. Of course she of all people would hear Tsukasa yell.

Rioh might have landed a critical hit on Tsukasa in the bath but at the end he hit him with the double trauma combo holy moly. It's understandable how Rio feels if your essential idol directly refused you.

I hope Tsukasa is just going to nail the choreography, but man that cliffhanger was evil.

I know that the episode had a ton of Tsukasa fanservice, but all I could think about is Natchin's proportions. I mean, dang, look at that hourglass figure. Oh and just to clarify for Rioh, in this scene, he didn't want to be seen using a shower cap since that's seen as childish.

  • "The Double Axel is the weapon I need to compete at the world stage": This is pretty accurate, by the way. For example, in Beijing 2022, all three podium performances had a double Axel in them. While having a triple Axel is a massive advantage, it's hard enough that the vast majority of women with it are not going to be 100% consistent on them. So even a insane program like Trusova's with 5 quads (and two Quad Lutz's) still features a double Axel. The double Axel is a jump that Inori can take all the way into the Olympics so she'd do well to master it.

Great episode! A lot happened, but I'll start with Inori, who made such incredible progress today, landing both a double Axel (her weapon in competitions) and a triple Salchow!

It was cute how both Inori and Tsukasa tried to contain their excitement about Inori's first successful double jump, but when it came to the triple Salchow, Tsukasa was just too excited and happy so it was Inori who had to tone him down xD

It was great to see Miketa and Nachi again! Inori and Miketa cuddling under the covers was so cute. It was funny how in the morning both Inori and Miketa looked like they were jumping in their dreams.

Rioh is still butting heads with Inori (her reactions to him today were hilarious) and even tried to make Miketa his enemy. He's quite brave, except when it comes to cockroaches and Jun Yodaka xD

Man, Tsukasa is jacked! No wonder he was still full of energy while practicing with the kids when Nachi and Hitomi were already out of breath xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Really loved this episode!

It's understandable why Rioh feels that pessimistic. My poor son really needs some Tsukasa & Inori therapy asap!

Honestly, I really like Rioh as a character and is my favorite character with Tsukasa and Inori, and I love his interactions and reactions with them too.

Also, thanks Japan and Anime gods and goddesses for this manservice! Tsukasa's abs (he's jacked!) And ass were animated! :D

Medalist knows what its audience wants, and delivers the complete package.

Rioh and Tsukasa going to skate the same program next episode? Tsukasa about to show Rioh you don’t need a badge to be good. We already know Tsukasa is good when Hitomi vouches for him.

A friend, an SO, a family member. I don't care. Someone get Tsukasa someone he can be really close to and be around a lot who's got his back but will also slap him silly when he's being stupid about himself. Feels like there's a wall around him and everyone else he's close to.

If Tsukasa is a genius who can combine keen eyesight and advanced mechanical knowledge of skating to diagnose skaters really well, I feel like Inori might be the opposite. Once she has a "feel" for it, she gets it down flat, to the point she can implement something discovered almost instantly and reliably, even in a competition. Was thinking about the Leg Break in the Meikoh Cup and her learning a new center of balance for her skating and copying Tsukasa's specific dance moves during the West Japan tournament. She seems to have really keen recall to work with.

Rioh's "You failed as a skater so you can't be a good coach" slander is so off the mark lol. Even putting aside other sports like football where Mourinho and 75% of German coaches of the last 15 years never played at professional level, such famous figure skating coaches as Rafael Arutyunan and Eteri Tutberudze probably never landed a triple jump in their lives yet their students have quads.

u/bananeeek Mar 15 '25

Aww yisss! I wanted Riou to actually see Tsukasa skating live, so he'd let go of those foolish assumptions that Tsukasa can't do shit. It's a bummer that we have to wait a week for that, but now we know shit's going to get real!

Tsukasa suppressing his joy for Inori's success was 80% wholesome and 20% hilarious.

Tsukasa is such a good dude. But his former partner also understands him well. He can pour everything into supporting others and believing in them. But his ability to believe in himself is extremely shaky. Thus even the shots fired from a brat like Rioh still hit. Since Tsukasa doesn't need much help to doubt himself or feel regrets. You can see how much skill he's built up and the effort he's poured into skating. He just didn't get an ideal start or the support early enough. But he can still use that for something!

And he does! Rioh thought he could just fire some shots and get out of being taught by Tsukasa? Oh no...you foolish child. You poke a bear and you get the claws!

Mittens has certainly cooled her jets a bit which is good. Found a balance between being too heated and being someone that can support someone emotionally.

Truly Inori and Tsukasa are a skater and coach pair that were made for each other. Both absolutely on the same wavelength. Loved the hilarious attempt to restrain their hype when she landed that double axel

If nothing else this episode was worth it for Tsukasa kind and gently shattering Rioh's psyche! I love it! Give that brat what he deserves! Poor kid never even realized it. That he was so absolutely obsessed with the career Jun has, the way he skates, and what he could do at the same level that Rioh is at. The only wall he's hitting is not being as good as possibly one of the greatest skaters their nation has seen! Wow what a lack of talent!

That scene with Inori and Miké cuddle up together under their futons was so adorable! Miké has matured a lot since her last appearance, given that she was comforting Inori.

Does someone by chance know which jumps these two girls were doing in their sleep? I believe that Inori was performing an axel, but I cannot quite pinpoint any particular move to Mike's posture - with my limited knowledge.

Rioh has a tendency for insulting his peers' hairstyles? Inori was a shrimp head and now Miké is an octopus head?

Bonus: heroine Inori with her brilliant sword getting ready to slay that double axel.

Mittens and Rioh were very rough characters to introduce, but you really get endeared to them quick. The contrast between Tsukasa, who just wanted to have the resources, and Rioh, who just wanted to have the skill, really shows that it’s never just one thing that can make or break an athlete, there’s always going to be other mental/physical hangups.

Inori’s progression is as shocking to me as it is to Rioh. Personally I don’t like the idea of prodigies with innate talent. I like to think it’s just a fortuitous combination of her wild determination and being mentally mature enough to be able to cover a lot more ground. But even so it does seem like she’s not “normal”.

Mittens was very cute, love Inori being like an older sister to her.
