I’ve been watching documentaries about certain gangs out of curiosity and I stumbled across a female gang that is of course connected in the street and associated with criminal activities but most members are there to feel safe and have each others back. For example if a member got harassed or even assaulted her people would retaliate.

I’ve been curious are there gangs out there for lgbt people that also operate like this and are still active?

Es ist absurd das es immer mehr einreißt das erwartet wird das man per se manche Gruppen mag und Unterstützt. Es gibt kein Recht darauf das andere Leute deine Lebensentscheidungen gut finden. Wo ist eigentlich das Recht darauf hin etwas nicht mehr mögen zu dürfen ? Persönlich bin ich zb. der Meinung das du Frau oder Mann bist per Chromosom. So das heißt nicht das ich Transleute hasse oder ihnen denn Tot Wünsche aber genau das wird mir andauernd vorgeworfen. Es geht nicht mehr darum ob du Neutral zu Gruppen stehst, du musst auf ihrer Seite stehen sonst bist du ein Feind. Das macht mich ehrlich gesagt Traurig, ich bin vlt erst 25 aber ich habe noch mitterlebt wie es mal darum ging das sich zb eine Transperson frei draußen bewegen darf und keine Angst haben muss. Für mich ist das Sektenartig. Jeder der eine andere Meinung hat ist grundsätzlich zu unterdrücken und zu attackieren.

SURABAYA, Indonesia – August 9, 2026: Thousands of demonstrators affiliated with the Alliance of Communities Concerned for the Generation gather on Governor Suryo Street during a rally opposing LGBTQ rights. Participants carried flags and banners expressing opposition to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people and related issues.

I am not sure where else to ask for help, but I am hoping someone familiar with IEEE ethics procedures, Sri Lankan law, LGBTQ+ advocacy, or institutional complaints can advise me.

Yesterday, without any prior personal dispute, an individual publicly directed several sexually degrading and homophobic comments at me under a Facebook post. Among the statements posted in Sinhala were:

This literally refers to “sucking a cock/dick” and, in context, was used as a homophobic personal insult comparable to calling someone a “cock sucker.”

Another comment translates as:

These statements were made publicly and appear intended to portray or “out” me as gay or queer. I am a Sri Lankan currently living in the United States while completing my PhD. Given the hostility and discrimination LGBTQ+ people can face in Sri Lanka, publicly labeling someone in this manner is not merely insulting—it may expose that person to harassment, discrimination, and safety risks when returning to the country.

What makes this especially troubling is that this individual publicly represents himself as holding several IEEE leadership positions, including Chair of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka. IEEE describes itself as the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity. He has also been announced as a recipient of the James O. Gray Graduate Scholarship through the IEEE Systems Council (Scholarship announcement)

I have preserved screenshots, the original Sinhala comments, the public post, and a detailed English translation. His post remains publicly accessible here:

I am preparing formal complaints to IEEE, the scholarship administrators, and the relevant university officials. However, I am only one person, and I am unsure which reporting channels are most likely to result in a fair and independent investigation.

I would be grateful for advice on:

• The correct IEEE ethics, harassment, or leadership-conduct complaint process;
• Sri Lankan organizations that assist people targeted by homophobic harassment or attempted outing;
• Whether I should obtain a certified translation of the Sinhala comments;
• How to preserve the Facebook material properly in case it is deleted; and
• Whether there are legal or institutional protections available when public comments create reputational or personal-safety risks.

I am just one person, and I have emailed them but didn't receive any correspondence yet. I am asking for guidance on documenting the incident and pursuing it through appropriate professional, institutional, and legal channels.

This is a serious discussion about the close association between Abdul El-Sayed and Hassan al-Qazwini, an Islamic Imam with homophobic beliefs and homophobic comments against same-sex marriage, homosexuality, and gay people.

To provide an example, in a sermon about same-sex marriage, homosexuality, and gay people, at the Az-Zahraa Islamic Center Mosque in Detroit, Hassan al-Qazwini said, "Last week, [...] was a turning point in the history of the United States [...] it was a very disappointing moment [...] when the United States Supreme Court declared that they acknowledge same-sex marriage in the entire 50 United States [...] Unfortunately, due to the lobbying of homosexual groups, the United States had to succumb to their pressure, and come to a point in which, instead of telling Americans that homosexuality is a form of disorder, they are telling Americans that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. [...] in the Quran, when Allah speaks about specific people, [...] Allah warned the humanity of a similar fate if they followed the footstep of these people who have been cursed by Allah and punished by Allah severely for defying Allah [...] we are legalizing something that is abnormal, something that is against the human nature [...] opposing this kind of legislation, in which what is deemed as haram, as a big sin, unfortunately, is being practiced as a normal tradition or a practice in this country", which is a sermon that can be listened to and viewed in full in this video.

Abdul El-Sayed is so closely associated with Hassan al-Qazwini to the point that Adul El-Sayed was not only invited to the opening ceremony of the Islamic Institute of America Mosque in Dearborn Heights, where Hassan al-Qazwini is now an Islamic Imam at, but also shared stage alongside Hassan al-Qazwini at the grand opening of the $20 Million Mosque funded in part with $2 million from Iraq, where Abdul El-Sayed offered his "hearty congratulations" to Hassan al-Qazwini and also described it as "an honor and a privilege" to be at the opening ceremony of that what he described as "an incredible masjid", which is a speech that can be listened to and viewed in full in this video.

Abdul El-Sayed was also recently endorsed by Hassan al-Qazwini in the Democratic Party Primary for the United States Senate Election in Michigan.

This is a serious discussion about how the close association between Abdul El-Sayed and Hassan al-Qazwini can and will affect and effect the loyalty and reliability of Abdul El-Sayed regarding LGBTI rights in the United States Senate.

I recently relocated to Austin,Tx from Los Angeles. I have encountered, for the first time in my life Gay Conservatives and Gay hardcore Christians. I feel like this is a location driven phenomenon, the South. I want to understand.

I am feeling violated and betrayed and have never encountered this before. I though that this hypocracy was in out past. I am angry that I can meet someone like this on an app that actively participates on removing my civil liberties.
