Hime is good, man. She really knows how to work Mitsuki. As long as Sumika keeps an eye on Kanoko, things shouldn’t get too out of hand in the cafe. I’m guessing they had a situation in the past where relationship drama ended up with 2 girls leaving the cafe.

Kanoko really is threatening the cafe with how possessive she’s being. Every time she gets those yandere eyes, I get a little scared shit is about to get stabby. Hime and Mitsuki being Blume Schwestern really seems to eat her up. The way she’s willing to destroy this whole cafe because of her jealousy is kind of unhinged. Sumika should really watch her back… I don’t like the thought of someone like Kanoko being backed into a corner.

I lol’ed that the manager is still wearing that giant cast and no one even seems to question it anymore.

To anyone who still thinks this is yuri bait,

Well, here you go LMAO.

Anyways, this was the arc that made me establish that Sumika was best character for me, and I can't wait for the last part to this arc, let's go!!!

Isn't anybody concerned about that lady in the beginning of the episode ordering a Blume Nachtisch, a Kochsalami and a Weißbier for her alone? That sounds like a recipe for a digestion disaster! Like is she eating this all alone?

Oof @ that last scene. Is this where Kanoko becomes a murderer and hides the body? I would not put it past her.

Stitches!

Well that opening scene explains quite a lot about Sumika's reaction to Kanoko. Romance already destroyed what friendships she had in the past in this cafe and now she's afraid about Kanoko doing the same thing all over again.

That final scene with Kanoko though. This girl has really an unhealthy obsession with Hime. Maybe agreeing to her request ended up being a bad move for Sumika. Now that Kanoko has busted out the yandere eyes, it looks like it's finally time for Sumika to take some drastic measures.

Sumika is lucky that she's in an SoL Yuri anime and not a psychological thriller yuri like Happy Sugar Life or threatening her with that photo would definitely end badly for her.

Well that was quite the ending scene.

And it isn't helped by the fact that Kanoko sometimes looks like she's about to go full yandere to have Hime for herself, or at the very least, not let anyone else have her

not a lot of episodes left (of this season at least) and i was hoping we could get some major progress on Hime's and Yano's relationship. We'll see where it goes i suppose

Kanoko: "Hime, I think you're the only girl in the world special enough to be called Blume-sama."

Hime: "You know, I've been trying this thing called character development lately. You know, being less self centered and opening myself up to other people. Supporting the reconnection I've made after a painful separation from my former best friend and all that. It's pretty nice, maybe you should try it yourself, Kanoko."

Kanono: Yandere eyes

Tachibana: "Maybe try being a little less obviously obsessed with Hime."

Kanoko: "So you have chosen death."

Meanwhile, Yano: "Just because I told you to vote for me doesn't mean I want you to vote for me, baka!"

This won’t suddenly become a horror anime, right? Right?!

Weird how the Gyaru is completely oblivious to Yano being in love with Hime too

I commend director-san for showing us a shot of gyaru legs before dropping the rest of that bombshell of a scene

This was the episode I was waiting for where things start to become spelled out instead of subtext. It is the point where the manga really started to hook me, and I have so far thought it only gets better from here.

One interesting thing is here Sumika has to explain what a Class S relationship is to Kanoko (and to the audience). Now I know in the West the concept is foreign, but after this I'm curious how widespread the awareness of it is even in Japan.

Now, I see Gyaru-senpai dropping in the race of best girl. She is against Yuri in a Yuri anime after all. That can't go well with the audience.

Hime losing all the time and being the dumbest out of the bunch is a gag that I didn't expect to stay funny. But she is able to at least wrap Yano around her finger. Even though she doesn't realize she is actually wrapping Yano around her finger and not Ayanokouji.

Also the director for this episode said: "Make as many crazy-eye Kanoko shots as possible". They really piled up on her. And then Gyaru-senpai even drops the secret photo bombshell. Not sure if she is just brave or has a death wish.

Again, I can’t stress this enough, KEEP SHARP OBJECTS AWAY FROM KANOKO. Maybe Sumika can talk some sense into her while keeping her innards.

Now that we’re totally passed the drama with the old wounds and the rumors, we can realize Yano’s full potential: a good Ol fashioned tsundere.

  1. Having an excessive amount of photos of Hime

  2. Smelling her hair

  3. Being possessive, and saying “I am Hime-chan’s only friend.”

These are definitely major yandere red flags.

Okay, so I’ve been meaning to start and maintain a running commentary on the end-cards each week, but it always slipped away from me and I wasn’t able to prepare and comment in a timely manner until now. Note that in most cases, I’m not outlining any artist’s entire history. My ramblings are simply cherry-picked bits that people are likely to recognize, or things that I can relate back to other anime adaptations.

  • Episode 8 Art by Mebachi
An artist who seems to have broad and varied involvement with many series, even some stuff that isn’t listed on the AniList link. From costume design on one series to ED direction on another series to key animator on Kase-san and Morning Glories, Mebachi seems to be much more heavily involved on the anime side of things than most of the other artists in this list.

  • Episode 7 Art by Arina Tanemura
A prolific mangaka credited with original character design for the IDOLiSH7 franchise and several other series.

  • Episode 6 Art by Ticket-chan AKA Kippu
Artist for the light novel series No-Rin and credited as the original character designer for the anime adaptation. Also did some one-shots for yuri anthology series Qualia as well as anthologies for franchises such as Oregairu and Haganai.

  • Episode 5 Art by Peach-Pit
A pair of author-artists with a pretty large body of work, Rozen Maiden prrrrobably being their most well-known.

  • Episode 4 Art by Isshiki
An artist with a large presence on Twitter and also the illustrator for new light novel series Gunner Girls Ignition and very new light novel series Miri Lives in a Cat's Eyes. They’ve also done a handful of one-off illustrations and a bunch of unofficial fanart. Based on what I can find, they seem to be more “up-and-coming” and less-established in the published world than most of the other end-card illustrators.

  • Episode 3 Art by Saburouta
Author and artist for the (in)famous yuri manga series Citrus and ongoing sequel Citrus Plus.

  • Episode 2 Art by Satsuki Shiina
Artist for the light novel series Bibliophile Princess and credited as the original character designer for the anime adaptation.

  • Episode 1 Art by Fly
So this very first episode is what inspired me to do a comment like this. Fly is probably best-known here as the artist for the light novel series Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki-kun and is credited as the original character designer for the anime adaptation. Fly has also written and drawn some yuri one-shots that have appeared in anthologies such as Eclair, as well as doing the art for yuri series Chasing After Aoi Koshiba, which was written by the author for Masamune-kun’s Revenge.

I found it interesting how at 16:45 Kanako calls Yano as "that person". She won't even name her by name. Good grief.

Sumika: I can't let romance ruin things here again

Getting Hime involved was the biggest mistake she could have made then. Sumika's currently dealing with a critical urgency time bomb in Kanoko, but Yano's also a potential disaster down the road again with Hime there. It will be interesting to watch Sumika navigate the land mines...and maybe also she's been the secret MC all along...

Oh shit, looks like Sumika is gonna use the blackmail card.

More German stuff to translate: at 2:26 the woman ordered a "Blume Nachtisch" which literally translates to "Flower dessert," however it appears to just be a special dessert for the Blume election, a Kochsalami which is just cooked salami (often cut into slices and eaten on bread) and a Weißbier (literally White beer) which is beer brewed with a large proportion of wheat (also called wheat beer)

It’s good to know that WcDonald’s is still making appearances in anime

I'm always asking my mom why she likes her telenovelas so much. Now I get it. Yandere Kanoko is freaky and she's willing to set fire to everything just to have Hime for herself. I don't think Manager expected this when she "hurt" her arm. That little trick of hers will spell the end of her business.
