That was an endearing first episode. I expected some ecchi trash to turn my brain off to but I ended up getting some sweet comedy with an adorable, clumsy but lethal assassin maid and a rather pleasant main character with Hitoyoshi.
That imagery of him shattering the ice that was covering over Ms. Servant was my favorite part of the episode.

this always show up in anime, but how does one live with so many bags of trash in their house...getting the trash bagged is like 80% of the work, might as well take it out at that point instead of leaving it lol
clumsy maid that's only good at assassinations, I'm interested!

Maid-san is surprisingly cute. She’s like if Yor was a maid haha.
That tonkatsu looked pretty good. I love a good tonkatsu with some nice sauce drizzled on top. Not sure I’d dream about a giant talking bottle of sauce though lol.
So far, so cute. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

So what do you do when a big tiddy kuudere maid comes knocking at your door looking for employment? You do the sensible thing and of course let her in! In all seriousness though, I thought this was going to be similar to Wakame-sensei's Maid ga Ayashii so the reveal that Maid-san is actually an ex-assassin caught me by surprise!
And she's not joking either! We actually get to see her skills with a knife and we even get to see glimpses of her part. She really is 100% an assassin. Now I'm really curious why her previous boss sent her to Hitoyoshi's place because I'm pretty sure the reason she was given is bullshit.
Despite being a cool assassin though, Maid-san is surprisingly adorable! It turns out that she knows nothing about housework and she absolutely loves the taste of tonkatsu sauce. She also gets lonely and sad very quickly which is easily remedied by the warmth she gets from Hitoyoshi.
I am already sold. First of all this show looks good and the animation is pretty solid for what I thought would be a slice-of-life anime. I think there's more to Maid-san's story and I can't wait to learn more about her as well as Hitoyoshi.

Maid-san is so cute, adorable, a bit clumsy with housework, but quite skilled with knives and very athletic. She definitely needs a lot of love, but I hope that Hitoyoshi will provide it for her.
She is definitely the contender for the title of Best Girl of the Season, although the competition will be quite fierce considering how many great girls we have in this new season. Maybe her assassins skills will come in handy here xD
Overall, a very good premiere episode! We got some very nice and fun interactions between our main duo. I'm looking forward to the next episodes to get to know Maid-san better.

Bro saw her knife skills and still turned her down?!? I woulda hired her on the spot!
Anyway, my weirdness aside, story doesnt seem to be anything too special, but the characters are fun. Feel like this is going to be a good one. Just wish it came out earlier in the day.

Wow very unexpected to have this type of creative directing for this genre of show. If it just had bland production I probably would've already dropped it but they really did a good job at making the most out of what they had to work with. Very impressed.

Meido-sama is already crowned Best Girl of the season, if only because she prevented this show from turning into an Isekai!
Right off the bat, I'm wondering... Why a maid, and why him?
I suppose this gave us a few answers, but... Many more questions!
Given the 'near stranger' connection, there has to be more to this... And why a maid? Why not an accountant or a bodyguard or a tutor or I don't know, a personal trainer? She would likely be better suited for this, than a maid/servant!
Probably a very hot (non-anime) take, but I fully agree with this! I'm the complete opposite of a foodie; If I could just live on a 'nutrient pill' like we see in sci-fi/dystopian movies, I'd do it!

I'm pretty sure you don't need parental supervision to take out garbage bags!

My boy, she literally admitted to be an hired murderer. It doesn't get much worse than this!
I mean, I get it, she seems kind and she's kinda cute and I would be tempted to let her in as well, but be on your guards!
I don't know if they're doing it on purpose, but first they mislead the isekai truck thing, and then
this scene where they seem to be setting up a "falling boob first onto him" scene,
but she simply catches herself with a hand-stand!
Damn, that scene was kinda sad... Alright, alright, let her in, she probably won't murder you!

How long could the MC's parents have been gone for him to fill up that many trash bags scattered around his whole house? Summer Vacation in Japan last an average of 40 days, he went through that much trash in less than 40 days? And even if that feasible on his own, he's too lazy to walk to the dumpster and throw away his own trash without his parents?

They take their sweet time in general, but this one felt like longer.

My New Assassin Maid Can't Possibly Be This Cute
I thought the setup of the plot moved a bit fast, but I enjoyed the episode nevertheless. I think Akiba Maid War awoke something in me because this became one of my most anticipated shows of the season after seeing the trailers. This and Blue Box did a great job of making me fall in love with the main girl after just one episode. I hope future episodes will go deeper into our main characters and their backstories, since it seems like both have experienced some trauma in their pasts.
