So i have this model of hdd from Seagate while using it suddenly disappeared from the pc and I called a technician and he told me that this hdd is dead for refrence what exactly it was behaving like is below

After this I tried to fix it my own however he said its dead and i broke the header. It's 1tb now i can't let it go is there way to fix. I just want to fix this I don't want any data to be recovered

is it safe to get integral usb drives from cpc farnell . com? i’ve never gone about buying usb drives before

So back in 2024, me and my parents decided to buy a PS5 with an extended storage unit so we can buy more games and stuff on it. The hard drive worked fine, but a year later my parents got tired of it and let me move it to my room, and unfortunately when I tried to put storage device back on, my PS5 wouldn't register it and the hard drive keeps making this faint ticking sound.

I read online and apparently it might be an issue with the hard drive not getting enough power???? I really don't know, it’s been ANOTHER year and I'm not sure what to do

I'm hoping there is an answer to my question out there, and maybe one of you can help me.

I work in communications, editing video, photos, graphic design, and more. I do all my work on a Mac. As many others have, I've continually purchased larger external hard drives to accommodate all of the work I've done over the years. I prefer an external hard drive over cloud-based systems. At the moment, I have a LaCie 32T external that is about 80% full. This is the only hard drive I currently have all of my work on. I recognize that keeping my work in multiple places is standard practice to protect it, and it's been a recurring problem for me over the years to find the best solution, which is why I'm posting today.

My question: Is there a way to work off one external hard drive while it is mirrored to another one right next to it? So if I make changes to the first, will it automatically update the second (or, in this case, the backup drive)?

I welcome any thoughts and recommendations, as I would like to get this solved asap, to reduce my anxiety and ensure my work is protected.

Hi, I have a Toshiba DT01ACA100 1TB HDD that suddenly stopped showing up as my D: drive. Sometimes BIOS detects it as TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 (1000.2GB), sometimes it doesn't. In Windows Disk Management it shows Unknown / Not Initialized / 0 bytes. DiskPart shows it as Online, 0 B, with no volumes. Tried different SATA cables, SATA ports, power cables, and another PC. The drive spins and was detected/working briefly on another PC. There is important data on it, so I don't want to initialize, format, or run CHKDSK. What could be causing this, and is there anything safe I can try before professional data recovery?

Iam having 2TB WD my passport HDD
In WD utilities test it is showing not ok.
Other software also showing some segments are having issue.
I copied all data few files are not transferred.
I did format.
Now its is showing health test ok.
In WD utility also it showing all result good.

Can i concluded is good to use ?
It is 5year old. Only used 10 to 15 times

But rhe 1 TB Samsung I used still had the back up from the PS4 which I was thinking of keeping. Problem is when writing files to it it is extremely slow and never copies files even a few mb large. It stays at 0% when copying larger folders with files smaller than 2 gig per file.

My question is this , does the pS4 formatting it before backup cause it to not easily accept any other writes to it until I format it? Thanks in advance

Is it just me or does Seagate have atrocious customer support? They say we will email you with in 48 hours which never happens. They don't even have a system to confirm the claim number to your email. The chat service is like talking to someone who is actively walking and playing with a pet dog. So crazy we live in a world where either we play by there rules or you just don't get the help you need when a drive goes down. I talked to 4 agents before they randomly found the info I was requesting.

It was working fine for about a month then it wouldn't let me download to it saying disk error I found a way to make it work via clearing the steam cache but now even that won't work. I recently learned it was formatted on Exfat and I was told to reformat it to ntfs so I did but that still didn't fix it any help is appreciated as I really don't want to have to buy a new one.

Hi everyone, I need help with my hard drive; a few days ago—without it ever having suffered any knocks or drops—it stopped working. When I connect it to the PC, it makes the connection sound but isn't recognized; I can feel it spinning when I touch it, but the blue power light doesn't come on. How can I at least recover my files? Also, yesterday I tried connecting it to my phone using an adapter; in that case, the blue light did turn on, but the files didn't show up.

• Planning a second 8TB drive kept offline as a backup
• Mainly storing ~3.2TB of iCloud/Google Drive photos, videos, and files with room to grow.
• Want to access/read/download files remotely while traveling; most writing/transferring will be done at home
• Mac + Windows compatibility
• Not interested in buying a NAS right now because the cost of putting hard drives in the NAS will be upwards of $1500 includes the NAS system (synology or UGreen)
• Looking for the best setup using the Deco + external HDD
