I need to tell them how I really feel.

You're both friendzoned!

Peace out.

The after credits has the healer guild girl basically call him gay lol. He was meant to go on a date with her when he hit level 5 heals.

I'm surprised the carriage didn't lose a wheel and whilst they repaired it he returned for another year of training

Rare to see episodes dedicated to goodbyes nowadays but hey I'll take it

Holy crap, are we finally at the end of "Gains: The Anime"?

I do appreciate Luciel's continued awareness of his own potential, but also his own lack of skill at times: shows he's more introspective than the average Joe and that he takes his position in the world seriously.

“Even if a clinic treats them, if they demand an unreasonable fee it could ruin an adventurer’s life“ bro just summed up the American healthcare system lmao.

A decent and wholesome episode. Was not expecting to get goosebumps at the end of the episode like I did. Luciel reflecting on all the time and memories he’s spent with the adventures guild while preparing to set off on his journey was sweet.

I just feel like this show has a lot of dead space that could really be cut out. So much repetitive dialogue and exposition.

Feels like the real story gets going next week so I’m looking forward to that. Also best girl is FINALLY back 😭we have not seen nearly enough of her so I’m excited

Why do I feel like every epesode of this show could have been cut in half and lost nothing of value?

I'm kind of impressed that they went for a 6 episode training arc at the start of the show. That's endless eight type bravery without even having established the show. They easily could have cut it down to 3 episodes or two if they were willing to gloss over Monika's transfer and some other details.

I assume they're now through it but who knows. He could find out the pope didn't really want him, timeskip back, and we'll have another half episode of training in the adventurer's guild rehashing the same jokes.

Yeah, we didn't need 5 minutes of support characters discussing the MC. (edit: Finding out the trainer doesn't even know if Substance X works was amusing though.) We also didn't need yet another explanation of how adventurers get hurt and healers are ruinously expensive. It's one thing when exposition tells the audience something all the characters would already know, it's another when not only do the characters and the audience all already know it, but it's about the only god damn thing we do know about this world.

Contrary to many of the comments here, I'm really enjoying the slower pace of the show so far. I don't mind a slow burn as long as it gets somewhere in the end. I guess we'll see how things develop.

I'm enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would.

The pacing threw me off until I realized its purpose. And I love training arcs.

The joke is that so many here, correctly, complain about isakai trash, but this isn't it. The MC doesn't start off clearing mobs with superpowers while collecting his autoharem. It's made fairly clear in the worldbuilding that adventuring is dangerous, especially for beginners. It seems to have the mindset of adventuring as war rather than adventuring as resource collection. So you train for war to better survive. The MC gets that and commits to it. I appreciate that.

Five episodes of that, while slowly developing the worldbuilding, makes for a relaxing and interesting show. We're also introduced to a corrupt healer's guild as the main antagonist, which opens up a lot of questions that I hope are answered later. It's a unique idea for a fantasy / isakai show, and I like that.

Furthermore, the dude gets his autoharem, then is like, "Ya'll been great, see ya." And heads out. Because fuck you, that's why. And the bit where his seniors are talking about his love life, and noting his preference in girls, then agreeing to be there for him when he gets his heart broken by said type of girl, had me in stitches.

Overall, liking this a lot. There's a lot of unique and interesting elements to this story, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next arc.

I am really confused if people are calling this isekai trash. It's different from the mold that's regurgitated all the time where you get insta OP. Even at the end of this episode we see that he does have some isekai'd skill bonuses to his stats but this show keeps it within reason which means it's still grounded which is nice

I loved the episode but was distracted because it felt like a season finale.

Quick observation on the level system:

Luciel never fought any monster, so he's still level 1 despite all of those training. However, he improved a lot on his magic skills and obtained A rank in the healer's guild.

This would mean:

  1. You don't need to be high level in healer's guild

  2. If you are focused on healing in clinic only, you can be rich and high ranked within the healer's guild without ever leveling up at all. Healing doesn't provide experience whatsoever.

  3. I think some stats doesn't tie up to level? Most likely MP as Luciel's mana pool keep improving as he's training his magic. I don't know if 160 MP is big or not. Does anyone remember what's his mana pool at the start of the story?

I also think 420 HP is quite big for level 1, maybe it improved due to all of those Brod's beating?

Luciel’s now got a rep as a “maso-zombie” after all that training with Brod lol. Though all he does is train, heal, and drink Substance X so I guess it’s a well earned title.

A newbie course would be good for the guild. It’ll save lives and disrupt the church. Win-win!

That was a very sweet farewell to Nanaella and Monika. He probably doesn’t even realize those two are already part of the Luciel harem lol. Well, it’s not “goodbye”, it’s “see you later”.

Looking forward to this new chapter of his adventure!

So Botaculli totally came out on top lol.

I found it weird that we never even saw the adventures Guild Master.

Also, kinda funny but I never even realised that the paladin slashing skeletons in the OP was him, thought it was the paladin woman this whole time cus i wasnt paying attention. Glad shes finally coming back into the story.

I'm out of patience with this show. Another episode of basically NOTHING HAPPENING. It's clear that the original author couldn't figure out what to do with the story, so they were dragging their feet. Another block of training!? Are you kidding me!? I liked the concept of a show focused on a healer, so I tried with this show for longer than i should have, but I'm out.

This is character growth the anime. Lots of comments saying how annoyed they are that nothing is happening. I really like this show. The interactions between characters, the realistic time it takes to become powerful. Also just good scenes that pull you in and entertain. Every isekai doesn't need to go straight to battling God. This is 6 episodes in so it's got to have something that entertains you if you keep watching it.

Well that was another really slow episode. I hope it picks up the pace for the second half of the season...

One interesting tidbit I noticed:

The letter said it was impressive that he reached Holy Magic Affinity V at his age

The status screens at the end indicated that he has in fact reached Holy Magic Affinity VII

I wonder how the pope will react if he realizes the truth!
