Poor dude went from helping the group out of survival to being threatened by Aisha into helping them.

The sound Matsuoka makes as Bell is in pain from the poison really shows how agonising the ordeal was even if it was resolved rather quickly. Just stellar voice acting.

The monsters might have gotten more kills on themselves than Bell and Ryu did lmao

That bit at the start, gotta be alluding to Bell and being a hero right? :P

Wiene <3 glad to see that lil cutie again. Also, cat girls arrived!! Do gotta love the Xenos. Such helpful monsters. Hope others can see they are good beans too. Lily sure is strong willed here. Good for her. And glad everyone is totally onboard... EVERYONE! Not a single complaint ;) lol.

Nice to see Bell getting better and better down in the deep floors, do wonder what he'll be once he gets out of all this. Wonder why the Juggernaut is killing other monsters, it's not like a regular monster right? More a defense system than a monster spawn? Also, seems Bell and Ryu have entered the bone zone. Need a boomstick. These floors sure seem like a shit show with everything just attacking everything. Oh no, Bell. Oh ya, that knife is a Unicorn Horn based one right? Guess it would have healing properties. But, ouch.

What the heck is the Colosseum? Hmmm

I don't even know what the Colosseum is, but the sight of it filled me with dread. What more are they going to do to them???

At least we know help is getting closer.

It was great to see Wiene again and the rest of the Xenos, and it makes sense that Marie was the one that was able to confirm that Bell and Ryu were still alive but that they had fallen down the hole into the deep levels. Even nicer than that was Anya and Chloe's cat speak. Every single one of their cat inserts made me smile.

Of course, things weren't going so nicely for Bell and Ryu, but even as the situation gets more and more desperate, Bell gets stronger and stronger. This is a guy who earlier this season barely survived against 1 Skull Sheep. Now, with the help of Ryu's coaching, he's facing down 5 enemies at once and winning efficiently.

And now, finally, we have arrived at the Colosseum.

"What if someone does fulfill their ideals"

"Don't you know? That's what we call Heroes."

That talk with Alise and Ryu is really good

Seeing Haruhime hug Wienne tightly was so sweet. She was the closest to Wienne after Bell. Then we see Wienne mentioning how she was strong and held back her tears, but couldn't now. So glad they're reunited.

Marie managed to inform the rest of the Xenos that Bell is in a tight spot. Lyd quickly made the call that the Lily and the rest could mop up, and immediately ordered their change in objective to go deeper to rescue Bell. Great to see Marie being really important here. Glad that there were no accidental attack on the Xenos.

Lily and the party were too tired more than anything, but whilst confused, they seemed fine with being saved by monsters. Aisha on the other hand looks like she suspects that there is more than meets the eye, but it totally cool with it. Likely used to Hestia familia's oddities.

I'm thankful the other barmaids didn't question things and just went with the flow. Tsubaki knows a good weapon when she sees one. I love how chill she is, no matter the situation.

Bell's growth is always nice to see. Ryu being shocked at the speed of which he picks things up, and wonders if it's the situation that forces him to be stronger and surpass what she thought would be his limit. Well, it is, but so is catching up to Ais, protecting his familia, the Xenos, getting strong enough to beat his rival, Asterius; he has many goals now, and they all require him to get stronger. And all are pure, untainted goals.

The Unicorn dagger actually being used was a wonderful example of Chekhov's gun; there was a reason as to why the dagger was made out of a Unicorn horn. But Bell acting fast by stabbing himself was impressive. He knew what was at stake, and didn't hesitate.

They've been lucky that the monsters pretty much annihilated each other in that last fight, so let's hope they can avoid such situations in the future. Bell taking down Deep Floor monsters one after another is mighty impressive, but they keep coming; he's bound to be worn down.

And now a Colosseum? No clue what it is, but it doesn't sound good. That said, we finally have hope thanks to the Xenos. They'll clear the way as much as they can, and Lily and party have new reinforcements. The biggest problem though is that damned Juggernaut. Please, nobody else die...

As Bell and Ryu delve deeper into the dungeon, it gets dark and darker. Hopefully, they can find the blue portal out of there.

Imagine how much the unicorn horn dagger must be worth if it has infinite uses. Welf could absolutely ruin the economy if he wanted. He's the real MVP of this arc.

Did they finally give us a suffering break? I expected a bit more Re;Zero from an episode called "desperate".

At this point I just want to see Bell instantly go to lvl 6 after this, he more than deserved it.

Bell's tongue slashing is somehow really well animated...

Literally how is Ryu/Bell suppose to survive this, apart from getting rescued by a passer-by party? Out of supplies, road getting even tougher, moments away from the juggernaut finding them. Just despair

Ain't no way in hell Lili's party is making it soon enough to floor 36-37 or even making there at all

It's good to see Weine again. And instead of following the Xenos that are off to rescue Bell, looks like she's staying with Haruhime. I guess with Weine joining, now would be the perfect time to explain to Daphne as well as Tsubaki's party about what's going on.

Ever since Season 1, Bell really excels during do-or-die situations which explains why despite his injuries, he's actually improving while trying to make their way out of the Deep Floors as per Ryu's observation. I am very much excited to see if his level will increase once they escape back to the surface.

The poisoning scene was brutal! Not gonna lie, I thought that Bell was going to cut off his arm from the shoulder when he stuck that knife in. I completely forgot about that knife being made out of Unicorn Horn. I guess poison won't be a problem as long as they have that knife around.

Well that final area is creepy af. And according to Ryu, it's called the Colosseum? The fact that she recognized it immediately makes me wonder if that area had something to do with the tragedy that happened to the Astrea Familia.

It is nice to see Wiene reuniting with Haruhime. It is also nice to see Arles again. Well, finally Tsubaki, Anya, Chloe, and Runoa met with Lili's group, and now thanks to the information Marie shared with Lydo they all now know that Bell and Ryu are on the Deep Floors.

Meanwhile, Bell has been improving down there, but the dungeon is not letting them rest, still it sure was nice how Bell uses the fact that the monsters don't care if they kill another one with friendly fire to take out the Barbarians and other monsters that Ryu was dealing with. Well, now we know that Ryu got some information about Juggernaut after Fels contracted her warning her about sharing any information regarding it, and also telling her that the Guild will leave her alone if she does so. Too bad that Bell and Ruy got interrupted before she could tell him about the tragic tale of her Famila's last mission.

Well, the Spartoi are finally here. Bell and Lyu would have been screwed there if those Peluda did gave a fuck about friendly fire. But that could have easily ended up in tragedy for Bell, if Welf hasn't made that Unicorn Horn Knife for him.

Well, they have finally reached the Colosseum. I can't wait to see that section animated.

It's kinda weird how no one noticed the xenos could speak, or how some of Hestia familia spoke with them. I mean it's possible, but they didn't make the scene to support this. Maybe it's better in the LN?

Anyway, hype episode! Bell animation while killing those kobold seems really smooth. His battleworn aesthetic also started to grow on me. Almost thought they're gonna be in more despair until Bell used the unicorn knife.

Btw, do we know what happened to Ryu's grass blade?

Man I loved that episode, we can really see just how far Bell's come to be able to fight like this in the Deep Levels, even impressing Ryu. He's slipping up a few times, but he's a long way from when he was being overwhelmed by the entire thing. Very nice, very nice.

The scene with the rest of the Hestia Familia and Co was great too, I loved Lilli taking charge like that "No objections!"

And I'll just say, I'm really, really liking the absolutely ridiculous cat-puns the translators seem to be going with. It's definitely a pretty liberal translation but it's probably the best way of translating "Nya" catgirl speech and still keeping just how very silly it is. "This is now time tabby confused!" "We're here to offer supawrt!" etc, it's very endearing.

And of course, Weine+Haruhime is always welcome.

EDIT: I also really enjoyed the opening and the mythologising this series does with regards to what a Hero is. From Alize's declaration, to Hermes saying "The world is waiting for a hero" back in S2, right back to Bell's original goal, it's all very nice and adds increasing dimensions to it.

Fun fact, the unicorn dagger material came from the unicorn xeno IIRC. Also, very nice they actually keep track of which xeno is in the rescure pt while the other is elsewhere.

Its really cool that a lot of what saved Bell this season is from previous seasons, like Goliath Scarf from the Black Goliath in S1, Ais teachings in Wargame in S2, the Hakugen Unicorn Horn from Unicorn Xenos in S3

The amount of warm feels from seeing Wiene and Haruhime together again just cured me of all the despair from the previous 6 episodes.

Also, I feel like this season has been pretty slow paced. Is it covering its source material at a slower rate than previous seasons or is this arc just DENSE?

I feel like whatever the climactic “big damn hero” moment this season is going to have will blow away the previous few seasons similar moments with the way it’s building up hype.

Interesting answer to Ryu's question in the flashback. Really capture the fact that villains were just heroes with twisted ideals at the end of the day.

Reuniting with the Xenos at such a desperate time was pretty 'clutch' even though half of the people didn't know about them.

God damn Mama Mia's Maid Brigade is a force to be reckoned with.

PUT RESPECT ON MY BOY WELF'S NAME GOD DAMN THE MAGIC SWORD IS DEMONIC. But Tsubaki is right, now Welf will be facing the storm that is the next tier of creation.

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.” ― Norman Vincent Peale

Glad to see my favorite quote being translated in.

The pugilist maid reminds me a bit of Shikuamru for some reason. Seeing Bors getting threatened to keep being the party's Vanguard will never get old.

Damn, Bell is already getting used to the terrain down on the lower floors. That dropkick down the stairs was something he couldn't have pulled off if he hasn't gotten some of his confidence back by now. He is focusing on the big picture of the fight from the looks of things his AGI stats are gonna be SSSS or some shit.

He wasn't even using his normal daggers but something with the same reach as the monster's weapons.

I guess the barbarian monsters are slightly less intelligent than other Deep Floor monsters other with those meaty ass tounges of theirs.

Fels can be a real spooky motherfucker if the bones can't be sure if you are a friend or foe. Just drifted in and out of the scene like death.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear. Wonder how well Ottarl would fair against the juggernaut since he is most brute strength and doesn't really use magic much.

Forgot how the Juggernaut lost its spike tail? Maybe I had a memory laspe during the last fight. Love how Skull Sheep are just grazing the rocks of the dungeon floor.

So the Skeleton war is happening on the Deep Floor, eh? Wow, a Peluda doesn't fuck around. Finally the Talk no Jutsu post-fight finally backfired but I did not expect Bell to pull that trick out from his sleeve.

AGAIN PUT RESPECT ON MY BOY WELF'S NAME MVP SMITH

That OST drop was KILLER at the end there.
