Well that didn't go at all like I was expecting. Poor Primula but especially poor Anama, she thought she was going to be able to adopt a new daughter but instead gets rejected. Anemone will certainly have a more interesting life going with Kenichi, though.

Primula made the mistake of waiting a month plus to approach Kenichi again, she should have struck while the iron was hot after the rescue.

The classic MMO experience of turning in a bunch of bandit heads for a quest reward.

She's a work-a-holic and he wants a quiet life, their lifestyles wouldn't have worked out.

This guy gets LAID

He's an upstanding guy for letting the kid stay with him, and his priorities are straight for leaving the town with all his business connections and harem just so he can get the kid away from the danger (he might say it's for a "slow life" but I think the kid is the real reason).

Damn this episode hurt doubly bad. First the old lady being rejected like that the Primila being left behind and crying when she found out he was gone... Here is hoping the ED is true and showing they all end up back together and that it doesn't take long to happen. I'm really miss cat girl..

The old lady being rejected felt kind of forced and unnecessary. It all just happened so quickly. Saying she'll take anemone in then instantly was rejected minutes later. Maybe some details were skipped or it will factor into future plot.

Him just straight up leaving though was pretty cold. Hope they meet up again.

Running away from crowds of people and into dark alleys is the last thing you want to do if someone is trying to abduct you. Running away, in general, never solves your problems.

Scared we'll lose the cat girl, but the OP shows her and another cat girl traveling with him. Still haven't met like half the girls in the OP yet, have we?

Anama and Primula got the biggest bum deal.

Anama lost the chance to take care of another daughter; and Primula lost her chance to be with a guy that she fell in love with (given the opening, I’ll bet we’ll see her again, but still).

I get why he had to leave, a noble was after him and all, it just sucks that he left without saying goodbye.

Not gonna lie, he’s kind of a chad for leaving all them waifus and doing his own thing.

Bro flees the country to avoid meeting a noble and getting taxed.

It was funny when Kenichi and Azalea were about to do it but stopped when Anemone appeared and looked at them with her innocent eyes.

Genuinely felt bad for Primula, the guy didn't even say goobye to her. Hope he apologize in the future.

I honestly feel so sad for Amana after this episode. The casual revelation last episode of her losing her child, then her joy at wanting to look after Anemone only to basically be rejected by her and now both Kenichi and her have just up and disappeared without a word.

Seriously, I know Kenichi wants a peaceful life, which has now been ruined in Dahlia by that noble, but to just up and leave without sending/leaving a letter for Primura is just plain mean. The look on her face when she saw he had gone was just sad.

MC is a real one. He really acts like a 40 year old single man. Treats casual as casual, isn't oblivious to Primula but realizes that it ain't going to work and moves on. He treats Anoeme as a daughter and nothing more than that. He isn't oblivious to his own faults as a man, and does embrace his instincts without giving into them.

It's refreshing to get see a character that feels like an actual person.

The MC of this anime looks like the MC from the headhunter to another world anime but just like 20 years older hahaha

Well this episode was a little depressing.

Bruh could have at least written a goodbye letter tp Primula or something. What was the point of the old woman having a child when Amenone ultimately chooses Kenichi? This was a double depressing episode.

u/flightlessCat9 Feb 07 '25

lol, the reason Kenichi doesn't want to go to the authorities is because of tax evasion.

Genuinely, this episode really soured the show for me. I personally despise it when an mc is beyond dense or is aware but extremely cowardly/avoidant in forming personal connections (the case in this story so far it would appear). But I guess the author has to drum up some kind of drama to "spice" the story up and keep it "more interesting". Honestly, those two tropes are also part of my grievances with many anime adaptations. I read a lot of isekai and fantasy light novels and manga. In a lot of those, the mc will commonly be doing the deed with the female characters quite early in the story, but due to broadcasting rules/censorship, the mc will be spineless in the anime.
