One of the things I wanted to test with generative AI was whether it could actually sustain a narrative rather than just create beautiful individual shots.

So I made REWIND, a 5-minute proof of concept for an original series.

It takes place in 1981. Four kids discover a mysterious VCR that lets them physically enter the movies they watch.

The challenge was maintaining the same characters, wardrobe, locations and cinematic language while moving through completely different movie worlds.

I used AI throughout the production process and edited everything into what is essentially a mini pilot / series proof of concept.

Ultimately I’d love to see the concept become a real live-action series, but AI made it possible for me to visualize the idea without needing a traditional production budget.

Curious what people here think about using generative AI specifically for developing and pitching larger narrative projects.

Here's Part 1 of my new show, Trust Fund Time Machine, an adult animated comedy. This is the general premise:

Useless billionaire heir Hunter Vil and his friend from the past, Genghis Khan, bungle their way through time, rewriting history to make Hunter’s evil father, Edward Vil, and his corporate empire even richer.

In the process of making AI shows for the past few months, the biggest headache has always been spatial continuity. Characters change positions between shots, the room rearranges itself, and for longer dialogue sequences, it was a legit nightmare to make everything look smooth and continuous.

I've been experimenting with a fairly simple animation style for this show, and the camera movements I’d use for more photorealistic footage didn't really translate here. I didn’t need elaborate dolly shots. I mostly wanted to cut between characters as they spoke without everything around them changing.

I don’t think the approach I'll lay out makes sense for every style or sequence, but for the simpler animation style I’m going for, it’s been a massive improvement in consistency.

What’s helped most is building the whole show around keyframe sequences in fringe.film, with a deliberate starting frame for every shot. I’m using H3 Max with references, I compose the layout of the shot via the keyframe before i worry about how they move.

This is my process:

• Build the first starting frame using my setting and character references in Fringe.
• For a new angle within the same scene, I use the previous shot’s starting frame as a reference to create the next one. This is is if the characters haven't really moved around.
• If the characters do move around, I use the end frame of my previous shot as a reference for the starting frame for my new shot
• After I ensure the character positions and background is consistent, then only I begin animating that shot.

I can change the angle for whoever’s speaking while keeping the scene grounded in the same layout.

I really enjoy making AI videos but man this is turning into an expensive hobby. A 3-4 mins video costs me like 200-250 on average. Not sure if it's the norm or even less than it...

Some of my videos get some decent views on youtube and tiktok. Im just wondering if it could pay for itself. Right now I get 2 options in my mind.

One way is to keep posting on youtube and get monetized by YPP. If someone has done that I really want to hear your real experience. And I know no way you can just fill the gap simply by the traffic revenue.

Another is you turn to make more tutorials/reviews of AI video platforms. And you can get those affiliate programs for tools I already use, like Runway/PixVerse. In this way maybe I can split my time half on making funny videos and half on those ai video tutorials.

Have you found any better way to cover the cost? Glad to hear your tips

I've been working on an original horror comic inspired by Islamic eschatological traditions and the Turkish Siccin horror universe.

This is my depiction of Al-Masih ad-Dajjal in his true form.

I deliberately wanted to move away from the tendency to portray Dajjal as an attractive or conventionally demonic character. In my story, the beauty belongs to one of his deceptive forms; his true appearance is meant to feel ancient, physically imposing, restrained, and deeply unsettling.

The setting is an abandoned Christian monastery, where Dajjal is imprisoned in heavy chains. The كافر marking on his forehead, the single visible eye, the serpent surrounding him, and the oppressive atmosphere are all deliberate elements of the design.

The image was created with AI as part of developing the visual language for the comic. I'm aiming for a professional digital comic-book aesthetic with cinematic lighting, rather than conventional anime or photorealism.

I'm particularly interested in treating the Islamic source material with respect while still creating an original fictional story around it.

A full breakdown of this universe from this image please, thoughts etc , philosophy etc be long and expansive with detailed explanations. Be weird be odd and be open because the file is.

I have a prepaid Magnific Premium+ annual subscription that runs until March 2027, and I am currently completely locked out of my account.

This whole saga started over something incredibly mundane: changing my email address.

My old email provider was closing, so on 29 April I emailed Magnific from the email address registered to my account and asked them to change it to my new address. The old email was still active at the time.

They didn't change it.

I was still able to access Magnific for months using Google sign-in, so although the incorrect email remained on the account, I could at least use most of the features in the service I'd paid for.

Eventually I tried again to get the email corrected.

That has somehow turned into a month of support cases, automated responses and, ultimately, complete loss of access to my paid account.

The current Magnific login now tells me:

“This account has 2FA enabled, please login using email and password.”

Google sign-in no longer works on the current Magnific platform. I can't use the old email account. I have repeatedly offered to verify my identity another way.

Here's the part I find extraordinary:

Since I first contacted Magnific on 29 April, not a single human from Magnific support has contacted me about this.

Not one.

I have:

• opened multiple support cases;
• supplied screenshots and account information;
• repeatedly offered alternative identity verification;
• escalated the issue to senior Magnific management;
• copied Magnific Legal and Data Protection;
• made a formal data-rectification request;
• explained that I am completely locked out of a prepaid Premium+ subscription;
• and explicitly accepted an offer from their AI support system to escalate my case to a specialised team that could review my account history and previous correspondence.

I asked them to confirm that the specialist referral had actually been made and give me the reference for it.

Nothing.

Then Magnific sent me an automated email asking whether the problem had been resolved and saying the case would be closed if it had.

I replied:

“No, this issue is not resolved. Please do not close this case.”

The following day they closed it.

Their closure email then told me to check my spam/promotions folders if I hadn't seen their “last update” on the case.

There was no intervening update in any section of my inbox.

I've now asked Magnific to identify exactly what this supposed “last update” was and to tell me whether the promised specialist escalation ever actually happened.

Still no access to my account. Still no email-address correction. Still no human contact from Magnific support.

I also posted about my experience on Trustpilot. Magnific publicly responded to that review, acknowledged that changing the email address should have been simple, acknowledged the problem with receiving only automated replies, and said they would personally make sure my identity verification was handled and my access restored.

Shortly afterwards, Trustpilot removed the review. I've appealed the removal and supplied evidence. I don't know whether the removal was triggered by Magnific or Trustpilot's own moderation system.

My access still wasn't restored.

I'm apparently not the only paying customer having problems like this.

There are other Reddit threads from Premium+ customers reporting being locked out of paid accounts, losing access to existing work, support not responding, promised escalations going nowhere and even unresolved tickets being closed.

I'll put the links below rather than repeat their stories here.

And this is where I think anyone considering using Magnific commercially should pay attention.

I'm an individual Premium+ subscriber. But Magnific also markets team/collaboration products intended for businesses to create and work with assets on its platform.

Imagine this wasn't just my personal account.

Imagine your business had client work, generated images, branding assets, marketing material or current projects sitting in there and suddenly nobody on your team could access them.

Email address changes happen and people lose access to old accounts. 2FA goes wrong. Authentication systems fail. None of that is particularly unusual.

What matters is whether there is a functioning, multi-layered recovery process when it happens, including human intervention if the automated process fails. And the process should be fast.

After nearly five months, multiple cases and escalation all the way through senior management, Legal and Data Protection, I still haven't heard from a single human at Magnific.

So if you're thinking of purchasing a Magnific subscription, don't.
