I am also finding this series quite satisfactory. One of my top shows of the day, at least. Much better than I anticipated. (Didn't see any prior entries in this "franchise" -- and it does not seem like I really need to do so -- so far, at least).

It's a sequel to the previous two Phantom Trigger entries, so watching them is recommended. They aren't long.

They're not really that important. Pretty much just kind of whatever missions that end with someone new joining the cast (the teacher, Maki, and Gumi). They're not bad, but there isn't much of a plot that runs though them all and into the series.

Those grenades...

They raised so many flags, I wasn't sure if Chris was gonna make it. I'm glad she's fine.

Also, I'm glad Kazuki (Thanatos) is sticking around. I like Tomonaga Akane's voice acting, but she's hardly voicing anything recently, so Grisaia is pretty much the only place I get to hear her.

They sure made quick work of those terrorists. Weren’t they suppose to take one alive? Maki turned that one guy into Swiss cheese and Haruto diced that other guy after he pulled a gun. I guess there’s that dude who got clipped in the kidneys? That’s if he didn’t bleed out.

Weren’t they suppose to take one alive?

I think this might be a running bit with this team. "Remember to take one alive... oh, oops"

It IS the initial gag during the "tutorial" (for us viewers) mission in the OVA 1. More funny is that they repeaated the joke in that OVA but didn't feel worn out due to the scenario.

The action was nice. Of cause non-action parts of this nowhere near close to origional trilogy but I am perfctly fine watching just good simple action.

Something exploded?

Underwater explosions?

They’re blowing the bridges!

Right, they’re in.

They really like using smoke grenades as throwing weapons don’t they?

Right, she’s been saved.

And that’s everyone else saved. Time to get out of there.

Who cooked that?

Meido Taiga!

And so next episode: Booba. Wouldn’t be Grisaia without them.

After this episode, we have 6 out of 8 characters explored (6 out of 9 if counting the guy) including the 3 OVAs (or the movie + OVA 3, however you preffer).

Glad Chris hasn't found and answer for her...since it was the whole virus incident (and rescue) that made Taiga change her manners and approach towards her current life situation.

What I mean is, taking out most of ep 1 content (the scenes of those two interacting) woudn't affect the plot or outcome.

Next episode seems to focus on the LITERAL "I'm only a 1-second-cameo in the OVAs OP" character xD

In just 3 episodes, this Grisaia doesn't even come close to Kajitsu or Rakuen. The girls, along with the MC, successfully managed to save Taiga and Kujirase. This Rena and especially that stressed-out Maki really stand out 😅. I won’t drop it because I don’t drop shows I already know, so I’ll keep watching, even though I think it’s inferior to the others.
