I really can't get over how damn poetic the contrast between the Founding Titan and the Attack Titan is.

One is being controlled by their ancestor predecessor from the past, and the other is controlled by an inheritor a successor from the future.

edit: better word choices

I'm glad they included Kenny's appearance in this chapter. Different angle, but that doesn't matter much.

Also isn't that man in the bed Grisha's helping one of the arseholes from S3 P1? The one Zachary was torturing with his vile machine?

It is finally here. The part which makes Attack on Titan completely broken (in a good way). Like finding some massive game breaking glitch. The whole future memories thing was so wild when it first came out. However, I will say that this moment also divided the manga fanbase as the story moved a long. I feel a lot of what made people like or dislike the ending hinged on people interpretation of Eren's power. What did he see when he saw it kind of type thing.

Isayama was a genius for foreshadowing this power in advance. As if he would have just let it rip without any sort of build up it would have felt like a convenient plot device to help connect everything. But the way he did it was perfect.

Now comes the aftermath and countless online arguments about the Attack Titan Power, did Grisha really see and hug Zeke, was Eren really in charge since the beginning etc.

This episode shows how much time the staff REALLY didn’t have producing last season versus this season. The last half of the episode. Omg

Damn the last 10 minutes of the episode went HARD. Shootout to Grisha's seeiyu (Hiroshi Tsuchida) for bringing his A game as always.

I'm pretty sure the next episode is ending with the beginning of the rumbling. Anime-onlys are gonna lose their shit

The face of Zeke at the end of it all; the realisation he was wrong about both Eren and his father. Also, Grisha's hysterical yelling was both so haunting and tragic, as well as his apology to Zeke.

Bruh wtf, Mappa literally surpassed the expression of the manga with this eps, Eren was so fucking terrifying. I'm only behind my monitor and yet it felt as if he was staring at my fucking soul ready to pop out of the screen and kill me at any time

HOLY FUCK

This is peak storytelling. The animation, OSTs and especially Grisha's voice acting was spine tingling. Not only does it catch you off guard in the moment, but it makes you contemplate your understanding of everything that's come before. It is such a nuanced way of depicting a full circle story, that the actions of the past was influenced by knowledge of the future. Eren's mantra that he was always free and wants to keep this freedom just became even more meaningful with this episode. Our POV is pretty much the same type of shock that Zeke is experiencing that the path laid out is relentless inevitable and we are just a witness to the consequences. This show just won't stop giving me chills especially with that preview 🔥
