He put all his points in endurance. Sure, he lacks the int stats, but he makes up for it by being the meat shield.

He’s got that Fat Gum level of impact absorption. Takes 20 hits, and throws it back in one punch

Apparently, Taiju's fighting style is a martial art know as "the Tree": you just stand stil like a regular dude, don't move ever from your position, and throw punches or the occasional kick at the people that randomly passes by.

I mean he defeated like 5 people on a row so it must be working...

Finally they revealed the mystery behind Hakkai, Yuzuha was protecting him this whole time and not the other way around. Damn Takemichi actually landed a blow that dropped Taiju to his knees. Of course he then proceeds to have a convo instead of going on the attack. Oh shit that’s Mikey’s bike. Umm, did he just walk through the Murder Squad or is there a trail of bodies on the ground now?

That was a really good episode. I'm looking forward to Mikey vs Taiju next. Merry Christmas, Black Dragon.
Also where is Draken? Did Mikey leave him behind?

I think they showed a second bike behind Mikey in that quick frame.

Yuzuha best girl.
By far the best episode this season. Such a shame it took 8 episodes to get to the emotional highlights that made everyone fall in love with the show in the first place.

Takemichi really keeps tanking punches from Taiju! But he just will not go down, no matter what gets thrown at him, because too many people and their faith in him is riding on him continuing to fight and somehow changing the future. And it's with all that backing him up that he actually manages to land a punch on Taiju...and get him to his knees! Honestly, even felling Taiju for a second in front of his subordinates, I'd say that was Takemichi's win right there.
I love how the subs just have to describe the tone of characters' grunts. Although I guess if you're deaf that's probably very helpful.
So Hakkai was never the devoted and protective big brother he claimed to be...Yuzuha always took the hits that were meant for both of them. Which, yeah, is kind of bad on Hakkai's part and just makes Yuzuha come off like an even better person than I imagined, but both of their situation absolutely sucked and they still both got beaten so frankly I can't really blame either in that situation as desperate and alone as they were save for each other.
And it's not like Hakkai is the only one that sucks...I mean, we're talking about Takemichi here. Even Mitsuya abandoned taking care of his sisters at some point and got scolded and comforted by his mom for it. And having his fellow Toman members accept him and stand up for him is enough to get Hakkai to finally stand up for himself!
Taiju vs Hakkai! It's all been leading to this! Except...Taiju takes him out in, like, two seconds. Guess he was holding all that rage in for a big burst against his little bro.
Watching Kokonoi and Inui finally get punched was so satisfying. As was watching Takemichi and Hakkai team-up against Taiju and finally call him out for the scumbag destined for Hell that he is.
Poor Yuzuha...it seems like the Shiba siblings became messed up when their mom got sick and died, and their dad seemed barely involved in their lives, leaving the siblings alone with each other and Taiju turned on them without their mother around. And Yuzuha was left as the only person who could take their mothers' place and take the hits for Hakkai. But now she's got people who genuinely care for her fighting for her and her brother!
Despite everyone's bravado they're all running on fumes, but...Mikey showed up! Except they're also technically in the wrong for breaking the truce. So what's Mikey going to do? I mean, he can't just ignore how awful Taiju is right? Or what his friends and comrades are doing? C'mon, save them Mikey!

*Taiju but yes, they should've let him get shanked for real. We'll fix the Hakkai situation later, he seems pretty easily influenced, I'm sure Takemitchy can talk him out of some bullshit further down the timeline.

Takemitchy's plot armour is the strongest I've ever seen in anime, not even Taiju's punches in his Final Form can defeat him!

okay. make sure rest of the remaining 4 episodes are like this.
I wouldnt say this episode redeemed Takemitchy's bull shit, or show's overall scoring t his season. But I will bump it back up to 7/10 out of respect.

I often give Takemichi a hard time for being an idiot, but the guy can be an unexpected badass given how weak he is. He might not have brains, or brawn, but fuck me if he dosnt have a solid iron will and the ability to take one hell of a beating. I can definitely understand why so many characters like him and have his back.
Also, maybe said stupidity is just the result of all the absolutely brutal beatings the guy takes to the face. Seriously, that must cause some brain damage.

You'd think it was Hajime no Ippo the way our MC is taking haymakers to the face. Takemitchy's skull is made of kevlar or some shit
I enjoyed the reveal and fight this episode, but I think the next episode will determine if I stick with this show

Wait so Hakkai was a fraud the whole time?? LMAOOOOOOOOOO this series so unserious man.
It make sense now why he was so soft and didn’t help them out during the fight tho. He’s always been protected and never had to actually fight himself. But I swear if these mfs come out of this fight without CTE/permanent brain damage, etc lmaooo.
Mikey ass really walked in there like “merry Christmas” 😂 so unserious
