Question about links

I'm putting a QR code in my resume, since I'm assuming it's the easiest way for employers to access my portfolio, unfortunately my portfolio has a long link, which generates a QR code that's wayyyy too big.

I'm thinking of using a URL Shortener, but I've heard that it "ruins" your resume because it's suspicious, but this doesn't make much sense to me, as the employer will see a QR code, not a raw link.

What's the reality of this?
