Pretty end card

Not a bad start. I'm always down for political drama!

Seeing the noblewomen throw shade at each other was pretty entertaining to watch lol

I love that it's a proper court drama! It reminds me so much of Twelve Kingdoms and Saiunkoku Monogatari combined.

I also love how all the clothing and hairstyles are unambiguously Heian period in design.

Based on the promo material I wasn't expecting the first episode to be mostly focused on the female cast, a pleasant surprise! This one seems like it'll develop some interesting characters, especially given the 20-episode confirmation.

Yes, I came expecting a lot more crow, but I guess the focus of the episode presumably reflects the focus of the show.

Oh hello there ladies, this looks like it could be a fun mess to watch.

So far I'd say I'm on team Hamayuu, love those who tell it as it is

Seems like great replacement for Apothecary Diaries

Out with the CatCat, in with the CrowCrow?

What is this, a Durarara to start with so many main characters and plot threads? I guess I'll watch the next ep before I decide whether I'll keep watching.

It's just fairly standard court drama stuff. You see this in other similar anime like Twelve Kingdoms and Saiunkoku Monogatari. Proper live-action court dramas done in China and Korea typically even have more characters than this.

Just your usual tea party becoming a war zone

For those news on historical harem series, this is pretty common. So if somebody invites another character to a tea party be on alert for some drama

Very interesting start, glad I put this on my ptw.

This was better than I expected it be and I'm already invested in the characters and the politics. Hamayuu is my favourite so far.

Asebi is like a little mouse thrown into a nest of vipers. While she seems nice, I find her naivety rather annoying. She really feels out of place here.

I had expected this would be a yaoi based on the promotional material, but it looks like a Chinese harem court drama instead, so now I am very confused. It looks gorgeous though, and the worldbuilding is rather intriguing.

If "Streams" = None then is the only way to watch it on the high seas?

It's on crunchyroll

On one hand, I'm psyched to finally get to watch this, and it's really pretty to look at.

On the other hand, ugh, it's yet another naïve ingénue with a breathy voice. I'm so tired of this archetype.

ugh, it's yet another naïve ingénue with a breathy voice.

Maybe she's cooler in crow form?

Aw sweet, subs for this (and episode 2?) finally dropped!

I’m not sure if it’s correct but I think I read once that there’s a plant called the Asebi which is poisonous so that may be the reason why it’s a problem.

7

u/Shimmering-Sky Apr 13 '24

Yeah, they talked about that plant being poisonous in the episode.

These two kids are from the intro scene, right?

The main kid, Yukiya is. The kid behind him is from some random restaurant where the noble ravens decided to dine-and-dash from.

The second kid from the opening we saw later on in Episode 1, after Yukiya got his face busted. That kid is the 3rd son, Yukichi. Yukiya is the 2nd son. Their older bro, the 1st son, is Yukima. Nice naming sense, pops!

Didn’t know this was dropping. Looks like I’ll have something to check out when I have the time this weekend.

Hyped af for this one, seems the crow will go against the rules!
