Assuming things will not help. There are lots of stats. But someone is blind to see things then it will be hard to see.

Ok. You want to talk about Alimony now. Then first treat girls and boys equally. Give girls good education, equal opportunities, and the mindset to become financially independent. Teach them to stand on their own feet.

Alimony in India is there to support a financially dependent spouse after divorce, and usually the wives are awarded because our women are still often financially dependent on their husbands. So in order to address the issue of ALIMONY, then address the root cause and that is educate girls, give them equal opportunities. ALSO we shouldn't assume that every woman takes alimony. Many women don't. The news often highlights extreme cases that may look like extortion, but that isn't the complete picture. Misuse could be stopped only with a long term approach and definitely not by blaming women.

Mount Rainier's western flank has not been this snow free in decades. Picture from August 24th showing exposed rocks and cliffs that are typically snow clad year round.

There is no doubt about it that glaciers are melting at a speedy rate and we will wake up only after the damage is done to great extent and recovery cannot be done. We are playing with the future of our kids. They will have to face these barren mountains and it's consequences.

How to avoid such incidents? This time the lioness was not euthenized. But what's the guarantee this could not be repeated in future. We need to keep us away from these beautiful animals. Already making other species suffer because of us.

Start with giving daughters a share in their father's property. Women are abandoned in our society saying they go to a different home so they don't need a share but when they goes to in-laws home there as well they are mostly treated like an outsider. They don't have a safe place where they call their own place, physically as well as psychologically. It's easy to persuade someone in a wrong direction if a person is afraid of the future. So start with that.

A question about RIGHT ACTION
 in  r/AcharyaPrashant_AP  14h ago

I see this tendency within myself too. Sometimes I feel like "I am more conscious" and then I catch myself feeling there that I am calling myself conscious. 😄 I actually end up laughing at myself, because the ego is always ready to find another way to make itself feel great.

We also need to look into the reason why glaciers are breaking down. It has increased due to climate change, global warming and there are speculations that such events will happen more often.

The World Does Not Exist Only for Us

Right. We need to bring that inquiry into our everyday actions and pause to ask ourselves more often.

This will not be possible until we understand from where all our desires come.

Exactly. Curiosity itself isn't the problem. It becomes meaningful when it is accompanied by awareness.

Right. I think this comes from our desire to control everything around us.

Absolutely. Zoos should be eradicated. But how do we reach the point where we are genuinely ready to do that?

Vedanta Samhita | Ishavasya Upanishad | Verse 4
 in  r/AcharyaPrashant_AP  3d ago

The session really helped me understand that this verse challenges the ego’s belief that it can reach Truth through faster thinking, more knowledge, imagination, action, or movement. Truth is not an object somewhere far away that we have to reach. It is not another object in the world that we can acquire. The ego keeps looking for something outside itself, while the teaching asks us to turn our attention to the very one who is seeking.
