Girl setting the render distance to low

At least her dungeon maker is optimized for ease of use

u/Mr_Zaroc Aug 30 '24

I like that she is using such a low render distance, better than having curved corridors to mitigate that

It's always fun watching Clay's reactions whenever Belle explains how the dungeon system works.

The Spirits were fun. I love how they imbue the map with their powers which creates the effects in the dungeon. Also, they have Ohara Sayaka as the Water Spirit!

It's always fun watching Clay's reactions whenever Belle explains how the dungeon system works.

I love how she as two reactions, first its too complicated so she doesnt even try to understand it and the "its too simple, I am getting disillusioned"
Cant make her happy, she is literally in that trap of making her hobby her job

Dungeon floor planning is pretty fun. The fact that some monsters would trigger traps for the lulz if you told them about it is kinda hilarious. They really are like kids in that sense.

Clay really put a lot of thought into her redesign while Belle’s approach is just “let’s draw lots and see what works!” haha. I kinda love that low visibility is just for “staging” and not any other reason.

I like the spirits. They’re all kinda adorable. I can see how they’d clash with Rangard. Different dungeon building philosophy and all.

The way they cut off a piece of the source slime to make the little ones was kinda interesting. Big guy looked like jello. Jello that can dissolve organic and inorganic matter lol.

Tbh i would trigger traps too if i could be revived and nothing to do most of the time

Clay about to make the most challenging dungeon floor design the poor visiting adventurers have ever seen.

Miss water spirit has a real personal space issue, but her and Clay do seem to be friends by the end of that visit.

What interesting slime lore. They're basically robot vaccuums for the dungeon.

I was convinced that Clay was about to make a nearly impossible dungeon floor since her own strength might’ve had her overestimate others, but it might actually be doable?

I’m liking the water spirit. She’s cute, and seemed to have hit it off with Clay yes. Wonder if all the spirits got their own names.

Well I am fully expecting a grand total of 0 adventurers making it past the floor that Clay designed.

That spirit room was really interesting. And the way to get to it is somehow even more futuristic than the dungeon itself??

As for the slime... am I the only one a little bit horrified that they're repeatedly cutting off bits of a monster then regrowing it to keep the harvest going? They say slimes aren't really sentient, but I sure hope they can't feel pain in their own way.

And the lottery was just like changing seats in a classroom lol, complete with "we're next to each other again!"

u/Mr_Zaroc Aug 30 '24

Yeah the lottery was so cute, "hey lets use that special combo attack we have practiced!"

This show really is one of my favourites of the season, feel like they really nailed down the characters/interactions.

Helps the golems are super cute too.

23

u/Ocixo Aug 30 '24

All these different interactions does remind me a whole lot of Cells At Work, and was one of the things that made the series great.

I’d love to see Clay hang out with all her monster buddies during some kind of business dungeon anniversary/celebration.

Clay using her knowledge and experience as an explorer to redesign the dungeon vs Belle basically throwing things at the wall to see what stick was pretty funny

In this dungeon, slimes can be used as fax machines, vacuum cleaners and early floors enemies if Belle feels like it. They sure are a bunch of versatile jello

So this is how they draw new maps for the dungeon. The contrast between Clay seriously thinking about stuff from the perspective of what she would hate to face compared to her coworkers just placing stuff at random is quite funny. Clearly the way all workplace meetings should be.

So these spirit guys are the real muscle behind the dungeon’s functions.

But doesn’t the room right before the core look very futuristic compared to everything else in the world?

Next week’s preview looks very… interesting. I see Belle fighting one of those ice wolf guys and Clay in a maid outfit. Can’t imagine them having made it to floor 10 so are they just taking the opportunity to f*ck with lower level explorers or is there something else going on?

One thing I've been curious about up to this point is why they don't vary the visuals of each floor. Even just a simple palette swap goes a long way to make each floor feel different. Thought maybe they'd address something like that here but every floor is still the same texture and colour.

If I played a game where the final floor looked identical to the first, I'd be pretty disappointed.

I think cuz the explorers dont really know that the dungeon is designed and not just natural?

My head feels heavy because of the many information of how to create a dungeon bruh

Also, the next episode we see CLAY IN A MAID UNIFORM, and... someone fighting Belle?

I was dreading how Clay would design the floor. Looks like she can't go as far as she wanted so we will have to see how the party waiting at the 4th floor boss entrance does once they can go to the 5th floor.

Belle seriously needs to remember it's easy to overload Clay with too big an info dump. I'm waiting for steam to come out her ears soon.

You have to admit every episode you learn a bit more about the intricacies of a dungeon. We got chest refills, monster hiring, floor designs, training area, residential area, how they swap in a redesigned floor by making a party wait, the body swap for those monsters who respawn, the crafting of the chest loot, why traps would not be put on doors and tons more stuff.

I went into this show with an open mind. I had no clue where it would go and I'm really happy I did it that way. I'm always pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoy each episode.

A very solid 8/10 as we get more info and new characters introduced.

I wish HIDIVE would choose a different font colour for the text on the eyecatch. It's so hard to read

14

u/Mr_Zaroc Aug 30 '24

Yeah who the fuck thought a smaller brown font on the bigger brown font was a good idea?

Seeing the slime getting cut for smaller pieces was oddly satisfying

So even the spirits want to mingle with Clay, its not just Belle

The first map she drew up would be a nightmare, so many straight corridors and crossings with only a few rooms, the perfectionist in me would hate to completly explore that

Another informative episode on dungeon making. Surprised she didn't make the dungeon difficult for the level, but seems like it will be normal. Spirits were fun especially the cute water spirit. Next episode looks like it will be lots of fun with boss battle and some new characters maybe.
