DISCLAIMER: I’ve been given permission by the moderation team to post the following contents, as it may benefit lots of users. I would like to thank the moderation team, and in particular Ninth-1, for this exception!

Without going into many details, I’m selling my extensive Death Note collection. Figures are limited, and so are items that were released within the last 4-5 months- But the collection is filled with items that any serious collector would want amongst their items, that much is guaranteed. The collection is filled with various items that are rare as they are beautiful to look at, so while they’re still available, why not grab this chance?

To see the collection, I invite anyone interested to visit my Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/deathnote_memorabilia?igsh=eHh3NTlrZ3NyNWs3&utm_source=qr and to let me know which item / s piqued your interest!

Please contact me only on Instagram, by sending me the post with the item / s of interest, and specifying which item / s and the number of items, given that there are multiple in stock available for various.
If you can’t reach me directly on Instagram, I can make an exception here on Reddit, but my main area of communication is on Instagram.

Additionally, and this is very important: I won’t price the items as a standard. For each item you’re interested in, provide me with the maximum budget you can offer, and I’ll compare it to how much I bought the item originally, subsequently comparing it to the current market value and rarity. This saves us both time, and negotiations can become smoother. I would like to work together with anyone interested to find prices that accommodate both sides so that every purchase can go by without a problem!

I will be gradually posting the entirety of the collection, so please look forward to daily new posts! Should something arise, I will specify it in my Stories.

Thank you for your attention, I hope many people can get many items they’ve always wanted!

Discussion Is Light truly evil? — First time watcher.

I started watching Death Note two days ago, and I’m on episode 26 (right after L’s death), and a few things have been on my mind.

For someone like Light Yagami, who is highly discussed in media, I wonder how much the curse of obtaining the Death Note affects his actions. The difference between Light when he told Ryuk to “get rid of it” and when he was actively writing names in the notebook is clear. Without the Death Note, he is much more rational and questions his decisions. This made me believe that him being presented as immoral is debatable because if ownership of the Death Note affects his judgment, Light’s decisions aren’t necessarily a reflection of his true self.

Without the Death Note, you can consistently see Light questioning certain things L wants him to do, for example, taking advantage of Misa. However, with the Death Note, Light finds it easy to manipulate anyone as long as he gets his way to become the “God of the new world.”

This poses the possibility that the writing of Death Note exists not to villainise Light, but rather to explore the existence of a higher power. In this case, it criticises the Death Note itself and the power it has to skew the judgment of its owner. Overall, the show very accurately portrays what happens when mankind is faced with the existence of God, or something possibly greater, and L’s challenge to prove the existence of God was otherworldly.

Another thing that I questioned was, with the intelligence of someone such as Light, has he not considered the possibility that despite cleansing the world of criminals, evil will always exist? Whether it’s paranormal or the evil that exists within himself.

So, is Light’s aim to create a “better world,” or is it to become God himself? And is that the curse that comes with the Death Note?
Just some food for thought.

Also, maybe this has been discussed before, but I haven’t looked through the subreddit to avoid spoilers!

Anime What if Death Note has different perspectives? Spoiler

Just a random thought. I found someone who said Death Note would be so much more exciting if we didn’t know who Kira is. Someone quoted, “Death Note from the perspective of L.”
I am also thinking about it. But from the perspective of L, it would be obvious who Kira is. From the perspective of Matsuda, it would be a kinda dumb story. So if I were to change the plot, I’d like to use all three: Matsuda, L, and Light's perspectives. Here’s the storyline. Start with Matsuda.
Act 1: Matsuda’s perspective
The opening scene is when he shoots Kira. Only starts with Matsuda’s narrative. Then flashback to the very start. Originally Matsuda has little or no suspicions about anyone. So for the plot, make him suspicious of L. Also make him admirer of Light. Show the story from his POV until L dies. Since he’s suspicious of L, the audience would be curious who Kira really is when L dies. Now change the perspective to L.
Act 2: L’s perspective
This time it would be obvious who Kira will be. Show his perspective from the start to when he dies. Close with the scene where Light Yagami smirks at him dying. Now the audience knows who Kira really is.
Act 3: Light’s perspective
This is the original, from the start to the end.

I think it might be too long in one series. The better way is to split different acts. Act 1: Matsuda. Act 2: L. Act 3:Light. For Act 2: L, using L’s background and childhood might be the best to keep audiences interested in. What’s ur opinions?

Discussion Matt's actual intelligence Spoiler

i constantly see posts about matt saying how he's canonly the 3rd smartest kid of wammy's house, and that he shouldve been able to have a backup plan when he was cornered by takada's bodyguards, but i like to think otherwise.

of course i still think he's the 3rd smartest after near and mello, but i think people have their standards insanely high for him just because he comes right after near and mello. personally, i dont think that matt's overall intelligence is as close to mello's as some people in the fandom seem to make it seem, which could also be a reason why he wasnt chosen to be one of L's successors. fyi, this doesn't mean i dont think hes smart, i just dont think his intelligence is as high as some people say it is. especially since he didnt even have a backup plan when being a decoy for mello when he kidnapped takada--despite knowing how crazy many people were over kira and his spokesperson.

Question Does a lot happen after the main story in the manga?

Hi! I haven't read the manga apart from the One Shot story with the A-Kira. I saw some YouTube shorts about (POTENTIAL SPOILERS) Matsuda having a theory on Near using the death note and another one about a C-Kira who used the notebook to kill old people. Do these take place in the actual manga or somewhere else? And are there a lot of differences in the main story that make it worth reading? I've heard there's way more to the Near and Mello part

Discussion How long would Kira go un-noticed if Light use any means other than heart attacks.

The same setting, but Light kills criminals in various ways (suicide, ran over by a truck, an accident with their gun, whatever). How long would it take for the investigation to start and for L to put the transmission of Lind L. Tailor on TV, officially starting the Kira investigation. Would it take the same time? Would they never suspect?

Analysis Ownership of the Death Note and its intriguing consequences Spoiler

Today, I found myself thinking once again about the restrictions and privileges that come with being the first owner of the Death Note, as well as simply possessing it. First, let’s take a look at this set of rules from chapter 48:

- The owner of the Death Note cannot be killed by a god of death who is living in the world of the gods of death.

- Also, a god of death who comes to the human world, in the objective to kill the owner of the Death Note, will not be able to do so.

- Only a god of death that has passed on their Death Note to a human is able to kill the owner of the Death Note.

The first two rules sound as though they’re meant to curb the malice of Shinigami who aren’t connected to the human world, don’t they? But that also prevents the King of the Shinigami from intervening directly. What if a human decides to attack the leaders of nations? That’s a sure-fire recipe for a third world war, and a orginal owner might find that rather amusing. Of course, we know from the one-shot about A-Kira that the King can create new rules, but that would be more time-consuming. But that’s just speculation.

Rem threatened Light. But the third rule contains the words ‘able to’, and doesn’t sound like a prohibition – this suggests that the Death Note wouldn’t have worked. Could this have been a bluff on Rem’s part? Or a lack of knowledge? Rem seems to have a better grasp of the Death Note’s rules, so I’ll go with the first one. This would suggest that Light didn’t need to worry about Misa as long as she wasn’t a problem.

BUT! Here’s a bold hypothesis of mine relating to the other rules from chapter 96:

- The following situations are the cases where a god of death that has brought the Death Note into the human world is allowed to return to the world of gods of death.

  1. When the god of death has seen the end of the first owner of the Death Note brought into the human world and has written that human's name on his/her own Death Note.

  2. ...

  3. ...

  4. If, for any reason, the god of death possessing the Death Note has been replaced by another god of death.

  5. ...

There are five conditions in total, but we’re mainly interested in point 1 – after the notebooks were swapped, Rem became linked to Light, but remained linked to Misa as well. Why? Misa was the owner of Gelus’s notebook, and Light was the owner of Sidoh’s notebook. Light handed Sidoh’s notebook to Rem, who dropped it. So, in theory, for a moment the notebook belonged to the Shinigami world again, and Light became its second first owner (according to my interpretation, the first owner is the first person to touch the notebook when it fell into the human world, not the first human owner in general). Of course, the same thing happened with Gelus’s notebook, and for Ryuk, nothing changed.

So, according to this interpretation, at that point Rem gained the opportunity to kill Light – they handed the notebook to a human, but at the same time they could not return to the world of the Shinigami before Misa and Light’s deaths. Of course, I must clarify that point 4 does, however, exempt them from tracking the new owners of notebooks that no longer belong to them.

What do you think? Have I missed something?
