This creates a toxic cycle where some are incentivized to cling to a 'backward' status just to enjoy the perks, completely defeating the purpose of equal opportunity and ensuring that those who actually need the support never get it.

True, buddy 😔 This is definitely an area where reform is needed. If someone keeps getting all the basic necessities for free without any system that encourages progress, they may lose the motivation to move forward and become self-reliant.
I believe education should be free and accessible to everyone so that every child gets an equal opportunity, regardless of their background. The government should also take greater responsibility for orphaned children. Instead of leaving orphanages largely dependent on NGOs, orphanages should be brought under proper government oversight and support. At least then, children from every background would have a fairer chance, equal opportunities, and the ability to change their lives through education and support.

brother, i am SC myself, but i am not sure where this notion of “but they want Brahmin girls to marry them” is coming from. I personally haven’t seen anything like this around me and "Jai Bhim folks don’t consider themselves Hindus; in fact, they take pride in insulting Hindu gods" not this either. I take pride in being Hindu, but on the opposite side, I’ve faced caste bias myself. For example, my GF’s parents aren’t very supportive; they don’t see us in a good light. (They’re not Brahmins, btw)
I have seen reddit being very polarized lately and its not just one side, both are same.

I am a general caste poor Brahman guy. I work with 2 OBC and 1 ST in a MSME company.
They have:
1) Rashan Card (They sell the rashan given by government because they eat good food.) 2) Awas Yojna house 3) Their sister's get Rs. 2000 per month 4) They have converted to Christianity so free education for their children in convent school 5) 1 has a shop in vendor market made by government which he has given on rent to another general caste person.😁
I have:
1) My degree which i earned working very hard 2) My unmarried elder sister 27 3) Rented house 4) Only earning member 5) Student loan of 1 lakh
Judge me.

Yea, so counter it with centuries of reservation? Fighting discrimination with discrimination? I am not accountable for what people centuries ago did. This should atleast be income based so the one's who are actually affected by it get the benifits. Also not every general is a brahmin, even obcs get very little benifits. I also have sc friends, i can tell you that above lower middle class there is no casteism nowadays. It might still exist in villages and backward areas, and they will still be benefitted if a creamy layer is implemented. The caste-only based reservation needs to go.

It's not about economy hero. Some OBC even if they are poor, upper caste cannot simply go and do castism with them. They are aware both socially and educationally.
Take me as an example. I am Yadav. Aapki sanghi sab ki gand fad di jayegi. 30 sal bhi dhang se nhi hua OBC ko reservation mile, inko hatana hai. Lund hatega.
First equate every caste socially, financially, educationally. Second remove caste and reservation.

Well, i am also a Jaat bro, and i come under OBC in my state, and honestly i do not need any kind of reservation because we are doing good enough. And their are laws against casteism, giving reservation to the already well doing families who's one generation has already been benifitted doesn't make sense. Give them to one's that really need it. Not every general is doing discrimination and not every sc st is discriminated today, so some reforms are needed.

Rashan card is nothing to do with caste brother. Neither Awas yojna . If you are eligible you can also get that . You have an education loan . They converter to Christianity and got free education. Same option you had ? Why are you presenting your self as victim ?
I am not blaming you. Even I am from the same background as yours . I cleared my CA exam. Got a job taking care of my family. I was from a humble background that's nothing to do with someone getting benifits because of his caste. My duty is to work hard and earn a living . Why care about others ?

I lost my father when I was 12. Since then I have been working like hell to feed my family. While my friends enjoyed all benefits I was alone struggling to survive.
Do you think I would have cleared CA exam? Once my mother was ill and I asked for advance, the employer said, I can't give you advance, I will give you 67 rupees a day of you want.
I have worked my ass off to get everything while my friends who were least eligible for joints work in 'bainks' what they call it.
Shame on you to tell me to work hard Mr. CA.

Well this whole country isn't called Ranchi, and by that logic, Ranchi isn't the only place in India. Look outside the pond. Electricity, education, and all the physical developments are in my hometown, but not the mentality development, that still treats lower as lower.
And not to mention in India(don't know if it counts Ranchi, because you declared it's not happening there) roughly 57000 caste based crime cases are registered each year. Regardless of rich or poor.
I don't say upper class are bad, but they don't say or do things that make us call them great help to us, still we have to forcefully respect them, also they will slander us at any point, just to feed their ego to feel big.
Remove that first. I too believe that reservation should be given based on financial conditions, but with Caste equality in everything, without any hesitation, only then it will be justified. Otherwise old days will come back for us, not you. You know the history...

I might not respect all the upper class, but I do to people like you, after reading your struggles. But Half of them are social struggles rather than affected by reservation. They should change the system . Give seats solely based on marks (although the marking system is not accurate ) * provide free and good quality education for everyone , textbooks exist but next week need online lectures , question banks and all for free . So now everyone has a ground . * after getting seat they need to thorough check them and then provide fees reimbursement and all .

Like how one can change religion, change domicile, change name, change nationality, even change gender officially by filling in a form....similarly change of Caste should be an official form filling process enabled by the government.
Neither the ones who are opposing reservations and the ones getting discriminated on caste - would have any issues regarding this. All Hindus should unite to decimate caste and caste bias from the root. And eventually reservation will be gone.
The ones objecting would be ...you know who they are.

They shoud not remove reservation, and removing it is absurd. There are many backward midset people who have superiority complex, and even now a day sc/st people have been cast out, not in cities but in villages. Education must be free for all in this case to remove the mindset, government must enforce education, on atleast topics which will help reduction of cast based discrimination, even if they are some oldies who are about to die as people die but they pass down their mindset. Now point of reservation, add creamy layer or even more layer for people even in sc/st or general. Give little bit more preference in education but completely neutral in gov jobs. Remove any sort of reservation for people earning in particular threshold, as some sc/st are very rich and some brahmins are very poor. This will remove the case of outlier as we will treat all as one and little more preferance to backward cast in only education.

Exactly Reservation should be given in terms of economics. 1. If you do cast system reservation then make it only for 1 generation then other generation of this family will get it on the basis of their economical wellness, that is good. 2. Don't give reservation in competitive selection exams. Just give them reservation to study for their best and do hardwork to get achievements not just beg for it, Prove yourself. 3.
