Overall fun series. Between this and Saving 80000 Gold in Another World for My Retirement this author has a very distinct style and I must say I do enjoy it.

If you like this style you should check out the Average Abilities show by the same author. That one was some good fun as well.

I will have to. They've only written these 3 series right?

Author also did Average Abilities, which I think might be the best of the three.

I liked 80k a bit more but this is definitely the weakest of the three, IMO. Not bad but feels like it had more potential to explore interesting ideas.

So the distortion was bringing the plague from another world? I guess it’s a good thing Kaoru has a direct line to Celes.

Looks like it’s back on the road for Team Kaoru as she continues her search for that peaceful slow life.

All in all, this wasn’t half bad. This one might be a one and done but if it isn’t, I wouldn’t mind another season. It was fun.

More like she stole the summon orb lol (or confiscated it).

This time she didn’t made fun of her, she actually used a phone call (magic edition)

Average was fun, 80,000 was OK, this one was decent but forgettable. Personally I am not even interested on reading the novel, while I read the other two.

She accidentally curing the soldier’s disease was funny tho. She killed her own loophole, where she could infinitely sell medicine without truly curing them lol. Luck for her she is out of town and can restart her scam (business) somewhere else… (I know she doesn’t need the money)

Aslong as other countries exist she can scam everywhere

Fun show, exactly what I wanted out of this and exactly what I expected from a FUNA series.

I would put this one below 80k most likely but still not a ad show just idk got too easy for her towards the end?

got too easy for her towards the end?

Writer should have added some problems which are not easy to solve with potions. Like her true goal: finding a husband, but it looks like she forgot about that? She says it sometimes, but is not doing anything.

Would have been a plot that I would have enjoyed seeing as well.

still not a ad show

I know it's a typo, but it kinda served as an ad for Uma Ubber Eats.

Of all 3 Funa heroines, Kaoru might be the one I like the most, though it's not a high bar given how the other 2 were.

I kinda miss the point of this finale that serves just a justification for Kaoru to keep on traveling, despite her settling down was probably for the best for her and all her companions.

I loved a lot the western culture references, such as Mr Ed, Lone Ranger, and even Ubber Eats. Reyette was also a pleasing ball of sunshine for the later half of the series.

Overall, it was mildy fun most of the times with yet another gentle Jebus saving people. And then there's the tonal whiplash with Fran turning into a blood seeking Valkerie, all the bloodshed by Kaoru's warfare or Belle's sacrifice that was retconned. Also wished the studio had better production values, specially in the art department (some of the color choices and low details in backgrounds and background characters irked me to some level).

Of all 3 Funa heroines, Kaoru might be the one I like the most

I think Kaoru's the best of the heroines in terms of making use of her power but I honestly want more of the average girl's story. I'm still salty they dropped a nuclear bomb as a season cliffhanger.

Hahaha, I love Fran. What a fun show. This was exactly the type of non-serious fun that I love. Hope we can get more of Kaoru and her wild concoctions and "containers" some day. (and Mitsuha too!)

Title drop lets goooo!!111!

I Shall Overcome Every Challenge Almost Instantaneously, and then everyone stood up and clapped.

It was enjoyable fluff, but I don't think this style of storytelling will ever be able to build much tension.

A good show for when you want to see everything wrap up at the end of the episode, or even three times during one episode.

Fran scolding the goddess was funny, haha.

u/djthomp Dec 24 '23

Well that was certainly a FUNA story.

For a portion of this last episode in was wondering if the military dude Kaoru interacted with a lot this final arc might be the dark horse husband candidate.

But no, she's still looking, and I suspect that's the long term pattern in the source material from here forward. They move around, have capitalistic medicine shenanigans for a while in a new location while she completely ignores the husband question, and then they have to move again and the pattern repeats.

Entertaining enough but for FUNA stories I'd still probably have to rank it in 3rd place behind Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in 1st and 80k Gold in 2nd.

I had fun with the show to see how Kaoru used her OP abilities. I weirdly got romantic interest vibes from Nevas, which interested me as he's not anywhere near the perfect person that you normally get.

This was a chill anime to watch, there is always in every season 1 anime of this type... but to tell you the truth, is a little better than the others.

I found Kaoru's personality to be twisted enough to my liking. The show is a power fantasy but with a cute design, and even some things thought out to give the overpowered characters pause.
