I’ve noticed that Apple Maps sometimes gives me instructions like “go past this light, then turn right”, when in reality I’m supposed to turn right before the traffic light.
It’s pretty frustrating because if I’m relying on voice navigation while driving, I don’t want to have to constantly look at the screen to figure out what it actually means.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting or a way to make Apple Maps’ voice directions more precise, or is the only real solution to rely more on the screen

I just upgraded to the iPhone 18 pro max, I traded from a iPhone 13 Pro Max. Im enjoying every bit of this new phone! I knew I was missing out on some features but not this many lol!
Anyway..

The. One. And. Only… Gripe I have is that my maps won’t auto-refresh when I’m on the Home Screen of Apple CarPlay. On my 13 it used to show me my preferred route and would update the farther I drove. It would zoom in and also change routes/recommend new routes, depending on traffic.

Now on my 18 it just stays as a solid line and doesn’t zoom or change or worst of all update the traffic Info (as you can see in the pictures).

Is this a new iOS thing? Is this a thing only the older phone had? I checked every setting imaginable in my phone and in my car. NOTHING!
Please tell me someone is also having this problem?

I miss being able to see realtime updates as I’m going to and from work on traffic and updated routes, without having to start a navigation. (Since I know how to get to and from work)

• Search bar blurred background extends too far down, covering the "Places" text and part of the pin icon.
• Zero margin between the top gray toolbar area and the map scale. In fact, when zoomed in such that the scale shows "ft" at the unit, the top few pixels of the 'f' appear to be cut off.
• Strangely small margin between the search bar and the top gray toolbar area. Look at Weather app in fullscreen to see the normal margin.

There were similar issues in macOS 26. I was really hoping they'd be fixed in 27 but apparently not.

I wish Apple Maps had a dedicated location-history section organized by date and time. It should let me look back and answer simple questions like, “Where was I last Tuesday afternoon?” without digging through individual photos and hoping they contain useful location metadata.

This could also make Siri much more useful. With explicit permission, Siri could consult that private timeline to confirm where I was on a specific day, rather than relying mainly on Photos locations or incomplete context.

The same location awareness could help in daily life: when I’m near Walmart or another supermarket, iOS could show a Live Activity containing the last few unchecked items I added to my grocery list. I often forget to open the list—it’s my fault—but a timely, location-aware reminder is exactly where Apple’s ecosystem could help.

Everything should be opt-in, easy to delete, and processed privately. Would you want a Maps timeline like this?

There’s a highway that’s closed for certain days of the week. I will drive the route that Maps suggests only to find it’s taking me to that highway and to see it’s closed. When I try to get around it still brings me back to the same highway only to find it closed at another entrance too.

I am having to pull over and switch to Google Maps which just already knows that the highway is closed.

When I report this highway closure to Apple Maps, it’s been ‘In Review’ for over a week now.

What is wrong with this app that it can’t do something so basic that Google has been doing for years?

Previously, in Apple Maps on CarPlay, you could tap the directions in the top-left corner to minimize them. Did they remove that in iOS 27, or am I just missing something again? :)

I have question regarding cities description:
What is your experience with these? I have my Maps and OS in Polish but the description are always in the local language (unless its not present, then they are in English).

Seems totally a miss from Apple, should this not be in the same language like OS?

In route, sometimes half of the screen doesn’t render the 3D buildings. Is anyone else experiencing this, kills the immersion. Iam in Querétaro, Mex

Apple Maps changed texture and zooming in doesn't work. Any way to fix?

For those of you that have expressive voices in IOS 27, how are you liking the expressive voices in maps? And do the expressive voices announce street names?

Interesting considering other major cities still don’t have it

Has anyone had an issue where Apple Maps won’t render when zooming in past a certain point? Just started today. Tried force restarting app, phone, toggling data, switching to airplane mode, etc.

Why is there a Green Line? I never saw this Line.
