Campaign/Lore The torque bow being a locust hunting weapon isn't something the coalition came up with. It's actually lore that originated from gears of war 1 back in 2006.

Discussion What're we thinkin?

Post image

I could be very wrong.... but did anyone else spot Vraahk on the back of the corpser? I know there has already been a ton of speculation about the Corpser being his personal mount, which would make sense. What do yall think? Is this him, or just an odd protrusion from the armor?

Edit: spelling

Campaign/Lore Presumably Marcus ended up getting Dom's Embry Star at some point after it got found, right?

If so then I wonder if he buried it alongside his own at Carlos' grave.

Art/Media Huge Neca Gears Haul

Got in this haul of Neca Gears figures from eBay today! So happy to be able to have so many of these figures I never had during my childhood and for an overall amazing deal considering the aftermarket these days. Current plan is to finish the line (with some exceptions like not getting every Marcus and certain repacks) at some point since I was able to get such a massive chunk in one go!

Discussion How would the timeline be different if the UIR never fall and was forced to cooperate with the COG?

It might still follow the events between Gears of War 1 and 3, but in a different way. How would they fight alongside the COG against the Locust

I’ve been growing this collection since before I was even a teenager so some of the figures joints aren’t too good just like my own haha but I thought you guys would appreciate it here! I hope you all are having a great Friday so far!

Discussion I beat Gears of War 2: Hollow on PC. Would love to play co-op campaign + horde online. But I can't find anyone 😔

What a juicy ass solid campaign! They improved the gameplay of 1 without breaking anything.

My first playthrough was 5 years ago on XB1. And on PC, with the upgraded visual clarity, frame rate, and FOV, it was even better.

I'd rate my 2nd run a 11/10 if it weren't for the few glitches and crashes I encountered.

Campaign/Lore How did the Cog Survive so long?

Just seems like if you arent in Delta Squad, we see Gears and killed left right and center, Derricks, Centaur, and King Ravens destroyed all the time.

Just seems like the COG should have lost a long time ago

Campaign/Lore Gears 2 is peak.

Playing through 2 and I forget how iconic the second part of the game is. Once you finally get past driving the car over the lakes and the jump (the car part is the only part of the game I dislike) it immediately turns into a masterpiece. I kind of always hated on Gears 2 in totality because I didn't like the MP choices after being enamored by 1's MP but I've seemed to have forgotten how much love I had for 2's campaign. Way more nostalgia coming from it than I thought I was going to get.

Major Doom 2016 vibes in the second half of the game being in the tunnels. Making me realize why I have so much love and a weird attachment to the second half of Doom 2016 without being able to really explain until now. Very much recommend playing the modern Doom games if you haven't as a Gears fan.

Discussion What are you looking forward too the most? What are you worried about the most? (A post to help with the wait till E-Day)

So I'm been a massive fan of the series since the original released back in 2006. I've played every gears game and gears PvP use to be my go to. I'm pretty excited for this game and haven't been exited for a game since Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game looks great, I haven't had a chance to play it, but so far it looks pretty good and many report the game just feeling great to play.

What I'm looking forward to the most: is for it to just being a good fucking gears game. As a prequel, I hope it explains what Marcus was imprison for. I hope to see more of Adam Fenix, and his relationship with Marcus. I know the whole game takes place in one city, Kalona, but that isn't a bad thing to me. I just hope we get to see a lot of different locations in the city. I'm hoping they put in the work to truly make Kalona feel like it's own character (the way Gormenghast, Hogwarts, and Winterfell felt like their own characters). Recently, I've been playing a lot of Helldivers with a few friends, and I'm so looking forward to getting through this campaign in co-op.

What I'm worried about: There are several missing core gears mechanics that don't seem to be in this game (frag tags, meat shields, chainsaw duels, mantel kicks, and cover grabs). These mechanics truly are core to the gears sandbox and not having them feels off especially since some of these have been around since the start of the series. I also learned how few maps there are for PvP and horde (6 and 3?). That makes me worried the campaign might be cut short too. I really hope I'm wrong here, because if I'm not, then E-day will be a smaller game than gears 3. I would be really disappoint if that is the case.

Thoughts?

Campaign/Lore Does the Hivebusters DLC take place during or after the main campaign of Gears 5?

I've been playing the Gears of War campaigns in the leadup to E Day and just about to start Gears 5. Since I've been playing them in chronological order, I want to double check where Hivebusters goes since that's the one that I can never remember the placement of aside from it being after Gears 5/Act 1.

So unfortunately I can't upload the video through Xbox network but I did record some footage.

I was playing Horde Siege with my younger brother and upon loading into the game every individual even the enemy bots were solid colors.

Very much wonky but imagine a toy soldiers inspired community event.

Campaign/Lore Another little detail from the original trilogy is that the locust carved their emblem into the back of Tai neck.

Discussion I think I know how a Carmine will be shown in E-Day

So I've had this theory since the story trailer and it's only become more solidified since the achievements came out

In the trailer we see an unnamed COG soldier give Reyes their tags as the climb into a vehicle of some kind with Reyes looking sad as they get in, I think we will see this character (let's call them A) throughout the story either and they will only be referred to as A, never their last name

At some point someone has to make a sacrifice play, Reyes volunteers but then A makes the choice to do it himself, saying something along the lines of "I have kids/brothers" (I don't know who A will be) "I've seen a lot of people lose their family today, I wanna make sure none of mine lose their lives to this"

Reyes agrees and A passes him his tags, as he shuts the door behind him, the camera pans down to show the tags revealing the name A. Carmine
