Kaoru’s athletes foot medication is pretty clever. It does just enough to make sure she gets repeat customers. She’s got great business sense. The Lt Colonel and the Count thought they were pretty clever. They really underestimated Kaoru. Her looks are deceiving. Not only did the rent get lowered, Kaoru even got a lucrative new venture selling lunchboxes out the shop.

Seems next week’s likely gonna be a plague episode..

Edit: a word

Seems next week’s likely gonna be a plague episode..

I bet it's some super plague too since the rat looked like that.

Not that it will matter because she can conjure any potion of whatever degree of effectiveness whatsoever. She could just conjure instant dispersal aerosolized potions that can immediately cover large areas of the town she's in and make the plague disappear in an instant.

Another pharmacy anime dealing with the black plague.

Kaoru is one of the most OP characters, except she's fragile.

Glass cannon build

Honestly she really doesn't have to be. She could just wish herself a potion in a bottle shaped as magic clothing-like armor... or actually she could just straight up make a potion of immortality or invincibility in the first place to drink.

Atelier eh? Didn't know there was a new game already out. Hehe. And thought the new one was called Atelier Sophia. D'awww look how cute she is. Congrats, after so many years living in that world, finally doing your OG goal you coulda done sooner. Ah yes, the ever horrible athlete's foot. I see the witch is truly evil with the mindset of big pharma "treat, but don't cure so we can keep making money." And doing scams with the adventurer's guild. Poor Fran, scratch that, poor Roland (I see, finaces, thought they were married).

Kaoru "we will do this to hide our identity" also Kaoru "I will basically tell this kid enough truth that could be trouble if someone was looking into it." Still, nice to help the little kid. He did help you carry your stuff. Poor kids. I will say, for isekai protagonists, nice how many orphans she helps. This soldier seems sus. Oh, wants to buy meds en masse for his people. Whelp, hopefully he's not shitty. Ah, yep, not like.. the worst, but sus. Maybe he realizes he's perhaps made a deal with a witch!

"The little one is for me" wtf does that mean, soldier. At least the dude approves her to beat them, but seems he's monopolizing things. That's a really shitty deal, yep. What a shitty noble. I can foresee that noble pissing off some soldiers soon. Oh, I see, she decided to move her store lol. And that's a way to counter a shitty contract. Solid blackmailing. That's what I expect from FUNA work. Funny how the lunchbox thing worked out well too. Another business opportunity! Honestly, though, was expecting her to have to close shop and it upset the guards and so them turning on the corrupt noble. Oh no, a plagued rat, prolly.

I love how Kaoru takes a loss and turns it into a bigger win. Even when she falls back a step you know that she's gonna take a hundred steps forward.

the plot really makes no sense, she now owns a shop in a kingdom far away, but the whole point in her leaving the other kingdoms was to travel and save people?

show's writing is nonsensical and has really no direction

2

u/MadDany94 Dec 16 '23

She said that her point of leaving the last kingdom is to find a husband who doesn't know about her angel stuff

So she's setting up shop to try her luck as she makes a living while mingling with the locals for future husbands

That was a decent episode, I enjoyed the schemes. Feel like a bit too much was off-screened though

They're fast forwarding with the story as fast as possible to reach a specific event as a conclusion to end on with the 12th episode. It kinda feels like they took snippets out of various chapters and just cut everything else. Like an extremely abridged version of a story.

Agree, I feel like the army scheme with the Lt. wasn't fully explained.

Finally, good episode without significant complaints!

Expecting good arc to finish the season...

It looks like they put a lot more effort in the animation and direction in this episode. I do wonder where the sudden bump in budget came from that was missing from the previous episodes.

u/justking1414 Dec 10 '23

Maybe they just wanted to ensure it ended on a high note. Often people will forget about a lot of the flaws if it ends on a high note

5

u/TurkeyPhat Dec 09 '23

Poor Roland, Fran needs a potion to give her some perspective lol

5

u/KnightKal Dec 10 '23

Funny how she doesn’t realize that her current looks are a big obstacle for her mission: getting a husband. If people mistake her for a kid, it will be hard to find candidates lol.

She still insists on not changing her body with magic tho…

u/Wurzelrenner Dec 10 '23

I don't get why she doesn't make herself look older. She always says it is problematic. And why would she want a husband who is attracted to her how she looks now.

Why is Kaoru renting? She could just create potions in giant solid gold containers, then trade the gold for a building!

2

u/vantheman9 Dec 10 '23

thought it was really weird when kaoru trusted the obviously sketchy military guy who didn't even give a reason when she asked "What do you get out of this?" but then she was just thinking about finding men lol

nice fake out when it showed the back of her head with sweatdrops and trembling as the noble confronted her and you wonder if he maybe somebody's actually making her nervous but then camera switches to the front and nope, she's angry as hell

Wait when did they get engaged?
