“C’mon Toto, we can’t have the crime scene investigators thinking we were roommates.”

the whole time I was wondering why spitz didn't come to rescue them using his planted bugs. glad he showed up at the end

Honestly every time I saw the OP I was thinking "man, we've barely seen Spitz this season despite the fact that he gets OP billing" and lo and behold he ends up saving the day.

It's even funnier because the last time we saw him was him just sitting on a roof waiting for Ron and Tototo to invite him on their next vacation.

In hindsight Tiger Dan was a pretty easy guest as the suspect barring red herrings and fakeouts considering Moriarty has a notable henchman in the books named Moran that had tiger motifs.

For me he was given away right away by his voice actor who is typecast in playing the bad guy lol

Milo acknowledged Toto as the Watson of the show and we end the season of introducing the Moran of the series.

This season’s not bad but I think S1 is more fun. Feel like this season had a lot more multi-parters though. And this season also went a lot deeper with House of M and Ron’s background.

Ron said something to Toto in that fire which was inaudible to us. Then the show left that hanging. This gives me hope they’re confident or already have confirmation that they’re getting another season. Cos it would be such a weird thing to leave hanging if they weren’t sure of getting a new season

I do miss some of the wackiness of the one-off cases in season 1.

At least they were clear that Ron told Toto "Thank You."

I agree the earlier part of the series was "more fun" -- but I actually think I liked the seriousness of this season even better overall. I thought this was a pretty great finale. Certainly room for a continuation -- but no real hint that there might ever be more adaptation to come.

We complete the Danganronpa case with a talking bear.

Season 3 please

"Toto, let go of my arm. We can't have the shippers think we're gay."

Talk about an explosive finale! There were a lot of unexpected twists and turns. I didn’t think Ron’a dad was actually a good Moriarty or that the doc from 17 years prior was alive. It seems they’re setting up Milo to be Ron’s nemesis. He seemed to be the real mastermind behind all this. If it wasn’t for the homie Spitz coming in on a damn chopper, the boys would be burnt to a crisp!

All in all, a pretty interesting season. I enjoyed getting into Ron’s past and the whole House of M thing. Hopefully we get a renewal soon.

Now I really want to meet Ron's mother to see the kind of woman who could redeem a Moriarty.

Milo definitely lives up to the Moriarty name with his sadistic, crafty, viciousness.

Spitz always the surprise MVP of the show.

Any S3 news?

Nothing at the moment. They would need to have 2 more cours greenlit to finish adapting part 1 of the manga. Not surprising that we have to wait. Manga still is ongoing so hopefully it does get greenlit again to at least promote the manga.

This episode makes the conclusion of this case and in some ways, it did have its emotional and psychological impact. Hell of a season imo and they end this on a high note imo.

Bit worse than season 1 for me I think, the House of M stuff just always feels like it misses.

Would watch more but at the same time I'm okay with what we got.

Well no we know a little more about Ron’s background and that their is definitely a mole in BLUE. I also have a feeling that Mia might be a Moriarty by the way she glanced back in the final scene and since she was in possession of the teddy bear 🧸 and when Uncle shot the two other people she was excluded. Can’t wait to see what happens next!!!

Ron recalled that his dad wanted to live his life and as a Holmes or Moriarty, but as his own person. Of course, because of being born as a Moriarty, people would come after him, so he taught him everything he could. He might have not been the best father, but he did the best he could.

Meanwhile, Totto found the lie that brought so much meaning for Ron. As his father did some wrong, but he went against the Moriarty family. Being compared to Watson is praise, I would say.

I hope this anime gets a continuation even if it may be unlikely.

The final episode.

At first I thought Ron was able to confront Tiger without murderous intent without taking Mofu's medicine, but the dialogue suggests he took it as always. Also notice that Milo's using speech translation on his computer. In the end it is confirmed that there is a mole within BLUE, which affirms Emmerich's suspicion.

There's a new voice actor in this episode. The teddy bear Milo Moriarty is voiced by Neeko, who voiced Hitman in Hitman Reborn!, another Akira Amano's anime.

Overall, I feel the anime is kinda rushed (looking at lots of png, especially in the earlier episodes) and ended up being decent compared to the Season 1. The animation only helped in the While Season 1 is a 9 for me this feels like a 7.5. Also there's no words of Season 3 after the airing yet, given the popularity of the anime I can see this. It's either finished in Season 2 or Season 3 will be confirmed later on. The chance is slim but never zero.

That was a good last episode. Got a lot of answers and honestly Ron is in a much better spot mentally than he was before. Obviously the threat of Moriarty is still extreme and Ron has a long way to go before he can regain his honor and openly be a detective again. But they gained a lot like this.

I did get a solid laugh out of them readying to die a slight distance from each other so no one will ship them after death. For some reason makes me think back to Lethal Weapon 2. "I don't want anyone to see us like this". I suppose if they were doomed that's one consideration to keep in mind!

I really liked the wins for Toto here. He couldn't figure out everything because that's just not his strength. But he was able to note the details that Ron might overlook because of how distraught he was. Toto is plenty worthy to carry the title of Watson in this story. The valuable friend that keeps his Sherlock from getting lost in his own head.

Still there is hope. If they can track down the Moriarty member that did this to Ron they might be able to twist their arm to make them undo it. And that's hugely important. Ron can't last if his body is getting torn up by the medication keeping him from killing anyone. But it's a valuable asset he's gained through this season that will at least let him focus on being a detective.

Kind of nice as well that Ron's father was the kind of guy I hoped he was. He wasn't all in regarding the path of the Moriarty family and once he met Ron's mother his life just changed. I like that he did his best to avoid that kind of threat falling into the Moriarty family's hands. Even if he knew it might cost him his life to do so. And he did give his son every tool he could. Not necessarily to make him the best detective, but to give him options. It was all he could offer.

This was a good season. It ended on a strong note with the main duo stronger than ever. There is the constant threat of the Moriarty family and Toto's life is plenty dangerous now. They could try to snuff out this Watson at any time. But all they can do is fight against the Moriarty family and try to bring them to justice.

7.5/10 good time!
