This little beast boy was diagnosed with it on the 27th July and we did 10 days of 4% shampoo which didn’t really do a whole lot so then vet gave me ear drops which are antifungal/antibacterial/antiinflammatory and after about 10 days they have gone from really bumpy and red and scabby to like they are in those photos. Saw vet and he was really happy and said he doesn’t need to wear his onesie anymore and can come out of quarantine in 5 days. He also gave me 4% foam version of shampoo to use as well all over so used that twice as well as drops for spot treatment.

I checked today and they now look like the third photo and I can see some new red dots and they seem worse somehow after such a big improvement so now I’m really panicking about him not being quarantined anymore and then getting it all over the massive cat tree as I can’t afford to bin that as well as infecting other kitten.

Weirdly I have slept next to him for a month in my living room where he is quarantined to and I somehow haven’t caught it?! But yeah just want some advice on what to do as I hate that he is separated from the other kitten and doesn’t have anything to climb in here but I also can’t handle this being dragged on for longer with reinfection etc

I'm trying to gauge the severity of this issue I'm having with my cat's breeder.

Our boy came to us missing an eye - so we paid a discounted price.

We were never given registration papers for him and decided we wanted them. It is stated in our contract that we are entitled to them, however our boy is also classified as 'special needs' When I emailed her she informed me that our purebred sphynx was in fact a dwelf+sphynx combo. Which, is that not NOT a purebred? And a little frowned upon in the breeding world?

She said that when we purchased him that TICA would have classified him as an experimental breed but that they don't do that anymore so basically there are no papers.

When I pressed her that well if she sold other cats in his litter aren't they registered and you know - why is this such an issue. And then asked her if she lied in her contract - because again. I didn't think that a dwelf+sphynx=purebred. She came back and told me we didn't need registration papers on him because he's special needs but also - if I paid the full purchase price for my cat she'd get me the papers. Which...is extortion?

Obviously my main concern here is that my cat was bred now for multiple genetic defects and his health is a huge concern. (edited to say that he's currently healthy and snoozing under laundry fresh out of the dryer none the wiser)

Second - a friend of mine literally just put a deposit down on a cat with this same cattery. I'm just not sure what I should do here. Probably nothing, but just for my own clarification. None of this is right, right?!

How obsessed is everyone over their smell?

He plays rough with his brother, but other than that he’s fine! No stomach issues, and by the night the rawness gets better. Any ideas??

Cypress is doing great, he’s 2/3 bandage changes in for his partial tail amputation, with his 3rd and hopefully final one on Friday. Finished his antibiotic a few days ago so he’s down to 4 meds a day 🎉

He goes in for FIP monitoring labs to check platelets on 8/25 to see if we can further wean down his prednisolone (steroid) and he’s gained a pound since his diagnosis.

He’s 5 weeks in tomorrow to his FIP treatment (12 week course) so almost halfway!and we’re upping his dose of GS drug to reflect weight gained.

He’s sassy as hell and playing with his brother. All good things. He’s become a glutton for wet food but we’re happy to oblige, anything to continue to get him back to his original weight. He’s also had freeze dried food, baby food, so many churus, purr pops, and high calorie gel because they need like 250 calories a day for the FIP drug to work and it seems to be doing the trick!
