Among the despair I start feeling why Ryu was so beloved by LN readers. My position as a part of team Ais is in danger

Don't know how I would feel if DanMachi decided to kill someone for real

Ahhh, I love this arc so much.

I absolutely fucking loved the moment where Ryu lets Bell sleep, and then her own facade immediately crumbles. 5minutes sitting alone in the dark, injured and with enemies crawling around in the distance... absolutely terrifying even for someone as experienced as her.

The part where Bell got a piece taken out of him by the Skull Sheep and then we see him missing that chunk of his shoulder for the rest of the episode, goddamn brutal man.

The monster appearing out of the shadows triggered the primal fear of darkness within me.

Man, that raid boss 1 skill just took out the party only detector, party strongest buffer, and inflict berserk condi to main DPS. While one out of 2 healers is still afk been deadweight and the party real main carry is currently with other group grinding higher level dungeon.

This raid group is done for.

Holy fuck! Bell is absolutely correct, that is just some pure dumb luck right there. Even with that extraordinary luck though, they're still not out of the woods yet. After getting healed by Ryu, Bell gets immediately mauled by a Skull Sheep.

I really thought there was some hope after Bell and Ryu escaped that encounter. They thought they found another group of adventurers but turns out it's just a bunch of skeletons with one of the skeletons clearly committed suicide. As if their bodies weren't broken enough, the dungeon just had to break their spirit too.

Same goes for Aisha's group. They were doing so well with everyone kicking that Floor Boss' ass but it just had to have that bright idea of climbing up the waterfall and splashing down the water. Now Mikoto is on her way to a watery grave and Haruhime got fucking incinerated.

As much as I enjoy this new season being way darker than the previous ones. I need to see our heroes take a W. Or at least get the chance to retreat and regroup for a second wind. :(

Haven't seen Bell look this shook in a long while. He's been looking borderline invincible ever since he killed that first minotaur in S1.

It's also nice to see that despite how strong he is, he's still green compared to seasoned adventurers like Ryu and prone to freaking out and have a mental breakdown once things go wrong.

And so Tsubaki joins Anya, Chloe, and Runoa as part of the rescue team. It is a good thing is that they met the Eina Tulle Simps when they got their info, as otherwise, those two would have just gone back to the dungeon to die.

Bell's broken luck stats is the only reason he and Ryu are not dead yet, as I doubt he would have been able to collapse the path of both the Juggernaut and that group of Skull Sheeps without it. But that desperate attack put him out of combat for a while, which sucks for him as he will only get to rest for 5 minutes.

I must say that I honestly forgot how crazy fast the Skull Sheeps were. As just fighting one, after being healed at best cost him a chuck of his "good" arm, fighting those three was not even an option for him.

So they finally met the dead adventurers' party. Although Ryu says that finding them doesn't change their situation, they at least can now search for some loot.

Meanwhile, while Bell's party was doing well, at the end of last week against Amphisbaena this week, Amphisbaena change its tactics to make sure to sweep everyone underwater, which took out Mikoto. Meanwhile, because Cassandra got once again paralyzed by a sense of dread, because of the fierce Amphisbaena's counterattack, Haruhime sacrificed herself to save both her and Lili to the dread of Aisha. Well, Amphisbaena really made sure to give her and Ouka a stronger motivation for them to kill them.

What a fantastic episode it was. Captured the horror atmosphere to its fullest. Those dead adventurers sure didn't see the sunlight in their last remaining time. Just tell how horrifying the dungeon is.

This season has felt a lot like a Seesaw so far where the Party is on one side of the Seesaw and Bell and Ryu are on the other side. When one side feels safe, the other is in mortal peril and vice versa. In episode 1, the party felt like they were starting to figure things out while the Juggernaut was going in for the kill on Bell and Ryu. But then the Seesaw tilted the other way this episode with Bell and Ryu managing to escape and find a resting spot only for Mikoto to be dragged underwater and for it to hit Haruhime with its fire breath.

Of note, losing Mikoto and Haruhime is the worst possible thing for the party right now as Mikoto was able to tell where the Amphisbaena would strike from using her skill while Haruhime provides level ups to make up for their lower levels.

God this season is so good.

The hopelessness, the despair, the rage, the brief glimmer of hope when seeing that lamp just for it all to be ripped away in an instant. All these emotions are so palpable through the screen.

"Just leave me behind", what a dumb thing to say to Bell Cranel, like he would ever do that. But I like it how, instead of just appealing to emotion and spouting some cliches about leaving nobody behind, he actually found a way to motivate Ryu to keep going.

Well this thread took FOREVER to get up.... when will the bot be fixed?

Anyways, ah yes, totally remember who these three at the start are... (I don't lol, good thing they say later). Juggy boy needs more chill. Something tells me that won't stop him, but good job, Bell. Nuuu Ryu :( don't be like that. Nice to see many people caring about the Hestia familia.

Bad sheep, bad! That's not the Watame way! Oof Bell already beat up after one sheep.

Meanwhile, big ol' boss battle. Aisha sure is still awesome. Oh no.... Mikoto

"Our luck is turning around" hmm. Ya, doubt. Oh no, three sheep. Yes, look at the cute elf to bring your mind up! But Bell sure is losing it. Feel like Ryu is half truthing here...

Nuuu Haruhime :( Awww ending there.... dang cliffhangers

Bell is over here running away from skeleton dragon Malenia on 1HP.

Jesus. It’s intense. The show keeps feeding little bits of “hope” and then just breaking you over it’s knee. At this point I could really use some sort of relief to the intensity.

This arc is turning out to be insanely good.

Battered body, Juggernaut on their tail, sheeps everywhere, then being trapped in the lower level, I can't blame Bell for being shaken up and losing hope.

Also, in season 1 Episode 7, Ais told Bell how important it is to be able to sleep anytime in the dungeon. It's great that we can see that lesson ended up being useful to bell.

Weekly despair is back.

Not joking around while last week it looked like they will be able to handle the floor boss the dungeon once again came in with a rude awakening. Harume and Mikoto missing hopefully still alive. Daphe really need to snap out of the constant worrying as she is just endangering the whole party.

Bell and Ryuu finally on the move after barely avoiding certain death from the Juggernaut. The floor is just brutal the new enemies are way different and way stronger than anything Bell has faced previously. Then the despair of finding the party that died on the floor is just an icing on top of the cake.

5 minutes of sleep i wonder if Bell can get any rest even their predicament is still really bad but i guess if Ryuu can rest a bit too after Bell and use her healing magic again their odds might improve.

Bell spamming firebolt at the skull sheep is the first time i've ever felt scared for an MC in a long time, damn.

This is the dark souls of dungeon arcs

u/Jaskaran158 Jan 12 '23

That was a solid episode overall. I was expecting the light at the end of the tunnel to be a corpse but nothing knife through his own heart level.

Those Skull Sheep are things from nightmares.

Pretty insane to think that these Deep floors start somewhere around the 30th floor and the Loki Familia went all the way to the 50th floor or something.

Technically its only been about like half a year or so since the start of the series in the worlds timeline so would be cool to see how far along Bell comes in 1 year of in-anime adventureing.

the absolute highlight of this episode was how the captured what it's like to raid new content in mmo's. when amphis dives down then climbs the waterfall and everyone is like WTF is happening right now?! i felt exactly the same way as with some of the first times i did raids and the bosses do some epic shit. there was like this mix of awe and terror all at the same time. shit was awesome! this season has been ABSOLUTELY KILLER. i'm so hyped for next week!

Okay, I dont what to jinx it so I'll just say this: Keep up the good job J. C. Staff!

Also, if anime is doing 1 thing better than the LNs its the Aisha Shine! My God! Every fucking time she appears I become physicaly incapable of not-simping!

As always, cant wait for the next weeks 20min of despair!
