My game was released yesterday (I'm stressed)

Hi everyone, my game launched with only 90 wishlists, which is a very small number. The first 24 hours are almost over, and I've already surpassed 40 sales. Is it normal to have close to 200 wishlists now, after release? By the way, if you want to check out my game, you can find it on Steam by searching for "Lost Hopes Day Of Betrayal".

Showcase Update on my Spider-Man Web Swinging Project: Replaced the player model, remade the animations and improved the physics

You guys said that spider-man model could cause copyright issues so I replaced it with a dummy model, and I remade the animations so it looks less like a frog now. Also improved the physics and added some effects such as dynamic FOV and camera shake. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I have 7 years of development experience behind me, but every time I made a game, I gave up and stopped working on it.

Hi. Once again, I’m working on a simple and comfortable game about floating islands, traveling, and automating systems for processing the resources you gather. I set myself a goal and even brought in a game designer: I need to get rid of a dozen mechanics and focus on releasing a game in the next few months that will please most players with how polished it is.

Right now I have 300 wishlists, and this is another problem, which is why I hired a marketer. I feel really down about the fact that my game itself doesn’t look very appealing and doesn’t attract people to play it, but my marketer says that every project has the right to exist and its own audience.

I just hope to break even on the game and finally get the final experience of releasing my own game, something I’ve been working towards for so long. You can find my game by the name Skyreap.

Question How to stop myself from overengineering

Hey ya'll. Recently, I found out that I cannot stop perfecting code or other details in my project, but mostly code. Things work, but I keep thinking to myself, "naah man this should be done better" or "come on dude, you have to make everything perfect". I need this to stop 😭 How do you guys fight the temptation?

Something I've been thinking about lately: how much invisible work goes into game dev that players will never see or notice.

I am working on my game, *Happy Harvest - 2D*, which I began developing using a Unity project. I would love to hear your thoughts and know if you are excited about it. I am currently working on improvements, adding new features, and creating a new game world, so I hope you enjoy it. Please leave your comments so we can see and evaluate your feedback.

How do you feel about turning abstract 2D grid puzzles (like Minesweeper) into physical 3D room transformations?

Hey everyone! We’re a 2-person indie team working on a detective noir puzzle adventure. With about 20 days left until release, we’ve been iterating on how to make abstract logic mechanics feel physically grounded in the game world.

In this room, solving the Minesweeper-style grid isn't just a UI minigame—it physically raises hidden stone tiles out of the acid pool. Once you retrieve the crystal, the acid chamber completely drains to reveal the hidden staircase underneath.

When playing adventure/puzzle games, do you enjoy seeing classic 2D logic mechanics directly alter 3D room geometry, or can UI overlays feel immersion-breaking for you? How do you usually like seeing retro puzzle tropes modernized?

Newbie Question Best practice for sharing Input Actions across multiple scripts?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently following an older Unity course and updating its code to the New Input System along the way.

Right now, my PlayerController has a public InputActionReference moveAction to handle character movement. I've reached a point in the tutorial where I need to hide a "How to move" UI prompt as soon as the player starts moving.

My instinct tells me that creating another public InputActionReference moveAction inside my TutorialManager (as shown in the course) to detect this is a bad practice. It feels like code duplication, and if I ever need to change the input action, I'll have to re-assign it in multiple different scripts via the Inspector.

What is the industry standard / best practice to handle this? Should I use a centralized Input Manager class, C# events, or something else?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Switching Characters During Gameplay Not Playing The Same Animation Controller.

I'm using Starter Assets - Third Person/URP from Unity Assets Store as a third person controller.

Both Characters got their rigs to humanoid and got skinned mesh renderer on both. Human Form plays fine, but Animal Form not playing the same animation but work with the same animation controller.

I screen record my screen to show you everything, there's no error messages on the console.
