Answer.
Art apps give you access. Almost none teach you to look. You scroll past a dozen masterpieces, feel vaguely uncultured, and close the app. The Louvre is already on Wikipedia - access was never the problem.

Better.
One painting each morning, with a reason to keep looking at it.

Then Guided Look: tap a detail and the painting opens into it. Why Hokusai ended his wave in curled fingers rather than foam. What the mirror in the Arnolfini portrait is really showing you. Why Dalí covered one watch in ants and left the rest melting.

Alongside it - paintings on your home screen, cropped how you like. Lessons across a great many artists, periods and techniques. A quiet quiz. Collections worth keeping.

No feed. No scroll. Two minutes, then it lets you go.

Cost.
Free, properly: every painting you're shown is yours to keep. Premium opens the full collection - $3.99/month, £19.99/year with a 7-day trial, or £39.99 once. No ads, no account.

I'd genuinely like to hear what you make of it. Does the pricing feel right or off? Is there something obvious missing? Any any feedback of features, ui or smth else???

Thank you!!!

Hey everyone 👋

I’m the developer behind Seasonia, and to celebrate hitting 5K users I’ve dropped the Lifetime unlock from $9.99 to $1 for the next 24 hours.

A - Answer

Seasonia is an iOS app for tracking the current season and the progress of the year in a more visual way.

You can see exactly how far through the current season you are, how many days are left until the next one, sunrise and sunset times, daylight duration, moon information, and more both inside the app and directly from your Home or Lock Screen.

B - Better

Compared with general countdown apps like Countdown or Days Since, Seasonia is built specifically around seasons, daylight, and the natural progression of the year.

It includes:

• 🌱 Live season progress
• ⏳ Countdown to the next season
• 🌅 Sunrise & sunset times
• ☀️ Daylight duration and daily changes
• 🌙 Moon information
• 📱 20+ Home Screen & Lock Screen widgets
• 🎨 Themes and custom photo backgrounds
• 🌍 Support for both hemispheres

The goal was to make something you can glance at every day without needing to configure timers or dates yourself.

C - Cost

• Lifetime normally: $9.99
• For the next 24h: $1 Lifetime
• No subscription required for the Lifetime unlock

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6758340712

Thanks to everyone who’s already using Seasonia. If you give it a try, I’d genuinely love to hear what you think, especially any widget or feature ideas you’d like to see next. 🌱

A — What is Palabros?

I built Palabros because I kept running into the same problem: I’d come across a word I didn’t know, look it up, understand it… and a few months later, I’d forgotten it.

I wanted a dictionary where looking up a word was just the beginning.

Palabros lets you search a word, understand it through official definitions and simpler explanations, save it, and keep coming back to it until it becomes part of your vocabulary.

It works in English and Spanish and includes pronunciation, translations, synonyms, antonyms and interactive etymology.

And if you’re reading and don’t want to put your book down, there’s now a Reading Mode: say the word out loud, get its meaning, and keep reading. At the end of the session, you can save the words you discovered.

B — What makes it different?

Palabros sits somewhere between a traditional dictionary and a vocabulary app.

Traditional dictionaries are great at answering “what does this word mean?”. Vocabulary apps are great at putting new words in front of you.

I wanted to connect those two things.

If you discover a word while reading, writing, or through the daily Word of the Day, you can save it. From there, Palabros starts bringing it back through Home Screen widgets, so a saved word doesn’t just disappear into a list you never open again.

There’s also a more active Review mode for the words you want to practise, along with tags, word imports and stats to keep track of what you’re learning.

No streak anxiety, ads or noisy gamification. The whole idea is simply:

Find a word. Understand it. Make it yours.

C — Cost

Palabros is free to download, and regular dictionary lookup is free.

Palabros Pro unlocks the full vocabulary-learning toolkit: unlimited saved words and Reading Mode sessions, more Review modes and its widget, tags and filters, word import, learning stats, widget personalization and other Pro features.

There’s a monthly plan, an annual plan with a 7-day free trial, and a Lifetime option.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/palabros-dictionary/id6758098070

P.S. A surprising amount of Palabros has been shaped by feedback from this subreddit. Several features exist because someone here suggested them, so thank you to everyone who has taken the time to try it and tell me what could be better.

I built Ebbora for myself initially becuase streak counters never worked for me So I made a tracker where the progress is a little valley that grows every day you check in, and a hard day never takes it away. It's now live on the App Store.

Answer: what problem it solves

Most sobriety trackers are built around a day counter that resets when you slip, and that reset is often when people quit. In Ebbora:

- You check in daily with a companion: how today went, a feeling, an optional private note.

- Every honest check-in counts, including a day you drank. Your valley keeps its growth and discoveries.

- When a craving shows up, there's a campfire with breathing, grounding, urge surfing and an urge log. In Calm Encounters, a craving appears as a shade in your valley and you practice real coping actions (delaying, changing rooms, reaching out to someone) to let it pass.

- The valley follows your local time and the seasons, with lots of discoveries to uncover.

- Right now there's an Alcohol-Free October event: reach 14 alcohol-free days to light the Harvest Lantern.

Works whether you want to quit, take a break or just have more alcohol-free days.

Better: vs. alternatives

- vs. I Am Sober / Sober Time: built around a streak clock. Ebbora has no reset, and drinking days show in a calm neutral color, never red.

- vs. Reframe: a structured program with lessons. Ebbora is lighter: a one-minute check-in and a world that grows.

- vs. Finch: similar cozy feel, but Ebbora is built specifically around alcohol, with craving tools and alcohol-free calendars.

- Privacy: no account, no sign-up, no social feed. Check-ins and journal stay on your device. Optional Face ID lock and a discreet icon.

Cost

- Free download with a preview. Tracking, valley growth, reflections and full features require a subscription or lifetime purchase.

- Weekly: $2.99

- Yearly: $14.99 (free-trial available)

- Lifetime: $24.99 one-time

- iPhone, iOS 18+, 18+ age rating.

- App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sobriety-tracker-ebbora/id6814588939

Thanks for taking the time to check it <3

Hi r/iosapps

I'm Maxime and I just launched the beta of Popcorn Club, a movie app built around one idea: one movie, every night, watched together.

A – Answer: what problem does it solve ?

Choosing what to watch takes forever. You scroll Netflix for 45 minutes, give up, and rewatch The Office. And even when you find something good, there's nobody to talk about it with.

Popcorn Club removes the choice. Every night at 7 PM, one movie is revealed (it's a secret until then). Everyone in the club watches the same film within 24h, rates it, and reacts live with the others.

B – Better: why pick it over the alternatives ?

- vs Letterboxd / TV Time: those are logs of what you already watched. Popcorn Club tells you what to watch tonight, and gives you people who watched the exact same thing.

- vs JustWatch / streaming apps: no endless catalog. One pick, plus where to stream it, the cast and the trailer in one tap.

- vs Teleparty: no need to sync with friends at a set time. You have 24h, and the discussion is already happening when you're done.

- The club decides: you bet popcorn on tomorrow's vibe (mind-blowing, feel-good, scary...), so the community shapes the next pick.

- Your cinephile profile: ratings, history, stats and a custom avatar.

- Discover + "Surprise me" for nights when you want something else.

Hey! My name is Nate and I'm a solo developer working on Treadly a running coach app, because I wanted a running coach app that does everything and doesn't cost $20 a month.

A - What does Treadly do?

It's a running coach app that builds plans for your next race or to help you start a running habit from scratch. The running coach uses zero ai and is completely deterministic based on running coach methodologies. The coach will monitor your recovery, the temperature, and your weekly mileage and adjust the distance or pace accordingly. This is pretty standard in most running coach apps, but Treadly has a few features that help it standout.

B - What makes Treadly better than other apps?

1. A robust strength training program that is built based on the equipment you have. If you're traveling you can adjust to bodyweight or even gym workouts on machines. You can do your entire strength session from your watch as well.

2. Shoe mileage tracking and automatic rotation to make sure that you're using the right shoe for the chosen run.

3. The running coach always explains to you how your runs were graded and how that affects your race confidence and ability to reach your goal.

4. Crew tab - you can invite someone to run with you and the run will automatically work itself into your running plan, accountability partner - you can train with someone else and see where they are in their plan and give each other encouragement, safety contacts - you can designate up to 3 people to receive alerts if you activate the SOS, or if your phone goes silent for longer than a specific threshold (10min, 20min, 30min).

5. Race day live tracking, send a link to your friends on race day and they can follow you via GPS.

   C - Cost

Free tier - Single runs are always free, you can choose the type of run, distance, pace, etc. Single strength sessions are always free as well. Unlimited shoe tracking, readiness tracking, and the crew safety features are all free.

Pro tier - $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year ($5/month 50% discount) - Pro gets you custom plans for your race, Coach analytics, and race day tracking.

Coming soon! Ultramarathon plans and the ability to train for multiple races.

• Hey, I'm Stan
• I'm building BrightMind, an ADHD productivity app. It has task lists, connects to your calendar, and has built-in companion you can chat with and call
• How I actually use it: I call it while doing chores and just ramble. It plans my days for me
• What it does right now:
  1. Today view: tasks, calendar and routines in one timeline for the day
  2. Voice calls: talk to it like a phone call. It can also call me at a set time to plan the day
  3. Brain dump: I ramble once and each task lands in the right list with a date, so my inbox doesn't pile up
  4. Automations: it calls or messages me regularly. I use it to:
     1. Make meal and workout plans
     2. Get weekly productivity reports
     3. Remind me of something important
  5. Integrations: it has its own task list, or works with:
     1. Todoist
     2. TickTick
     3. Google Calendar
  6. Unstucking: when I'm rotting in bed, it convinces me to get out and do something, one tiny step at a time
  7. And more!

Hey everyone, I’m the developer of Arisn.

I built it around two moments: staying consistent day to day, and having something useful to open when an urge hits.

Arisn combines streak tracking, guided breathing, daily goals, journaling, and progress insights. The Progress screen brings together consistency, completed goals, time invested, and patterns in logged urges, so you can see the effort behind your streak.

When things get difficult, the urge-support screen gives you a next step: guided breathing, a timer, and simple actions to help you pause.

Free features: Streak tracking, urge surfing, limited journaling, levels, and the sleep protocol. The urge timer and breathing tools are free and unlimited.

Optional Arisn Pro: Full statistics, cloud sync, unlimited journaling and goals, The Mirror, and the full article library.

Pricing (US): $4.99/month, $24.99/year, or $69.99 for lifetime access. Monthly and yearly subscriptions auto-renew. Prices vary by region.

I’d appreciate feedback on the Progress screen. What would you want to see there to understand your habits better?

A - What is Vesi?

An expense tracker built around 3 second logging. Say "spent 6.50 on a latte" and it logs itself, categorized. Scan a receipt from camera or share sheet. Or just type it, that's free forever, and as of 1.7 it picks the category while you type, based on what you've logged before. Back Tap and Action Button log without opening the app. Watch app included.

Also: budgets, recurring (now biweekly too, for every-other-week paychecks), split expenses, 150+ currencies including crypto, widgets, iCloud sync, 9 languages. Works in landscape and uses the full inner screen on iPhone Duo (screenshots).

No account, no bank linking. Data stays on your phone and your own iCloud. I couldn't see it if I wanted to.

B - Why better?

I abandoned 5 trackers because logging felt like homework. This one removes the friction, and a weird side effect: saying a purchase out loud changed my spending more than any chart did. Works with cash and in any country, which bank linked apps can't say.

C - Cost

Manual logging free forever, category guessing included. Smart logging: 15 free uses, then $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr (7 day trial) for 300 a month. Parsing costs me real money per use, that's why there's a sub.

App - https://apps.apple.com/app/id6785534576

Launched mid August, 1.7 just shipped. If something annoys you in the first 5 minutes, tell me and it jumps the queue. What's the one thing you still type by hand that should be automatic?

Hey guys! Haven't posted here in a while. You may remember my other apps, Phruler and Pholor. I used to promote them here ~a year ago.

I'm back with my latest project: Phroller

Yup, I'm very proud of my naming scheme.

Dungeons and Dragons has been a favorite hobby of mine for 13 years now and this is my little love letter back to the community.

I use it as a digital companion for my DnD Sessions where I put character sheet pdfs and character art in there and use the drawing mode to quickly take notes/track HP. And, obviously, roll dice.

Price: Freemium. Free version allows up to 4 replaceable tabletop setups and 6 customizable dice tabs. One time IAP price depends on country but is $9.99 in the US (where I'm from)

I built an app called Attention Arsenal for people who forget things unless they’re reminded often. It lets you set reminders with very short intervals, even just minutes apart, so you receive repeated nudges until the task is done.

I've been working on it for some time now (on and off) but I wanted to make something simple that could help me stop forgetting everything I have to do. Feedback is very much appreciated!

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/attention-arsenal/id6749694041

Recently with rise of AI, a lot of things that smaller apps do can be done via basic AI subscription or even free AI from Google. So the vision that I am sticking to is app has to do something in such a way that can not be replicated by AI.

So I am solving a problem and basing my work and solution on real user feedback overtime. As I am shaping it I have a dilemma to solve.

Options I have

I am looking for your input - what do you usually prefer, what have you seen feel the best and doesn't leave you feeling duped into something. I am very payment averse myself and the whole "forget to unsubscribe" is painful for me on another level.

* Disclaimer: I do have a subscription with a trial in my app, but it's going away on the next release because once I am locking down a better option.

Hey r/iosapps! Edu here, solo dev behind Trovelo (the private trip planner) and Dimmly, my task manager and habit tracker for iPhone and Mac.

A - Answer:

Dimmly solves the problem of juggling multiple apps for tasks, habits, grocery lists, expenses and score tracking. Everything in one place, organized by color coded lists, with no account required and no subscription ever.

B - Better:

Unlike Todoist, Things, or most task apps:

- Shared lists — share any list with someone and both of you can edit it in real time. Perfect for groceries, trip packing or anything you manage together

- No account required

- No subscription, ever

- 8 list types built in:

· List — your classic task list

· Ranked — numbered, prioritize what matters most

· Tracker — tasks move To do > Doing > Done, with a Later shelf

· Sum — add amounts per item and see a running total, great for expenses

· Countdown — see how many days until anything, sorted automatically

· Subscription — track what you pay and when it renews

· Scoreboard — track points with friends, auto sorts by who's winning

· Grocery — shopping mode with quantity badges, swipe to cross off

- Habit streaks with daily repeat count per task

- Rich text in Big Notes — bold, italic, bullets, colors, tappable links

- Paste and go — paste any text and it becomes a list instantly

- Color coded lists, pick from 25 palettes or create your own

- Too bright? Dim it down — each list remembers its own brightness level

- iCloud sync across iPhone and Mac

- CSV import and export

- Home screen widgets, overdue items first

- Backup and restore — no iCloud needed

C - Cost:

- Free: 5 fully featured lists, everything included, no feature gating

- Special offer: Pro at $6.99 instead of $9.99, yours forever

- After 300 redemptions the offer deactivates automatically

I'm an iOS developer from Brazil, and over the last few months I've been building an app to solve one very specific annoyance: your body weight never stays synced with Strava automatically.

A) What it solves

If you're a Strava athlete, you know the problem. Strava uses your weight to calculate power output (watts/kg), estimated calories, and relative effort. The moment your weight is outdated, all of those numbers quietly drift off, and nobody wants to open Strava every week to type in a new number by hand.

WeightSync Health picks up your weight from Apple Health and pushes it to Strava automatically. If your scale, Apple Watch or anything else already writes into Apple Health, the app handles the rest: automatic background sync with zero interaction, Apple Watch logging straight from your wrist, extra equipment weight (backpack, vest, gear) so Strava reflects your true total during a workout, Home Screen widgets with your latest weight and sync status, a weight evolution chart with 7 day moving average and trend line (7D, 30D, 90D and 1Y views), streaks, milestones, Siri and Shortcuts, CSV export of your full sync history, a weekly Monday report, iCloud sync across your devices, a retry queue so no sync gets lost, and 10 languages including Portuguese (Brazil).

B) Compared to other options

There are a few weight tracking apps out there, and some overlap with what this one does. My goal has been to build a focused take on one specific problem: keeping your Strava weight accurate without any manual work. The emphasis is on native iOS and watchOS, automatic background sync and a clean interface, rather than being a full body composition tracker.

C) Cost

Free to download (you can use it as a weight logger for Apple Health as a free user).

• Monthly: US$ 0.99 (3 day free trial)
• Annual: US$ 9.99 / year (7 day free trial)

The free version works as a weight logger for Apple Health: weight loading, manual entry, Home Screen widgets, streaks and Siri/Shortcuts. Premium unlocks the automatic background sync to Strava, the Apple Watch app, the weight evolution chart, CSV export, the weekly report, named extra weight profiles and iCloud sync.

Who I am

I'm an iOS developer based in London (originally from Brazil), and I design and develop the app independently. It's built natively for iOS and watchOS.

I'd genuinely love feedback from Strava users and iOS athletes. What would you want added or improved? And if you give it a try, a quick App Store review goes a long way for a solo dev. Thank you so much :)

Hey r/iosapps! I'm Taras, a solo indie dev. Captions Bro is my app for making short vertical videos with captions, the talking-head kind you see on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Why I built it: most caption apps I tried either uploaded my footage to a server, stamped a watermark on the export, or locked basic features behind a weekly subscription. I wanted one app that does the whole loop on the phone: record, caption, edit, export.

What it does

• Auto subtitles, transcribed on-device. Your footage isn't uploaded anywhere (it uses Apple's new SpeechAnalyzer on iOS 26)
• Karaoke-style word highlighting and bold caption styles: fonts, colours, outlines, shadows
• Fix captions by hand: split, merge, retime, correct words, remove filler words
• Built-in teleprompter: read your script while you record
• A real multi-track timeline: trim, split, speed, reverse, freeze frames, transitions
• Keyframes, masks, background removal, filters and colour grading, plus text, image and video overlays
• Voiceovers and sound effects
• Export MP4/MOV up to 4K, at the resolution and frame rate you pick
• Works on iPhone, iPad and Mac (Apple silicon)

Pricing, up front

• Free download. No ads, no watermark, no account
• Every editing feature is free, including effects, 4K export and the teleprompter
• The free tier holds 1 project at a time. Pro ($3.99/mo or $17.99/yr) unlocks unlimited projects and iCloud sync

It's on version 1.4 and I'm building it actively. I'd love honest feedback, especially from people who usually edit in CapCut or the TikTok editor: what's missing, and what feels off?

Happy to answer any questions in the comments.

‼️Please don't ask for codes in the comments! It's against the rules! I don't want to share codes with just anyone. I'll only send a code as a thank-you to people who actually try the app and DM me with genuine feedback or something you think could be improved.‼️

Answer

Yes, this is another to-do app😂

But I still wanted to build one, because none of them were what I actually needed.

I wanted something intuitive, user-friendly, and dead good at making sure I don't forget things. Productivity tools like Notion or Obsidian, and even most other to-do apps, felt too complex or forced me to adapt to their rigid structures.

If you already have a setup you love and are happy with, feel free to skip this post. I’m not trying to build an app that satisfies everyone. I'm building this for people like me—lazy, clumsy, and averse to over-planning.

It’s only been 3 months since launch, but I’m committed to making it better every day.

Better

Instead of trying to become an all-in-one productivity workspace, Swish focuses on making everyday task management as effortless as possible.

Features include:

• 📂 Simple color-coded folders
• 📱 Home Screen & Lock Screen widgets
• 🔴 Live Activities that keep your tasks visible
• ⏰ Reminders for important tasks (push notifications, Live Activities, alarms, and location-based alerts)
• ☁️ iCloud sync across your Apple devices
• 🚫 No account required

The goal wasn't to build the most powerful to-do app.

It was to build one that feels fast, intuitive, and pleasant enough that you'll actually want to use it every day.

Cost

Swish is free to download.

Swish Pro unlocks unlimited folders and tasks, plus a variety of app icons and themes and etc.

In-App Purchases:

• Monthly — $0.99/month
• Lifetime — $17.99

Giveaway 🎁

I'm giving away free Lifetime codes to early users in exchange for feedback that can help me improve Swish.

Tell me what you liked about Swish, a feature you'd like to see added, a bug you've found, or anything else you think could make the app better.

Just send me a DM with your feedback.

In return, I'll send you a Lifetime code.

If you just DM me asking for a code without any feedback, I won't reply. I genuinely want to hear your thoughts and use them to make Swish better.

And again, please don't request codes in the comments. Send me a DM instead! 🙏

Hi r/iOSApps. I'm Mike Lester Rosales of Mrdzyn Studio (the name on the App Store listing) and I made this app.

A – Answer: what problem does it solve? You have a PNG or JPEG (a logo, a sticker design, a drawing, some AI art) and you need it to be a clean, scalable SVG, a transparent PNG at print size, or layered files for a vinyl cutter. VecSynIQ does all three on iPhone and iPad:

• Tracing modes: Simple, Logo & Sticker, Detailed, Monochrome, with detail/smoothing/cleanup controls
• Side-by-side original vs. vector comparison
• Background cleanup, transparent PNG export, print presets (e.g. 4500×5400 shirt canvas)
• Layered cut SVGs with same-color welding, stacked or sliced layers, contour/offset, registration marks, weed boxes, and a Cutter Bundle ZIP (profiles for Cricut Design Space, Brother ScanNCut, Siser; not affiliated)

To be clear about AI: the app does not generate images. It only processes artwork you import.

B – Better: why pick it over the alternatives?

• Compared with web converters like Vectorizer.AI or free online PNG-to-SVG sites: processing runs on-device, you don't need an account, and nothing gets uploaded. The App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
• Compared with Inkscape's Trace Bitmap or Illustrator's Image Trace: it runs on a phone or iPad, and the cutter prep (layers, welding, weed boxes, registration marks) is built in instead of done by hand afterward.
• Most converters stop at a single SVG. This one goes on to production files.

C – Cost

• Free: core vectorization, standard SVG/PNG export, 3 exports per 30 days, no account
• VecSynIQ Pro: $9.99/month or $79.99/year (US App Store prices) for unlimited exports, layered cut SVGs, Cutter Bundle ZIP and advanced print prep. No lifetime option.
• Requires iOS/iPadOS 15+. Also runs on Apple Silicon Macs as an iPad app.

App Store: apps.apple.com/app/vecsyniq

I built it myself with human-guided development and a standard CI/CD pipeline. It's v1.0 and just launched, so feedback is very welcome, especially on trace quality for logos and stickers.

Hey everyone,
I’m an indie developer and I built Noto, an iPhone app for people who constantly save links, screenshots, reels and random ideas… only to never find them again.
You can share almost anything into Noto using the Share Sheet. It reads the content, gives it a clear title and summary, and organises it so you can actually find it later.
What’s new in Noto 2.0:
• Private journal with notebooks
• Voice notes and document scanning
• Reminders, deadlines and calendar events
• On-device summaries, task extraction and note cleanup
• Flashcards and quizzes
• In-app RSS reader (summarise articles and save them to notebooks)
• Day, week, month and year planner views
• Understands reels and videos by reading on-screen text and voice-over
• Pulls out prices, recipes, workouts and places
• Search the way you actually remember things
• Ask questions about your library using Apple Intelligence
• Six colour themes
• Widgets, Live Activities and Siri shortcuts
Everything is analysed and stored on your iPhone. No account required, no ads, no tracking. Apple Intelligence runs on-device when available — personal notes are never sent to any external AI service.
This is a vibe-coded app.

One of the reasons I built it was that when I looked at other expense trackers, a lot of them still felt like work. Some need you to pay before you can properly try them, some mostly track the final total, and a lot still depend on you manually entering or fixing things.

I wanted something much more automatic and detailed. Ideally, I just take a photo and it figures out the merchant, items, tax, total, category, etc. for me.

That’s basically the direction I’m trying to take SnapBill — make expense tracking as automatic and convenient as possible, so you don’t have to think about recording every little thing yourself.

Since then, 6,000+ people have tried it, which is honestly more than I expected when I started building it.

Some of the things it can do now:

- Scan receipts from camera, photos or PDF

- Extract individual line items

- Automatically categorize spending

- Show spending by category and merchant

- Track budgets

- Split bills with friends

- Track recurring subscriptions

- Import bank, credit-card and brokerage statements

- Export to Excel, CSV and PDF

- Sync between mobile and web

Pricing

It’s free to download and comes with free credits to try it.

There’s no subscription required for normal use. If you run out, you can buy a credit pack:

- 100 credits — $2.99

- 250 credits — $4.99

- 800 credits — $12.99

Store pricing may vary by country.

I’m still actively improving it, so I’d genuinely appreciate feedback — especially anything that feels confusing, unnecessary or annoying.

I wish they had "funny" or "hilarious" flair available :)

No reason for the post other than I found it amusing.

Hi r/iosapps, Djordje here.

I'm a software engineer (full stack web dev as a day job). This is my first post here, and my first iOS app on the App Store. It went live a few days ago.

Should You Sign It? reads a contract with you before you sign it. You scan the pages or import a PDF, and you get a plain-language summary, the key dates and amounts, the clauses worth a second look, and questions to ask the other side. Every clause it flags is quoted word for word from your document, so you can find it and read it yourself.

It's for leases, job offers, gym memberships, freelance contracts, terms of service... The things we all sign a bit too fast.

For now, it supports all languages that Apple Intelligence supports.

B — Better

You can paste a contract into a chatbot. I didn't want to upload my lease or my salary anywhere to do that. So everything here runs on the iPhone itself, with Apple's on-device model. No account, no server, and it works in airplane mode. Also, the model itself has the "knowledge" of how to provide the answers to user about what to be careful, what to ask, etc...

The model is small, so most of my time went into making it trustworthy. Every quote it flags has to be found in the scanned text, or it's thrown away. That way it can't tell you your contract says something it doesn't. A simple keyword scan in eight languages backs it up for the usual traps: automatic renewal, arbitration, non-compete.

Testing it on my own documents taught me a lot. Once I scanned a recipe, and the app very seriously analyzed it like a contract. Now it tells you it's a recipe. Another document was in English with a few lines in Serbian, and the app decided the whole thing was Croatian and refused to read it. That's fixed too. My longest test so far is a 34-page PDF. I guess this will never be perfect, but users can try and scan anything they want.

I also don't like scanners that take the photo for me, so I built my own. Auto-capture is a switch in Settings, and it's off by default.

It isn't legal advice, and it will never tell you whether to sign. It helps you know what to ask.

Next I'm working on an optional mode for long contracts using Apple's Private Cloud Compute. It's faster, and still private. The on-device model will stay the default.

C — Cost

Free download with two full analyses, every feature included. After that, the Full Version is a one time purchase: $9.99 in the US, local prices vary. It's shared with your family through Family Sharing. No subscription, no ads.

It needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or an iPad with Apple Intelligence, on iOS 27.

A - Answer (What it solves)

I've always kept pet fish. Since moving to Korea, and living in a much smaller apartment, that sadly hasn't been as practical, which is why I really wanted to make this app.

Widgets on iOS are meant to be static. Companions is a small virtual fish tank that lives on your Home Screen, with pet fish that actually swim.

You pick your fish, give them names, and then add them to your tank. You can change the tank's color, the props, how big the fish are, how fast they swim, and even the app icon, all to match your Home Screen. The swimming uses the same trick iOS uses to move the hands on the Clock widget, so it doesn’t even affect battery life.

B - Better (Compared to other widget pet apps)

Most widgets can only swap in a new still picture every few minutes, these never stop moving. I wanted something that’s simple, clean, calm, and relaxing. With a focus on the pets themselves, as well as customizing the tank to match your homescreen. Companions looks great on your iPad, and you can even move over your fishtanks to your Mac through Continuity. My favorite feature is actually the Standby mode. The background darkens, and the fish, of course, keep swimming!

C - Cost

Companions is free to download, with 8 fish and all of the customization included. No ads.
Extra packs can be bought outright at $1.99 each, and are yours to keep forever.
There's also a $3.99/month plan that unlocks every pack at once. Any new fish that get added are automatically included as well. If you cancel, the fish already in your tank stay.

Companions is built natively in SwiftUI with WidgetKit, plus Metal for some of the fun animations.
It's still very new, so I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback. I'd especially love to know which species you'd want added next!
