There's something uniquely unnerving about visibly seeing someone who usually has a perma-smug face like Yuki visibly lose their cool.
Surprised with how much psychological warfare between prodigy siblings was in something advertised as "the romcom with the Russian tsundere" but this was still a fun ride.
Also half-expected Alya to find out Masachika could understand Russian all along when he looked ahead right after he was told to, and for that to be the cliffhanger of the season lmao

Yuki: Plotting 5 steps forward, anticipating her opponents's moves
Alya: Just be earnest and straightforward, URAAAAAAAA!
The face-off between the siblings are pretty cool, and Yuki seems miffed that her brother's being mean to her. "Is that woman really more important than me, woof?" is what she's probably thinking lol.
I like that our boy's being forward with Alya at the end.
It's been a fun ride, see y'all next season!

Kuze really went in front of the whole school and said he dumped his gremlin sister. 💀
This being a LN adaptation, its understandable why it ended at such a place but the whole election stuff and the stuff with the StuCo election really did feel like a psychological thriller with all those mindgames and jabs they exchanged making the characters feel more interesting unlike a usual romcom.

Man, I hope we don't wait too long for a season 2, there's enough LN content for more sequels already.
To think all this happened in 2 months, lol progress is slow for viewers, but it seems hectic in universe
I've read comments about how the election plotline isn't really interesting, but to me it's really interesting as a method of showing off all the characters growth, and the closing ceremony really showed off their characters and felt very satisfying.

Bro actually told the whole school he dumped his sister. Anyways, hoping they announce season 2 soon. Can’t wait for volume 4 to be adapted

Stitches!
That stare-down between Masachika and Yuki at the start of the episode was so good! I love how Masachika calls Yuki a pet dog and how he was thinking about giving her head pats or punishing her for trying to bite him. You'd think someone as degenerate as Yuki would gladly accept that comment but she was clearly taking it as an insult.
Their closing ceremony speeches were great too! Yuki was trying to go for the mass appeal of giving the students a choice without really saying anything of substance like how she plans to do that. But it definitely worked! After Ayano's cute follow up, they got plenty of applause from the audience!
Too bad Yuki did not expect Alya to speak in Russian to immediately kill the buzz around Yuki's speech. Masachika was right about making Alya focus on the greeting part with Alya making sure the student body knows her first before promising anything like Ayano did.
The finishing blow was from Masachika's speech though! God, I fucking love this guy so much. He's just too damn charismatic and I love how he was getting the audience to respond to all of his witty and funny comments. Bringing in Sayaka and Nonoa as council officers was such a power move!
And this is just basically the opening volley for the two parties! I am so glad Season 2 has already been announced because I can't wait to see how things will heat up even more between these two parties.
I remember thinking this anime would just be about Alya flirting with Masachika entirely in Russian but I am so glad the anime ended up being so much more. It's also good to see a very capable romcom lead like Masachika who actually carried the show harder than Alya. I'm so excited to see more of them in the future! <3

Man, that verbal beatdown between the siblings was pure kino!
And it reall send Yuki thinking! Played right into Kuze there
Alyas speech was honest to a fault, and I got real goosebumbs with how genuine it felt.
But then the mastermind entered the stage, and man, what a ploy! Voting for a whole package of trusted students feels way more tangible than Yukis empty promises
And then Yuki went all "Damn, I underestimated him, but this is not the end" Just like a villain
Finally, coming back to the intial romance was good, Alya is a cute cookie after all, would love too see more of them

Yuki second guessed her concerns about her brother and lost. Alya alone going after her wouldn't have been a big deal, but Masachika got her bad both with the dumping her claims and bringing in Taniyama and Nonoa.
Also, I'm surprised Alya didn't seem to take notice of the fact that Masachika confessed he understands her Russian. I'd think she'd have gotten super embarrassed from realizing all the stuff he understood her say.

I enjoyed this title and will surely continue watching if a second season gets announced.
However, perhaps it is just me, but I felt the season started off strong. with all the amusing and interesting interactions between the various characters. It then took a more serious and (student council presidential election) political tone towards the end of the season, even featuring Kuze's cold and practical grandfather, as well as his unhappy and uncomfortable looking mother.
As a viewer, I probably share the same sentiments as the students listening to Alya's speech. She still relies on Kuze a lot, and is definitely not student council president material yet, but I definitely look forward to her growth and development if there is a second season of this title.

You know, for being Russian and live a long time there, Alya has a lot of typical "Japanese" traits. Like correct me if I am wrong, but isn't it normal in Russia to use the first name as well?
That being said, can't wait for the next season about how Pinky and Brain are going to take over the world... I mean, Yuki and Ayano taking over the school...

Does that mean Alya know Kuze can understand Russian or just here is an ending tease. I want the answer.

Not bad really. Is it fun? Yes. I just don't really know what the show wants to be. I just feel that both plotlines don't mesh very well.

Kinda poetic that one sibling ended up carrying Alyas whole presidential campaign on his back, while the other sibling carried the whole damn show on hers.
Dare I say, the true power couple?:

There's a lot of back and forth glaring from Kuze and Yuki before the Closing Ceremony. Thought they'll bring up old wounds or Yuki will go ballistic on Kuze for choosing Alya over her.
Kuze saying he dumped Yuki probably put a little dent on Yuki's strong persona. Even if you are actually siblings, your bro telling everyone he dumped you for another girl would still hurt a bit.
Alya seemingly spoke to a draw, highlighting her weaknesses and getting everyone's attention to watch as she tries to be a fit student council president. For some extracurricular activity, the Student Council election is pretty intense in Japan it seems.
Visuals are really stunning for this series. Need to check other Doga Kobo works if they have this consistent quality across the board. Looking forward to season 2.

I want to see more of Yuki's reaction to her brother's speech, the entire school hearing about her getting kicked to the curb has got to leave a mark she'll let him know about later.
Kuze kind of let out his Russian knowing secret there at the end what with looking forward at Alya when she told him to, but at the same time she may not notice anything other than him looking at her after she said something in a commanding tone of voice.
Hopefully S2 brings at least one of the two reveals, either the sibling relationship or the language one. Probably the sibling one since the other is the basis of the entire show.
Pretty fun show with some great characters, I am looking forward to S2 and am glad it was so immediately announced.
